College Democrats Of America: Misinforming One Student At A Time

Donald Douglas has this interesting video up at American Power, a promo for the College Democrats of America.

Roll the tape:

Many of these responses had me slapping my head with my hand asking, WTF?

"I believe the government should take care of its citizens."

In the sense that the primary role of government is to defend this nation from threats, yes. But not in the sense that government is supposed to give you everything and even wipe your mouth as well. I guess that gal would have a problem with this guy.

Just the the modern Democrats who so revere JFK would probably kick him out of the party if he were to come back to life today. A Democrat who was anti-Communist and promoted "tax cuts for the rich," OMG! "JFK sounds too much like Ronald Reagan" is what the Obamabots would say, because they've been blinded by the myth of Camelot. Instead of promoting what JFK said at his inauguration, Democrats have turned too many Americans into dependents who look at Washington and say "gimme, gimme, gimme!"

Then there's the guy in the video who said the Democrats were "the party of civil rights." Really? I wonder if this guy knew that it was a Republican (Abraham Lincoln) who freed the slaves, and a Republican (Dwight D. Eisenhower) who signed the first civil rights act (1957), which was kind of toothless thanks to Southern Democrats like Lyndon B. Johnson. The 1964 Civil Rights Act would not have passed if it hadn't been for Republicans, due to Southern Democrats like Al Gore Sr. and the former KKK Kleagle Robert "Sheets" Byrd, who filibustered the bill. Johnson was known by many in Texas as being racist to the core. He was quoted in Ronald Kessler's book "Inside The White House" as telling two Democrat governors on Air Force One, "I'll have those niggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years."

Maybe once they get out in the real world, these kids will get "mugged by reality" and find out everything the Democrats have told them isn't quite true.

It was one of the more twisted (not to mention insipid) presentations I've seen. There was nothing of substance; nothing of policy. Only "feel good" bs. But hey, two of the girls had big ol' boobies and one of the guys looked like "Flounder" from Animal House. That should be plenty to get a college kid interested in the Democrats.

"Mugged by reality"? Doubtful. The laws, regulations and policies are moving Leftward so quickly by either executive order or judicial fiat, that it may well br too late already.
