Convicted Philadelphia cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal has been selected as the commencement speaker for a Vermont college.
Goddard College announced that the infamous inmate will address its graduates at Sunday's ceremony.
Undergraduate students receiving their degrees selected Abu-Jamal as their commencement speaker, the Plainfield, Vt., school said.
Abu-Jamal was convicted in the 1981 slaying of Officer Daniel Faulkner and sentenced to death. The high-profile and long-running case was in the news for decades as Abu-Jamal fought the death penalty; the sentence was later reduced to life in prison without parole.
The college says it holds 20 commencement ceremonies each year so students in each degree program can have personalized graduations. But to see what is really sick, read what the college President says about having this piece of human garbage address the graduates of this "school."
"As a reflection of Goddard’s individualized and transformational educational model, our commencements are intimate affairs where each student serves as her or his own valedictorian, and each class chooses its own speaker," Goddard College Interim President Bob Kenny said in a statement. "Choosing Mumia as their commencement speaker, to me, shows how this newest group of Goddard graduates expresses their freedom to engage and think radically and critically in a world that often sets up barriers to do just that."Is that what your parents spend thousands of dollars for? To be addressed by a unrepentant cop killer?
Goddard said Abu-Jamal received a bachelor of arts degree from the college in 1996. He completed this coursework there by mail, according to the Burlington Free Press.
Abu-Jamal has given commencement speeches at other colleges. Both his 1999 speech to graduates of Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., and 2000 address for Antioch College's commencement in Yellow Springs, Ohio, sparked outrage and protests from police officers, prosecutors, and Faulkner's family. There is the tragedy. The family of Officer Daniel Faulkner has had to endure a bunch of wealthy liberals in the entertainment industry and academia make a hero out of this black supremacist who five people witnessed him killing Officer Faulkner. A hospital security guard even testified that Mumia screamed “I shot the mother fu**er, and I hope the mother fu**er dies.”
The Mumia case also has links to the Obama Regime. Former Obama "Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones not only held marches in Oakland supporting the convicted cop killer, but also, financed, produced and appeared on an album "War Times" with the cop killer.
Obama also nominated Debo Adegbile, who defended Mumia while head of the NAACP legal defense fund, to head the Civil Rights Division under the Eric Holder Department of (Racial) Justice. Obama defended the cop-killer's attorney, calling the defeat of his nomination a "travesty based on wildly unfair character attacks against a good and qualified public servant."
Yes, that's what the White House said about an attorney who defended a scum racist that murdered a white cop. But then again, that has been the MO of the Obama/Holder's racist legacy, seen in the case of Henry Gates, Trayvon Martin, the New Black Panthers, and the recent unrest in Ferguson, MO.
This is the case too often among liberal educational institutions, even private schools. Witness how Communist Angela Davis, who aided in buying a weapon linked to the 1970 murder of a Marin County, CA Judge, is allowed to speak not only to colleges but also liberal private schools. In the warped view of modern liberals--evil is good, and what is decent is evil.
Question is, will there be enough outrage against this travesty?
