Liberals At Media Matters Blame Jewish Lobby For Egypt Crisis

Yid with Lid, via Gateway Pundit, reports that the alleged non-partisan 501(c)3 tax exempt organization known as Media Matters has blamed the Jewish Lobby (meaning AIPAC) for the current crisis in Egypt.

Media Matters is partially funded by left-wing sugar daddy George Soro$, who once said he felt no guilt about aiding Nazis in the confiscation of property from Jews, as he told Steve Kroft from 60 Minutes.

Kroft: “My understanding is that you went … went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from the Jews.”

Soros: “Yes, that’s right. Yes.”

Kroft: “I mean, that’s—that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many years. Was it difficult?”

Soros: “Not, not at all. Not at all. Maybe as a child you don’t … you don’t see the connection. But it was—it created no—no problem at all.”

Kroft: “No feeling of guilt?”

Soros: “No.”

One order of business the GOP House should do is investigate and remove the non-profit tax exemption for this Leftist organisation.

Executive Branch Overreach: Obama Regime Snubs Federal Judge Who Found Obamacare Unconstitutional

Could we be on the verge of the biggest Constitutional crisis in American history?

A Federal Judge overturned all of the Obamacare law as "unconstitutional," and yet the Obama Regime says full speed ahead on implimentation of the law.
ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: Senior White House officials called today’s ruling striking down the health care law “an outlier” and are confident that it will be overturned on appeal.

A federal judge in Florida struck down the Obama administration’s health care law ruling that because a central provision of the law is unconstitutional the rest of the law cannot stand without it. Judge Roger Vinson of the Northern District of Florida ruled that the individual mandate -- which requires individuals to purchase health care by 2014 or pay a penalty -- "exceeds Congress' commerce power."

...Stephanie Cutter, Deputy Senior Advisor to the president, issued a blog statement pushing back at the judge’s ruling that Congress cannot force individuals to buy health insurance. She said the Constitution authorizes Congress to regulate commerce.

"Individuals who choose to go without health insurance are actively making an economic decision that impacts all of us," she wrote. "As Congress found, every year millions of people without insurance obtain health care they cannot pay for, shifting tens of billions of dollars in added cost onto those who have insurance and onto taxpayers."
But the judge, in a wise move, used Obama's own words against him:
“I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that ‘if a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house,’”
Besides, people who don't have insurance are liable for their coverage, Ms. Cutter, it's called being billed for services. Of course, there's always the case of illegal aliens who come across the border for health care and have placed many hopsitals out of business.

David Axlerod, who always looks like he finished combing his hair with a pork-chop, commented that the judge's interpretation of the law was "very dubious," while admitting he is no lawyer.
In an interview with The Huffington Post, outgoing senior adviser David Axelrod accused Judge Roger Vinson of judicial overreach for concluding that the health care law's individual mandate was both unconstitutional and not severable from the rest of the legislation -- meaning the entire law had to be tossed.

"I'm not a lawyer," said Axelrod, from a makeshift office in the West Wing. "But I will tell you that I think that many lawyers are very dubious about that. The role of the courts is not to look for expansive opportunities to invalidate an act of Congress -- it is to rule narrowly as possible and leave intact the intent of the legislation. So I'm sure that will be a matter of intense discussion and debate as this case moves forward in the courts."
No, this is a case of Executive Overreach, and we've seen this before. Last year, a court overturned the Obama Regime's drilling moritorium in the Gulf, only to have that drugstore cowboy Ken Salazar write another, which was promptly thrown out again. Here, they're doing the same thing, defying a federal judge who did (according to the legal experts I've seen) say an injunction against the law was uneccessary because the whole law was unconstitutional.

What is going to be the end result? Is this regime willing to defy a federal court and place themselves in contempt?

Not just the individual mandate, as a Virginia judge ruled.

The whole enchilada....ALL of Obamacare.

Legal Insurrection has the breakdown.

Misleading Headline Doesn't Tell That Liberals Were Arrested Outside Conservative Meeting, Former Obama Officials Linked

Another day, another misleading Lapdog Media headline, making it sound like 25 conservatives were arrested (Yahoo News).

LA QUINTA, Calif. – Authorities in California say 25 protesters have been arrested for trespassing outside a strategy session of conservative political donors at a Palm Springs-area resort.

Riverside County Deputy Melissa Nieburger (NEE'-bur-gur) said Sunday that the protesters were being booked at Indio Jail and released.

Hundreds of people participated in the mostly peaceful demonstration that had been arranged with authorities, but some protesters crossed the street to the Rancho Las Palmas Resort.

Deputies in riot gear arrested them without incident when they refused to leave the area.

