Three members of the U.S. House’s “Progressive Caucus” made a trip to Havana, Cuba for the 85th birthday of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Representatives Barbara Lee (D-CA), Sam Farr (D-CA) and Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) met with the daughter of Fidel, Mariela Castro, who recently endorsed President Obama for a second term.
The three representatives made the trip on an “approved” junket of the Center for Democracy in the Americas, an ultra-left organization with strong ties to the Castro regime.
...Rep. Lynn Woolsey also has a long history on the far left, once sponsoring a Communist Party USA “gala dinner” in 1999. In 2007, Woolsey and 8 other Democrats voted against a House resolution to recognize the importance of “Christmas and the Christian faith,” after voting earlier in the same year to “recognize the commencement of [the Islamic holy month] Ramadan” and the Hindu holiday Diwali.
Woolsey also has voted against resolutions on the anniversary of 9/11 and one condemning a French city for naming a street after cop killer Mumia Abu Jamal. She also wrote a letter of reference for the rapist of a Terra Linda, CA teenager. In June, it was first reported here that Woolsey said she was "proud" of an anti-American, anti-Israeli Code Pinko activist who disrupted Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to Congress.
It's not surprising Comrade Lynn would take off to the land of rusting 57 Oldsmobiles on a Castro-linked junket. She's always sided against the nation she swore an oath to represent and, instead, with America's enemies.
