Not so fast! (Blog.AL.com).
The folks at "Sesame Street are asking President Obama's campaign to stop using Big Bird in an ad bashing Mitt Romney, according to a story at CBS.
Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization that produces"Sesame Street," has notified the campaign that they want Big Bird's image removed from any advertisement, the story said, telling them that they do not endorse political candidates.
"Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns," the group said. "We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down."
According to the CBS story, the Obama campaign says they're considering the request to pull the ad. Big Bird became a campaign talking point when Romney said in the presidential debate last week that though he liked the big yellow bird who stars in "Sesame Street," he would cut funding to PBS, the network that broadcasts the show.
Apparently, Big Bird wasn't a big fan of Obama's before this whole talking point erupted...