Sunday was the second day of the four-day conclave. It was organized by brothers David and Charles Koch, who have funded the fight against global warming laws and have financial ties to tea party groups.
These were liberal groups, like Greenpeace, who were arrested (Gateway Pundit).

Big Government also reveals that the protest was organized by by former Obama ACORN adviser Peter Dreier. In a message sent out with an Occidental College e-mail account, he also encouraged the protesters to attend a forum with UC Irvine Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky, U.C. Berekely Professor and former Obama adviser Robert Reich, and (911 Troofer & Marxist) Van Jones.

UNBELIEVEABLE! Obama Parties With Press Lapdogs As Egypt Burns

Cairo is burning, but that's one more excuse for Barack Hussein Obama to party (White House Dossier).
The Washington A-List was out in force Saturday night at the farewell party for senior adviser David Axelrod, with a roster of guests featuring Cabinet secretaries, big shot journos and – President Obama.

As revolution threatened to sweep Egypt and possibly other allies – with the horrifying prospect of Islamism replacing reliable friends – the president was on view partying with the IN crowd.

The skepticism beyond the Beltway about whether Washington is just one big Love-In certainly gets fed by the sight – as conveyed by the press pool report – of reporters like ABC’s Jake Tapper, NBC’s Chuck Todd, National Journal’s Major Garrett, and John Harwood of CNBC and the New York Times emerging from a bash with the president that was held to toast his chief political fixer and leading spinmeister.

I understand why reporters would do this – other than the admittedly pathetic notion that, gosh, it’s fun to party with the president of the United States! It is pretty good for building sources and getting inside dope. But man, it ain’t easy smacking the White House with tough stories all the time if you’re getting invited to their parties, now is it?

Also on hand were Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Education Secretary Arne Duncan, and Energy Secretary Steven Chu. The party was at the Washington residence of Linda Douglass, the former hard-hitting ABC reporter who dropped out of journalism to spin the health care bill out of the White House. She’s now a VP at Atlantic Media.

So we have an official with a journalism outfit – Atlantic Media – HOSTING a party for the president and his consigliere.

Mrs. Obama stayed home. Good for her. Maybe she was monitoring the situation in Egypt.
This song by liberal Don Henley best illustrates how unfazed Obama is with the world around him:

Oil spill in the Gulf, terrorists try to bring down a commercial airliner, Cairo is on the verge of what could be a dangerous revolution...and it's either time to golf or party.

Classless Liberals In Missoula, MT Behead Sarah Palin In Play, Theatre's Executive Director Issues Non-Apology/Apology

In another example of liberal hate speech, a play at the Missoula (Montana) Children's Theatre had a scene added in which Sarah Palin was beheaded, to the amusement of the liberals in the audience (Washington Examiner).
The play, which was presented at the Missoula Children's Theater in Missoula, Montana on January 23, was a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's 'The Mikado.' But the play's director decided at the last minute to add a bit of 'humor' to the production by including a scene which called for the beheading of Sarah Palin.

Although the production was presented before a predominantly liberal crowd, the scene prompted the following letter to the editor in the local newspaper, the Missoulian:

Open letter to MCT director Curt Olds:

First I would like to compliment you and the entire staff of “The Mikado” on the beautiful sets, costuming and professional performance we experienced on Sunday, Jan. 23. However, I must call you on something that was inserted into the play which I am almost positive was not in the original book.

The comments made in such a cavalier and oh-so-humorous way were uncalled for. Now, I realize you play to a mostly liberal audience in Missoula and so, I am sure, felt comfortable in your calling for the beheading of Sarah Palin. I am painfully aware that most in the audience tittered with laughter and clapped because “no one would miss her” but there were some in your audience who took great offense to this “uncivil tone” about another human being.

We are in the midst of a crisis that took place in Tucson where many started pointing fingers at that horrible right wing with all their hatred and targeting and standing for the second amendment and on and on and on. So, here we are in a lovely play with beautiful voices serenading us and we have to hear that it is okay to call for the killing of Sarah Palin because we don’t like her and no one would miss her. Unbelievable.

As a professional you should be ashamed of yourself, the audience should be ashamed of themselves and I am ashamed of myself for not standing up and leaving at that very moment. I would like to see an apology from you not because I want to hinder free-speech but for the hypocrisy this so clearly shows.
In response, Michael McGill, the executive director of the MCT, issued the following typical liberal non-apology/apology while stating the "act" was removed from the production.

I am sorry that the satirical reference to Sarah Palin has offended some of our patrons. Gilbert & Sullivan were well-known as satirists, addressing the social and cultural issues of their day— aristocracy, government, etc…. Some of the lyrics performed in The Mikado around the country today reflect the issues and topics of our time. We know that “MCT” means many things to many people—and we are blessed with passionate, loyal audiences, here in Missoula and around the world. In this instance, however, we are talking about an MCT Community Theatre production (not to be confused with a Missoula Children’s Theatre production). Although MCT Community Theatre did not pen the lyrics that were found to be offensive, we have taken the action of removing them from this production. It is my hope that the audiences will appreciate the hard work, artistry and beauty within this MCT Community Theatre production of The Mikado.

