That and a phony LIEbertarian who was backed (we learned today) by an Obama campaign bundler from Austin, TX.
This was a race that could have been won, and needed to have been won, against a corrupt, wheeler-dealer named Terry McAwful who was looking to buy a governor's seat with an endless amount of left wing campaign cash.
But as I feared over two weeks ago, the Republican Party establishment abandoned Cuccinelli, instead focusing on New Jersey Fats, Chris "Krispy Kreme" Christie winning against a weak candidate.
Yes, as a conservative in Virginia, I'm disappointed in the election results. But I'm extremely pissed off at the RNC and chairman Reince Priebus abandoning Cuccinelli.
Need proof? Nine million dollars was spent in 2009 to elect current GOP Gov. Bob McDonnell in a 17 point landslide. In 2013, the Priebus-led GOP claims to have spent only $3 million...a $6 million dollar difference.
That $3 million number is disputable, and talk show host Mark Levin called WMAL to call Priebus out on his baloney claims the RNC did all they could to support Cuccinelli (Right Scoop).
Priebus is full of crap. As I wrote earlier today in refuting another set of GOP establishment propaganda, I had a campaign worker tell me they could use more money from the national party.
The problem with the Priebus led RNC is they do not want to wage a fight because they are spooked by their own shadows when it comes how the Obama lapdog media will react. Priebus sits back while RINOs like John McLame and Peter King attack Ted Cruz and other Tea Party conservatives with more vigor than they use against Obama or Obamacare. Priebus also did nothing while RINO Virginia Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling acted like a spoiled five-year-old and began a stealth campaign of supporting McAwful. And yet Rinse shows up, as he did in the New Jersey Senate special election, in the very last weekend before the election.
What is wrong with the GOP today is not the Tea Party or conservatives. It is weak and timid leaders like Priebus who talk a good game of fighting the liberal agenda when it comes to fundraising. But when the rubber meets the road, they cower. You can't have an effective leader who is afraid to fight, and who has the personality of a cold-commode seat.
Bottom line. Speaking as one conservative I do not have confidence in Reince Priebus to be able to lead the GOP to victories in 2014 and set the groundwork for 2016. He blew it in 2012 and he blew an important race in Virginia.
Reince Priebus is a lying establishment snake. He needs to be thrown out of his post at the RNC.
UPDATE: More proof that Priebus is full of it, when he claims the national party gave support to Cuccinelli. (Breitbart)
According to the Washington Post, Chris La Civita said that financial support from national Republican sources dried up on October 1.
“There are a lot of questions people are going to be asking and that is, was leaving Cuccinelli alone in the first week of October, a smart move?” La Civita said after Cuccinelli's concession speech, according to the Post. “We were on our own. Just look at the volume [of ads].”
He added that there was "definitely a national mood that was moving, that is moving, that is continuing to move against the White House and the Affordable Care Act. And I can’t help but ask myself, what would have been the result had he had five weeks of this discussion instead of just 2 ½?”
We're awaiting your resignation letter, Reince. Let's let someone lead the Republican Party who will fight liberals and not allow conservatives to be attacked within the party.
