Weinergate - Congressman Admits He Sent Lewd Photos Via Twitter, Won't Resign

Remember that this morning, I posted here a link to Andrew Breitbart's breaking story of a woman who had intimate photos and conversations with liberal Democrat Congressman Anthony Weiner.

A lot has happened in less than 24 hours, as Weiner held a press conference and admitted today that the crotch photo sent from his Twitter account was of him. The admission came after other assorted lewd messages and photos which came out today via Breitbart's BigGovernment and BigJournalism, including shirtless photos of the Congressman and shots with him and his "pussies."

But the dick won't resign (Yahoo news).
After days of denials, a choked-up Rep. Anthony Weiner confessed Monday that he tweeted a photo of his bulging underpants to a young woman, and he also admitted to "inappropriate" exchanges with six women before and after he got married. He apologized for lying but said he would not resign.

"This was me doing a dumb thing and doing it repeatedly and lying about it," the 46-year-old New York Democrat said after a week of double-entendre headlines and late-night wisecracks full of Weiner jokes.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi immediately called for an ethics committee investigation into whether Weiner broke House rules.

The congressman — who was widely expected to run for mayor of New York in 2013 — said at a half-hour news conference that he had never personally met any of the women he corresponded with online and sometimes via telephone over the past three years, and was not even sure of their ages. He also said he had never had sex outside of his marriage.

He said he did not feel the scandal affected his work as a lawmaker but would understand if his constituents decided not to re-elect him. "I'm going to work very hard to win back their trust," he said.
He doesn't have to resign because, unlike Republicans, Democrats have no values or morals to live up to.  It's always about "the cause" or "the struggle."  That's what pisses me off more than anything else about liberals, this unbridled arrogance they have, that the rules don't apply to them.  Drive a woman off a bridge and drown her, serve as a Kleagle in the Ku Klux Klan, have sex with underage male pages, splooge on a White House intern's dress, cheat on your taxes while you serve as head of the Ways & Means Committee.  All liberal Democrats, they did this crap and got re-elected, received accolades and standing ovations from their party colleagues.

And don't bring up to me people like Mark Sanford or Larry Craig.  They were wrong too and should have resigned.  Anyone who serves under the public trust needs to realize it's a sacred trust, not one to be taken advantage of or make one feel like they're above the law.
Weiner should resign.  He's a liar who was only looking out for himself, and didn't care if he damaged other people in the process to save his perverted ass.
Madame Pelosi, according to the story reference above, wants an ethics investigation.  If one story referenced on Radar Online is accurate, he used his office to call a sexting partner during the Obamacare vote.  What would be the result of that?  Expulsion from the House, or just another hand slap like tax cheat Charlie Rangel got?

Dr. Jacobson at Legal Insurrection notes that the line for apologies to Andrew Breitbart starts forming at the left.  One of the suspects has not stated he won't apologize for his smear of Breitbart, the failed jazz guitarist/blogger known as Charles "Icarus" Johnson, who has cemented his place as the Dan Rather of the blogosphere.