So when liberals issue death threats, it's called "satire," just like films, books and paintings illustrating the assassination of President George W. Bush was called "art."

Hypocrisy, your name is liberalism!

Muslim Brotherhood Backs Egyptian Opposition Leader Mohammed ElBaradei

As feared the other day, this is looking less and less like a "freedom movement" that the Lapdog Media in the US is making it out to be (CSM).
MOHAMED ELBARADEI arrived in Tahrir Square say reporters on the ground. No signs that he will address the crowd yet (or that a public address system has been set up that would make that possible). I just filed a piece arguing that this could be a pivotal moment from the democracy protesters. But now I'm second guessing myself (there are unconfirmed rumors on twitter that he left already). ElBaradei is trying to emerge as the man to lead a transitional government towards elections -- and is getting the backing of the Muslim Brotherhood and secular democracy activists to do so. Meanwhile, Omar Suleiman, the intelligence chief who people have been talking about as a possible successor to Mubarak for a decade, remains the front runner to be the transitional man if Mubarak steps down or is pushed.
Andy McCarthy at NRO writes that the only thing worse than ElBaradei is him being allied with the Muslim Brotherhood.
A few days ago, ElBaradei gave an interview to Der Spiegel — Aaron Klein reported on it at WND yesterday. As Klein noted, ElBaradei is widely seen as a staunch ally of the Brotherhood (surprise!) and gave a spirited defense of them that was about as honest as his disclosures about the Iranian nuclear program used to be: “We should stop demonizing the Muslim Brotherhood,” he insisted. According to ElBaradei, the Brothers “have not committed any acts of violence in five decades.” [ACM note: the Brotherhood killed Sadat in 1981; Hamas kills people everyday.] ElBaradei, who also admires President Obama ardently, said that the Brothers just “want change.” Thus, he concludes, “If we want democracy and freedom, we have to include them instead of marginalizing them.” [ACM: Yeah, just like we did with Hamas -- and how's that workin' out?]

For its part, the Obama administration — which has made outreach to the Muslim Brotherhood and its American affiliates a policy priority — reciprocates ElBaradei’s admiration. Robert Gibbs said Friday that the president knows ElBaradei well and has worked closely with him.

By the way, ElBaradei also says “Israel is the number one threat to the Middle East,” and has expressed strong support for the Palestinian “resistance,” particularly in Hamas-controlled Gaza (which he calls “the world’s largest prison”), because, in his opinion, “the Israeli occupation only understands the language of violence.”

Makes you wonder how ElBaradei and the Muslim Brotherhood managed to find each other — they’re so very different. Amazing to see the forces that “change” brings together.
And since Egypt and Israel have had a shaky peace for the last 30 plus years, such a change might jeopardize the 1979 Camp David treaty (American Spectator).

Jay Nordinger also writes at NRO:
Mohamed ElBaradei’s tenure at the IAEA was disastrous. I could get into chapter and verse, as I have in the past. He spent much of his time protecting Iran from sanctions and, of course, military attack. He was reluctant — he was open about this — to report Iranian violations to the Security Council, because he knew such reporting would trigger sanctions. I believe that a serious case can be made that the 2005 Nobel peace prize to the IAEA and ElBaradei was the worst, most misguided ever given (in the 110-year history of the award).
And the implications aren't going to be just with Israel, but the world's energy prices as well. This is a side effect of becoming dependent on this hostile region due to the radical treehuggers in this nation who want no more energy exploration within the US borders, or offshore.

Note To Michele Bachmann: Don't Cut Veterans' Benefits To Reduce Debt

Normally, I'm a big fan of Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. However, after reading this post at This Ain't Hell and a similar one at Washington Monthly, I have to raise my voice in opposition to this plan of her's to cut $4.5 billion from the Veteran's Administration by capping increased in health-care spending.

As far as I'm concerned, benefits for veterans should be off-limits to politicians for federal budget cuts. This is non-negotiable. These people have volunteered to serve this nation, many times asked to be away from their families, and have put their lives on the line for the defense of this nation. Our government made a promise to them for their service and that is one promise that should never be broken.

Hell, if we're going to cut benefits, let's cut those of politicians, who have gold-plated health and retirement benefits. I don't think the founders intended these temporary public servants to go to Washington and enrich themselves off the public teet, especially on the backs of our veterans.

Here's Bachmann's office phone. (202.225.2331) Give her a call and tell her "no" to cutting veteran's benefits.

