Obama Trades Five Taliban For Suspected AWOL Soldier, But Silent About Marine Jailed In Mexico, Christian Pastor Jailed In Iran

Family time kept me away from the blog this weekend, but I was following some news items and others on Twitter.

When I saw on Saturday a captured soldier had been released, it sounded like good news, but as I read follow ups that I wasn't getting via headline news on TV or the car radio, it didn't sound good. When I kept reading more, it was infuriating, especially seeing that five Taliban detainees were swapped for a soldier suspected of desertion (synopsis at Flopping Aces, my emphasis).
“The horror that is America is disgusting.”

- Bowe Bergdahl

There was Obama, proud as a peacock:
Good afternoon, everybody. This morning, I called Bob and Jani Bergdahl and told them that after nearly five years in captivity, their son, Bowe, is coming home.

Sergeant Bergdahl has missed birthdays and holidays and the simple moments with family and friends, which all of us take for granted. But while Bowe was gone he was never forgotten. His parents thought about him and prayed for him every single day, as did his sister, Sky, who prayed for his safe return.

He wasn’t forgotten by his community in Idaho, or the military, which rallied to support the Bergdahls through thick and thin. And he wasn’t forgotten by his country, because the United States of America does not ever leave our men and women in uniform behind.

Obama watched proudly as Bowe Bergdahl’s father praised Allah:
At the end of brief event, the soldier’s father, Bob Bergdahl, recited the most frequent phrase in the Koran — “Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim” —which means “In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Compassionate.”

Bergdahl’s father sported a Taliban beard for the occasion.

Susan Rice was proud:
“It was an extraordinary day for America,” Rice told CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Hagel was proud:
“This is a very happy day for the Bergdahl family,”

There were many who were not happy, among them those who served with Bergdahl.
I was pissed off then and I am even more so now with everything going on,” said former Sgt. Matt Vierkant, a member of Bergdahl’s platoon when he went missing on June 30, 2009. “Bowe Bergdahl deserted during a time of war and his fellow Americans lost their lives searching for him.”

Bergdahl made it very clear he hated America and its military in emails to his family.
“The future is too good to waste on lies. And life is way too short to care for the damnation of others, as well as to spend it helping fools with their ideas that are wrong,” Bergdahl reportedly wrote his father. “I have seen their ideas and I am ashamed to even be american (sic). The horror of the self-righteous arrogance that they thrive in. It is all revolting.”
He also attacked the army saying it cut down people “for being honest,” and rewarded sycophants. “The title of US soldier is just the lie of fools,” he wrote. “I am sorry for everything here.
Why are people like Sgt. Vierkant, quoted above, angry? Because at least six soldiers lost their lives looking for Bergdaghl.

The five Taliban scuam who were released from Guantanamo Bay.
Mohammed Fazl – commanded the main force fighting the U.S.-backed Northern Alliance in 2001, and served as chief of army staff under the Taliban regime. Fazl slaughtered thousands of Shiites.

Mullah Norullah Noori - served as governor of Balkh province in the Taliban regime and played some role in coordinating the fight against the Northern Alliance. -

Mohammed Nabi Omari – the Taliban’s chief of communications and helped al Qaeda members escape from Afghanistan to Pakistan.

Khairullah Khairkhwa – most prominent position was as governor of Herat province from 1999 to 2001, and he was alleged to have been “directly associated” with Osama bin Laden.

Abdul Haq Wasiq – deputy chief of the Taliban regime’s intelligence service. His cousin was head of the service.
According to the Washington Times, all five were considered high risk terror suspects back in 2008.

Yet why is it that a US Marine takes a wrong turn, ends up in Mexico and is detained in a prison there, and the Obama Regime says not one damn word about him, and is doing nothing to get him back, but Obama and his Party of Treason will sell out our Mexican border and even send over illegal weapons?

Why is it Obama and his regime is silent about an American pastor, Saeed Abedini, being detained in Iran and (according to his family) is being beaten. But Obama and his Party of Treason cry crocodile tears over alleged mistreatment Taliban and al-Queda terrorist detainees at Guantanamo Bay, who get better medical treatment than our vets at the VA?

Could it be that all because Obama and his Regime are, as father of 9/11 hero Todd Beamer said back in 2010 (at about 3:27 in video below)...

"I don't know if Obama is a Muslim or not. But he sure is a Muslim sympathizer, and he has the track record to prove it."
Isn't it a coincidence that Obama does this the day after he gets rid of VA secretary Shinseki and is trying to bury that whole story. Another example of how Obama has nothing but contempt for our military, and contempt as well for the War on Terror that was brought to our shores on 9/11/01 (remember "all this for a damn flag?")

Andrew McCarthy writes at NRO...
Plain and simple, President Obama has never had any intention to confront and defeat the Taliban. As I observed back in 2009, General Stanley McChrystal, then the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, pronounced in a memo explaining U.S. strategy that the war in that country was the Afghans’ war, not ours. In his estimation, our troops’ primary reason for being there was not to defeat America’s enemies but to enable the Afghans to build a better life, and therefore “our strategy cannot be focused on seizing terrain or destroying insurgent forces; our objective must be the population” — meaning, to protect Afghans.
Obama’s overriding goal has been to end the war, not to win it — as if it were possible, by walking away, to end a war that the enemy started and continues to fight. The president has thus announced that our forces — which aren’t being permitted to prosecute a war anyway — are being pulled out. Less than 10,000 will remain as sitting ducks from an abandoned mission by the end of this year, and all of them will be withdrawn by the end of 2016. The president knows the Taliban are ascendant, aggressive, and biding their time until they can seize control again. He knows that the Taliban’s official return will be a boon to al-Qaeda, which Taliban leadership continues to support. So Obama is trying to portray a humiliating American defeat as an Obama foreign-affairs triumph: The Taliban’s return will be made to look like a negotiated peace settlement instead of a surrender. The prisoner swap is just the latest accommodation of the Taliban on the road to this sorry outcome.
Sarah Palin on Facebook says not only did Obama blow it, he threatens troop morale....
Commander-in-Chief's Definition of "Honorable Service" Includes Anti-American Actions While in Uniform; He Just Destroyed Troop Morale

The Obama administration tells America this soldier served "with honor and distinction." (http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/susan-rice-bergdahl-served-honor-and-distinction_794066.html

)

No, Mr. President, a soldier expressing horrid anti-American beliefs – even boldly putting them in writing and unabashedly firing off his messages (http://nypost.com/2014/05/31/the-bizarre-tale-of-americas-last-known-pow/
- Sarah Palin
) while in uniform, just three days before he left his unit on foot – is not "honorable service." Unless that is your standard.

Please use your White House Rose Garden to praise the truly honorable service of our good U.S. troops who were killed in their search for Sgt. Bergdahl (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/06/02/we-lost-soldiers-in-the-hunt-for-bergdahl-a-guy-who-walked-off-in-the-dead-of-night.html

). Praise the soldiers who fought with everything they had to defeat Islamic terrorists, those whom you just freed from prison. Our men gave all. Our surviving combat vets will forever live with the effects of the missions they willingly engaged in to protect you, our country, and certainly their brothers and sisters who are proud to wear the uniform.

You blew it again, Barack Obama, by negotiating away any leverage against the bad guys as these bad guys – Osama Bin Laden's partners in evil crime – joyfully celebrate their "win" in the deal you sealed.
Meanwhile, just like with the IRS, just like the unConstitutional executive adjustments in Obamacare that Dicktator Obama makes, he did not consult Congress, as law requires, in making this exchange.  Just who is going to hold him accountable for this law breaking?
