Radtke: No Proposal Addresses The Fundamental Problem In DC--Too Much Spending

GOP Primary Candidate for US Senate Jamie Radtke writes the following on her blog while on the campaign trail. It is worth reading, even if you are not a Virginia resident.
I’m on the campaign trail today and in five minutes I will be driving through Cuckoo, Virginia. As you can guess, that about sums up where we are in Washington, D.C. I think it is official: the Washington Establishment is Cuckoo.

We have proposals from Speaker Boehner, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and the Gang of Six (and still no proposal from President Obama–which is probably a good thing given his track record), and NONE of the proposals do anything to address the fundamental problem: the spending orgy in Washington DC.

It isn’t providing leadership to suggest setting up another debt commission or abdicating your constitutional authority to the president. The only way to save the America we have always known is to insist on fundamental spending cuts with structural restraints – e.g., Cut, Cap and Balance – that will bring confidence back to the market and put it on stable footing. (M.I.M. note--all bold/italics my emphasis)

This is a call to arms for every patriot in Virginia and America. We need boat rockers in Washington D.C. who will fight for America’s economic freedom. Call Speaker Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Senate Minority Leader McConnell and tell them that there is no compromising when it comes to saving America. Make real and lasting cuts, make them now (not promised over ten years), and insist on structural reform with a balanced budget amendment.

And just importantly, ask Tim Kaine and George Allen where they stand! Do they back the Boehner/McConnell/Reid/Obama proposal that does nothing to save America’s economic freedom or do they stand with America?