Oh, and we shouldn't be cutting aid to our allies like Israel either, Sen. Rand Paul.

US Senate Wants To Revive Internet "Kill Switch"

Could a government shut down of the Internet, a la Egypt, happen here? From the Washington Examiner:
Reminding free speech advocates and libertarians that bad bills are like zombies in DC, the “internet kill switch” will be revived in the Senate. Still sponsored by Maine Sen. Collins and Sen. Lieberman, the Sen. Snowe supported bill has been revised and will presented once more.

Cnet reports on the “improved” bill. But first we need a bit of history.

"A draft Senate proposal that CNET obtained in August 2009 authorized the White House to "declare a cybersecurity emergency," and another from Sens. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.V.) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) would have explicitly given the government the power to "order the disconnection" of certain networks or Web sites. House Democrats have taken a similar approach in their own proposals.”

As The Hill pointed out when this idea was first proposed. Those in support of the bill bawk at calling it a “kill switch” and think its merely a clarification.

“At the heart of the issue is whether the president already has the authority to intervene in private-sector networks in the event of such an emergency. Collins and other supporters of the bill contend the president has had that authority for some time under a little-known provision of the Communications Act passed one month after the December 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor."

Some might question this wisdom of the timing of such an idea considering the fact
that Egypt has just shut off the internet (and mobile phones) in order to aid in their crackdown on street protests. Tea party and other activists will see this as hint of what could happen here with an over-zealous President.

VIDEO: Tom Harkin Calls Tea Party Members "Crazy People"

So much for that "new tone" and "civility" that liberals have lectured us about since the Tucson tragedy.

MSNBC had on that phony fighter jock, Sen. Tom Harkin from Iowa, on the other night and he attacked the Tea Party as "crazy people" with "wacko ideas." (Viral Footage).

Only a big government liberal would consider Federalism and the ideas this nation was founded upon "wacky ideas."

Oh, and by the way Tom, real men don't fry their steaks, we barbecue them!

Missionary Shot & Killed Near South Texas Border, Ignored By Obama Regime

Another American has been killed due to the violence in Mexico, this time, a 59 year old missionary (KGBT- Valley Central).
Authorities are investigating the death of an American woman who was allegedly shot near San Fernando and came across the Pharr International Bridge seeking help.

Investigators told Action 4 News that 59-year-old Nancy Shuman Davis is dead following late Wednesday morning.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials confirmed that a woman came to the United States seeking medical attention around 12:25 p.m. Wednesday.

Pharr Police Chief Ruben Villescas told Action 4 News that his agency is investigating the case.

Villescas told Action 4 News that a woman later identified as Davis was rushed to the McAllen Mediical Center where she passed away.

Davis' husband told investigators that they were traveling on a Mexican highway outside San Fernando when they were confronted by a group of armed men.

He told police that he sped off and that the gunmen opened fire wounding his wife in the head.

The man said he sped back to the United States where he asked for help at the bridge.

Pharr police said both Davis and her husband were missionaries and traveled extensively in Mexico.

Tiffany Hartley knows exactly what the Davis family is going through.

“There is anger and frustration,” said Hartley. “I think there is every emotion possible that you can feel.”

Back in September 2010, Hartley’s husband David was allegedly killed by cartel members after the couple crossed on jet skis onto the Mexican side of Falcon Lake.

She said her daily life has not gotten easier and moving on is hard to do.

“I don’t know if you ever move on,” said Hartley. “I don’t know if you ever can get over it. You will always be missing that person and you will always be taken back to that day.”

Hartley said when she heard about Nancy David her thoughts immediately went to David and the day he was taken from her.

“I literally broke down,” said Hartley.” I had every emotion. I was sad, angry, and devastated. My heart was breaking for them.”
Texas Governor Rick Perry's office made the following statement:

"This is a tragic incident and it underscored the need for real border security from the federal government since this violence is occurring right in our back yard."

This story from the UK Daily Mail says the couple may have been targeted for their pick-up truck they were driving.

There's nothing silence from the Obama Regime and Hillary Rotten Clinton's State Department on the killing of another American in Mexico. Yet Obama mentioned his support of the DREAM Act amnesty for people who've broken our immigration laws.

This is ridiculous! I grew up in this area and still have several friends and family members living in South Texas. When we moved down there in the mid-1970s, you could go to the border towns (Reynosa, Matamoros, Progreso) to eat, drink, buy liquor and shop and not even think twice about your safety. Since the rise of the drug cartels, starting in the mid 1980s, it's gotten worse now to the point that people I know won't even go across the border anymore. Since this Administration is not willing to secure the border and confront Mexico on this violence, it's going to get worse.

