With Flip Romney, Compliments On Newt, Rick Perry Have An Expiration Date

It appears that with Flip Romney, there's always another side of the coin with not just his stands on issues, how he looks at and compliments those who become his opponents.

Prof. William Jacobson has this clip of how Romney called Newt Gingrich “brilliant, a wonderful ideas generator.”

Romney now calls Newt "zany" and an "unreliable conservative."

Now, one could write that off as a "that was then, this is now" scenario. The problem is, this has happened before with Mitt Romney.

In October, Romney released ads attacking Texas Governor Rick Perry's record of job creation in Texas, saying the Lone Star State had the highest unemployment in 20 years.

But listen to what Flip Romney said about Rick Perry in May 2011!

"Here I am in Texas I couldn't be here without complimenting your great governor. He is doing a heck of a job! (applause) The nation could learn a lot from a governor who says you know if you want to attract new jobs you've got to keep taxes down, you've got to keep bureaucracy down, you've got to get education to work for the kids, not for the teacher's union. ....The rest of the nation could learn a lot of lessons from Governor Rick Perry.
