Obama's Plan To Combat High Gas Prices: Eric Holder To Go After Oil Companies

That should get those gushers flowing!

The Community Organizer-in-Chief announced today he has a plan to bring the price of oil down: investigate so-called "Big Oil" for price gouging and price manipulation (AP/Yahoo News).

President Barack Obama said Thursday that the Justice Department will try to "root out" cases of fraud or manipulation in oil markets, even as Attorney General Eric Holder suggested a variety of legal reasons may be behind gasoline's surge to $4 a gallon.

"We are going to make sure that no one is taking advantage of the American people for their own short-term gain," Obama said at a town-hall style meeting at a renewable energy plant in Reno, Nev.
Spoken like a true Marxist, as well as an economic illiterate. But what else are we to expect from someone whose only job has been "community organizing?"

It gets worse. Everyone got on George H.W. Bush for being "out of touch" because he'd never seen an electronic scanner in a grocery store. Patterico reports that Obama told a crowd at a $35,800 a plate fundraiser in San Francisco:

“Right now we’ve got $4-a-gallon gas, and most of the people under this tent don’t have to worry about that. But for the average person who has to drive 50 miles to work and can’t afford to buy the Tesla, it’s hammering them. It’s hurting them,” Obama said, according to a White House transcript that notes the Tesla comment drew laughter.
A Tesla is an electric sports car that costs about $100,000. The company is also planning a sedan that will be half that price. I don't know about you, but I don't know many people who have or would want to spend $100K on a car. Maybe if you're a San Francisco liberal who has $35,800 to burn to listen to the Chicago Jesus speak, you can afford a Tesla, or not worry too much about gas prices like the rest of us working folks.

Plus, the way Obama wants to put the coal industry out of business, what's going to power all these electric cars, like the Tesla and the Chevy House-burning Volt?

The Administration should be"an unindicted co-conspirator". This is about weakness in the dollar, Wall Street speculation and NO FREAKIN' ENERGY POLICY.