UK Telegraph: US State Dept. Backed Egypt Rebel Leaders -- Mubarak Asks Gov't To Resign, Appoint New Gov't Tommorrow

This could be shaping up to be a repeat of Carter's Iran, according to this from the UK Telegraph.
The US government has previously been a supporter of Mr Mubarak’s regime. But the leaked documents show the extent to which America was offering support to pro-democracy activists in Egypt while publicly praising Mr Mubarak as an important ally in the Middle East.

In a secret diplomatic dispatch, sent on December 30 2008, Margaret Scobey, the US Ambassador to Cairo, recorded that opposition groups had allegedly drawn up secret plans for “regime change” to take place before elections, scheduled for September this year.

The memo, which Ambassador Scobey sent to the US Secretary of State in Washington DC, was marked “confidential” and headed: “April 6 activist on his US visit and regime change in Egypt.”

It said the activist claimed “several opposition forces” had “agreed to support an unwritten plan for a transition to a parliamentary democracy, involving a weakened presidency and an empowered prime minister and parliament, before the scheduled 2011 presidential elections”. The embassy’s source said the plan was “so sensitive it cannot be written down”.

Ambassador Scobey questioned whether such an “unrealistic” plot could work, or ever even existed. However, the documents showed that the activist had been approached by US diplomats and received extensive support for his pro-democracy campaign from officials in Washington. The embassy helped the campaigner attend a “summit” for youth activists in New York, which was organised by the US State Department.

Cairo embassy officials warned Washington that the activist’s identity must be kept secret because he could face “retribution” when he returned to Egypt. He had already allegedly been tortured for three days by Egyptian state security after he was arrested for taking part in a protest some years earlier.

The protests in Egypt are being driven by the April 6 youth movement, a group on Facebook that has attracted mainly young and educated members opposed to Mr Mubarak. The group has about 70,000 members and uses social networking sites to orchestrate protests and report on their activities.
Any coinicidence that this all came right after the 2008 election that brought Barack Hussein Obama to power?

UPDATE: Via Twitter, I'm seeing that Mubarak has given a speech and has called for his government to resign, and he will announce a new government tomorrow.

Could Egypt Become For Obama What Iran Was To Carter?

Violent protests are heating up across the Middle East, in Egypt and now in Yemen and Jordan as well.

Since the Bubarak regime is using force and other means to try and shut down the protests, the Obama Regime is hinting they are looking into reducing US aid to Egypt (AP).
The Obama administration threatened on Friday to reduce a $1.5 billion program of foreign aid to Egypt based on President Hosni Mubarak's response to swelling street protests in Cairo and other cities.

"Violence is not the response" to the demands for greater freedoms, said White House spokesman Robert Gibbs.

Gibbs said President Barack Obama had been briefed extensively about the fast-unfolding events but had not tried to speak with Mubarak by phone.

The White House spokesman's repeated calls for the government of Egypt toabandon violence was the latest response along those lines by the administration, struggling to keep abreast of a growing crisis inside a nation that has long been an ally in Middle East peace-making efforts, yet also has long denied basic rights to its own people.

Earlier, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said the government in Egypt should restore access to the Internet and social media sites.

"We are deeply concerned about the use of violence by Egyptian police and security forces against protesters, and we call on the Egyptian government to do everything in its power to restrain the security forces," Clinton told reporters at the State Department.

Asked about aid to Egypt, currently running at about $1.5 billion a year, Gibbs said the review would include both military help and other assistance.
Granted, even though Mubarak is an ally, it is true that Egypt could use more democratic reforms. However, there are indications that the Muslim Brotherhood may be part of and leading some of the demonstrations. The Muslim Brotherhood has been banned in Egypt and is linked with jihad as well as promoting an Islamic state under Shariah law. So there's a lot to be concerned about.

What's interesting to me, is how the Obama Regime refused to side against the Iranian mullahs last year during the green uprising, but are now going after Mubarak's government for using violence against the protesters. What if it might mean the loss of an ally, and the possibility that Egypt might become radicalized, turning not only against us, but against Israel as well.

Which poses the question: Could Egypt become to Barack Obama what Iran was to Jimmy Carter? An ally who may not have had the cleanest hands, but was overthrown and replaced by an Islamic regime who was a threat to the US and our allies in this region.

Challenger Disaster: 25 Years Ago Today

I'll never forget being in US History class as a junior in high school, and having Mrs. McClelland, the history teacher across the hall, come in and tell us the news that the Space Shuttle Challenger had exploded.

This is live coverage from CNN, in the moments before the launch:

And right after.

This is Launch Pad 39B, from a June 1985 visit to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

We went there during a heavy thunderstorm, and the tour guide told us they were getting the pad ready to launch the Space Shuttle in January 1986. The Challenger launch was the first from this pad.

