First, from Gateway Pundit, is a video of Jonathan Gruber saying he was in the room in the oval office "on what can we do to get credible savings on cost control that the Congressional Budget Office would recognize and score as savings in this law."
Who else was in that meeting with Gruber and Obama?
According to ABC, everyone.
” In addition to the president and Elmendorf, present in the meeting were White House officials such as Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs Phil Schiliro, Director of the White House Office of Health Reform Nancy-Ann DeParle, Office of Management and Budget director Peter Orszag (a former CBO director himself), National Economic Council Director Larry Summers, chair of the Council of Economic Advisers Christy Romer, senior adviser David Axelrod, and press secretary Robert Gibbs.
Others were there as well, including Department of Health and Human Services adviser Meena Seshamani, Harvard University economist David Cutler and Alice Rivlin of the Brookings Institute, who was founding director of CBO from 1975-1983.”
Gruber was not mentioned by name in the ABC piece, but the White House logs show us that Jonathan Gruber and David Cutler, a Harvard economist, entered the White House at the same time to meet the POTUS in the West Wing.
Then there's this, from Obama's 2012 website, now scrubbed, but found in the Wayback Archive (PunditPress, h/t Sister Toldjah on Twitter).
According to BarackObama.com, President Obama’s official website, Jon Gruber “helped write Obamacare.”
The post was written in 2012 and was about specific quotes from President Obama trying to tie Mitt Romney to ObamaCare by saying that “RomneyCare” was the model for the Affordable Care Act.
In an act to hide the connection to Barack Obama after Gruber’s quotes about the “stupidity of American voters” went viral, the article has been taken down by Organizing for Action. However, it was online as recently as August of this year, and a cached version still exists that clearly shows its original content. Pundit Press found the cached version.
PunditPress also noted this 2012 NY Slimes article on how Obama's team called Gruber.
"Then came the call in 2008 from President-elect Obama's transition team, the one that officially turned this stay-at-home economics professor into Mr. Mandate."Finally, Ace of Spades writes how Peter Orzag (mentioned earlier) lauded the "Cadillac Tax" mislableing, as discussed by Gruber.
So Obama cannot claim he didn't know. Peter Orzag talks about Obamcare phasing out the health care exemption, through the deceptive means of indexing the "Cadillac Plan" threshold to slow-growing CPI rather than fast-moving (and accurate) rate of medical inflation.
He also states that they went about phasing out the health care exemption because certain people -- unnamed, but he means Obama -- had demagogued McCain's honest discussion of ending the exemption (replacing it with a tax credit), and, as Orzag says, to now embrace an honest plan like McCain's (repealing health care tax exemption while offering a $10K tax credit, M.I.M.) would be "awkward."
So instead they lied.
...As soon as he's elected, Obama begins scheming as to how he can tax people's health insurance -- this time, not bothering to offer the $10,000 tax credit, which would make people net-neutral on the deal. He wants to tax them more. So no tax credit.
And since he just got done demagoguing the issue, he has to do it secretly. So he gets together with Orzag and Gruber to repeal the exemption over the course of years, as the "Cadillac Plan" threshold fails to keep pace with actual inflation.
So where are we now? Well, according to Gruber, we are 20 years away from all plans being taxed at 40% rate, which means that most employers won't offer them, and will just dump people on to the government exchanges.
They'll give people some cash in lieu of health care-- which will be taxed (unlike the health care benefits, making the middle class triple losers on the deal).
And the MSM is embargoing this, instead choosing to talk about Kim Kardashian's asshole.Well, because the Obama Lapdog Media, like Gruber and the Democrats, all think Americans are too stupid to figure all this out.
Well, then why is it that many Americans can see through the Obama Regime lies, because they're living through higher health premiums, loss of coverage, not being able to find meaningful work after losing a job.
That's how Gruber's lies were initially found, a guy who lost his health care coverage began researching and found Gruber talking about the "stupidity of the American voter." They weren't found by the corrupt media who, unlike 40 years ago, are engaging in aiding All The President's Cover-Ups.
Now imagine Jonathan Gruber had been a member of the Bush Administration and claimed all the WMD evidence in Iraq was fabricated...the howls of outrage in the Corrupt Media and Democrat Party would be deafening.