Biden's Inspiring Words To Unemployed: "Hang In There"

Via Yahoo News.
Yahoo! asked Vice President Joe Biden Thursday to give some good advice for the unemployed. He provided a list of recent improvements to the economy, while expressing sympathy for those struggling to get by without a regular income.

"So the message is 'hang in there?'" Yahoo!'s Anna Robertson asked.

"The message is hang in there," he repeated.

Republicans gained traction in last year's election by asking "where are the jobs?" and highlighting Americans' dissatisfaction with the economy. GOP Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin also made the jobs question as the focus of his State of the Union response this week.

But in Thursday's interview, Biden stressed that the recovery of the labor economy would be slow and gradual--even though the GOP has harnessed widespread impatience with that view for political gain.

"Things are coming back," Biden said, after noting that the unemployment rate is now dropping "minimally," businesses are investing, banks are lending, and companies are gaining confidence.

"But, again, it's not sufficient that the economy gets back to where it was before. The jobs in the 21st century--the good-paying jobs in the 21st century --are also going to lie in entire new industries, which we have to innovate our way into creating."
Gee that's inspiring words from Vice President "Bite Me." People have been hanging in there for two years, after the promise of a second failed stimulus, the liberal obsession with government run health-care and a boondoggle known as "green jobs" due to the blind faith in the fraud known as glo-BULL warming.

These people keep showing us they don't have a clue to what they're doing. Why should they? You don't understand how to create jobs when all you've been is a Senator or a community organizer.

West Virginia Considering A Holiday Honoring Former KKK Exautled Cyclops

Don Surber writes that the State of West Virginia is considering honoring the former night rider, as well as King of Pork, the late Sen. Robert "Sheets" Byrd.

From the Charleston Daily Mail today: “Lawmakers are disagreeing over whether a new statewide holiday named for Robert Byrd is the best way to honor the legendary senator. House Bill 2865, introduced Wednesday, would officially designate Byrd’s birthday, Nov. 20, as the state’s 13th recognized holiday. Delegate David Walker, D-Clay, introduced the bill as a way to formally recognize the senator and the legacy he left.”

My reaction?

Try my pre-action from my February 18, 2010, column in the Charleston Daily Mail: “W.Va. needs a Sen. Robert C. Byrd holiday. A day of spending would be fitting”:

MONDAY was not Presidents Day. The federal holiday on Monday was George Washington’s Birthday.

In 1968, Congress voted and chose Washington over the presidents.

His original birthday was Feb. 11 but it was moved to Feb. 22 when Britain adopted the Gregorian calendar.

Abe Lincoln was born on Feb. 12 and his birthday stayed there. But it is no longer a state holiday, legislators having traded it for the day after Thanksgiving, aka Black Friday, as a state employee holiday.

Republicans succeeded in having the post-Thanksgiving state holiday named “Lincoln Day,” which honors the man most responsible for our statehood.

The name has not caught on.

I say we rename it Robert C. Byrd Day. His birthday is Nov. 20. Close enough for
government work.

Like Washington, Byrd’s birthday moved, in his case due to poor record-keeping. His name, Cornelius Calvin Sale Jr., also changed, as his Aunt Vlurma and Uncle Titus Byrd raised him after his mother died.

He’s 92. He’ll get a kick out of a holiday. Who knows, maybe the state can get an earmark out of the deal.

I am no fan of his, but my fellow West Virginians are. Majority rules.

Put me in charge of the state and you never change your socks and the little streams of alcohol will come trickling down the rocks.

If they do, just don't try to cannonize the former Senator, as was done at his funeral last year.

Mike Pence Rules Out 2012 Presidential Bid

From (h/t: Mary Katherine Ham via Twitter)
U.S. Rep. Mike Pence shut the door today on a run for the presidency, but left wide open the likelihood that he’ll seek a different office: Governor of Indiana.

“In the choice between seeking national office and serving Indiana in some capacity, we choose Indiana,” Pence, R-Columbus, said of himself and wife Karen in a letter being sent to supporters. “We will not seek the Republican nomination for president in 2012.”

He said he would make a decision “later this year” about what his next political step is, but by not running for president it is considered a virtual certainty that he will run for the GOP nomination for governor. While he could, instead, run for a seventh term in Congress, that’s not considered likely given that Pence gave up the job that would have made him the fourth-highest ranking Republican in the House after the November elections, in order to focus on other political opportunities.

The State of the Union - WTF?????

I didn't have a chance to write some final thoughts about the State of the Union delusions Obama had the other night (power outage, digging out of snow storm).

One thought went through my mind. That was the difference between him and other President who faced a Congressional mid-term defeat.

After the 1994 mid-term losses, Bill Clinton showed just why he earned the nickname "Slick Willie." He stood before Congress and the American people and proudly proclaimed: "The era of big government is over."

In contrast, Barack Hussein Obama stood before America this past Tuesday and proclaimed, in so many words, that the era of bigger government has just begun. All indications before the speech were that every appearance at moderation was a mirage, because hidden in the flowery language was more big-government "solutions." But the media was too busy acting like cheerleaders instead of objective journalists to read the tea-leaves.

As predicted earlier, both a year ago and after the mid-terms, he proved Tuesday night that moderation is not in his vocabulary. He is an ideological, big-government socialist, and has never been forced into any kind of situation where he's had to moderate.

UPDATE: Ooops, I'd been in such a hurry to get out the door I hit "publish" and failed to attach this video, where the "WTF" description came from.

She was right on the money last night...and I thought I heard the sound of liberal heads exploding last night as I watched this.

Rep. Jim Moron: GOP Won Because A Lot Of People "Don't Want To Be Governed By An African American"

Mr. Civility, Jim "I like to hit people" Moron strikes again (Weekly Standard).

Virginia Democrat Jim Moran was asked by the Arab TV news outlet Al-Hurra last night why the Democrats lost in November. His answer: America is filled with racists.

“It [the Republican successes in the 2010 elections] happened for the same reason the Civil War happened in the United States. It happened because the Southern states, the slaveholding states, didn’t want to see a president who was opposed to slavery. In this case, I believe, a lot of people in the United States don’t want to be governed by an African-American, particularly one who is liberal, who wants to spend money and who wants to reach out to include everyone in our society….”
Before the 2010 election, Moron attacked the military record of his Republican opponent, Patrick Murray, saying military service wasn't the same as public service.

Other examples of Moron's Asshattery:

Here's Moron's anti-Semitism:

And antoher example of his attacks on our military.

But for good measure, here's Moron and Jackoff Murtha being put in their place by a friend of this blog, Mark Seavey.

To my neighbors in Virginia's 8th District, why do you keep inflicting this idiot on us?

Virginia House of Delegates Takes Back Commerce Clause

One great reason to live in Virginia, legislators, a governor and attorney general who stand on the side of the founding principles of this nation. Another example of that happened today (Tenth Amendment Center).
Today, the Virginia House of Delegates overwhelmingly passed House Bill 1438 (HB1438), the Intrastate Commerce Act. The bill, “Provides that all goods produced or manufactured within the Commonwealth, when such goods are held, retained, or maintained in the Commonwealth, shall not be subject to federal law, federal regulation, or the constitutional power of the United States Congress to regulate interstate commerce.”

The vote was 65-33.

For decades, using a tortured definition of “interstate commerce,” Congress has claimed the authority to regulate, control, ban, or mandate virtually everything – from wheat grown on one’s own land for personal consumption, to weed grown in an individual’s own home for the same purpose, to guns manufactured, sold and kept in state boundaries, and everything in between. And, unfortunately, the Supreme Court has largely condoned and even encouraged such reprehensible legislative behavior.

But today, Virginia is once again leading the way in saying “Back Off” to the feds – by standing up for the Constitution as the founders gave it to us.

Krauthammer on Obama's State of the Union

"This is a man who can give great speeches and has. This is not one of them."

I'm hearing on Twitter that Chris Matthews' thrill up his leg was in overdrive.

Stanley Kurtz at NRO asks "Where is the shift to the Center?"
I never expected Obama to genuinely shift to the center, but I did expect a more significant feint in that direction than we’ve seen tonight. Sure, the president’s used patriotic language to justify his spending plans. He’s even made non-committal remarks about being willing to look at medical malpractice reform and such. Oh yes, he’s called for ROTC to return to elite campuses. But that’s about it. This is the same Obama as ever. The emphasis is almost entirely on spending, investment, call it what you will. Not only is the substance unchanged, the rhetoric hasn’t shifted much either. There’s certainly nothing here like “The era of big government is over.” If this speech is any indication, tonight’s politeness on the part of the president and his audience notwithstanding, we’re in for a battle over big versus smaller government from the get-go. I repeat: Where is the shift to the center?

Guess What Obama Brings Up For Budget Cuts?

Like a true liberal: the military.
This freeze will require painful cuts. Already, we have frozen the salaries of hardworking federal employees for the next two years. I’ve proposed cuts to things I care deeply about, like community action programs. The Secretary of Defense has also agreed to cut tens of billions of dollars in spending that he and his generals believe our military can do without.
All while we're fighting a War on Terror, excuse me an "Overseas Contingency Operation?" Sorry, Obama, and to those in the Tea Party who say the military should make cuts. Defense is one of the main Constitutional duties of our government, not creating phony "green jobs," not funding a failed Department of Education, not some government health insurance program.

I'm sorry for our men and women in uniform that this empty suit cares more about community organizers than those who sacrifice time from their families, and their lives, to keep us free.

Obama: Government Is The Solution, Not The Problem

More of the supposed "centrist" Obama that's pure BS from the State of Illusions.
None of us can predict with certainty what the next big industry will be, or where the new jobs will come from. Thirty years ago, we couldn’t know that something called the Internet would lead to an economic revolution. What we can do – what America does better than anyone – is spark the creativity and imagination of our people. We are the nation that put cars in driveways and computers in offices; the nation of Edison and the Wright brothers; of Google and Facebook. In America, innovation doesn’t just change our lives. It’s how we make a living.

Our free enterprise system is what drives innovation. But because it’s not always profitable for companies to invest in basic research, throughout history our government has provided cutting-edge scientists and inventors with the support that they need. That’s what planted the seeds for the Internet. That’s what helped make possible things like computer chips and GPS.
Funny but I don't recall Orville & Wilbur Wright, or Henry Ford getting money from the government to invent the airplane or a car. What has fueled innovation is private investment. You know, those evil rich people whom you want to tax again in two years.

But that's hard to understand when all you've ever been in life is a community organizer.

Obama Pushes For Amnesty For Illegal Aliens In State of DisUnion

Since the liberal Congress failed to pass the so-called DREAM Act, "That Won" made another push for this amnesty for illegal aliens by another name.
One last point about education. Today, there are hundreds of thousands of students excelling in our schools who are not American citizens. Some are the children of undocumented workers, who had nothing to do with the actions of their parents. They grew up as Americans and pledge allegiance to our flag, and yet live every day with the threat of deportation. Others come here from abroad to study in our colleges and universities. But as soon as they obtain advanced degrees, we send them back home to compete against us. It makes no sense.

Now, I strongly believe that we should take on, once and for all, the issue of illegal immigration. I am prepared to work with Republicans and Democrats to protect our borders, enforce our laws and address the millions of undocumented workers who are now living in the shadows. I know that debate will be difficult and take time. But tonight, let’s agree to make that effort. And let’s stop expelling talented, responsible young people who can staff our research labs, start new businesses, and further enrich this nation.
Translated, let's register a few million new Democrat voters before 2012, while Americans are struggling to find work.

Obama SOTU: Ties To Take Credit For Bush Tax Cuts Then Later Says We Won't Make Them Permanent

I'm reading Barack Hussein Obama's State of The Illusion address because it's about the only way I can stomach it. Here's an excerpt if you care to read.

First point:
That’s the project the American people want us to work on. Together.

We did that in December. Thanks to the tax cuts we passed, Americans’ paychecks are a little bigger today. Every business can write off the full cost of the new investments they make this year. These steps, taken by Democrats and Republicans, will grow the economy and add to the more than one million private sector jobs created last year.
Ummmm. Those weren't tax cuts you passed. They were simply extensions of the once evil Bush Tax Cuts.

But those tax cuts that Obama wants to take credit for he wants to take away.
And if we truly care about our deficit, we simply cannot afford a permanent extension of the tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% of Americans. Before we take money away from our schools, or scholarships away from our students, we should ask millionaires to give up their tax break.

It’s not a matter of punishing their success. It’s about promoting America’s success.
"That One" also calls for a cut in the corporate tax rate. But how can you be trusted to cut corporate taxes when liberals have raised those taxes so high in the first place? Especially when you intend to punish those who create wealth--those evil rich people!

There is no moderation or move to the center. It is all smoke and mirrors.

Shameless! Obama Praises The Same Ronald Reagan He Once Trashed

More of "That One's" phony move to the center, but this one is a complete fail! (Byron York - The Examiner).
In an article published in USA Today, President Obama praises President Ronald Reagan as a man with a "unique ability to inspire others to greatness." Obama also says of Reagan that "there is no denying his leadership in the world, or his gift for communicating his vision for America." The late president, Obama continues, "understood that it is always 'Morning in America.' That was his gift, and we remain forever grateful."

Obama's view of Reagan today is far different from the discussion of Reagan in Obama's 1995 autobiography Dreams From My Father (ghostwritten by Bill Ayers?). In that book, Obama says his strong feelings about the Republican president were part of the reason he decided to become a community organizer. "When classmates in college asked me just what it was that a community organizer did, I couldn't answer them directly," Obama wrote. "Instead, I'd pronounce on the need for change. Change in the White House, where Reagan and his minions were carrying on their dirty deeds…"

In another part of the book, Obama criticized Reagan for "verbal legerdemain." By that, he was accusing Reagan of intentionally maintaining a gap between his sunny rhetoric and the actions of his administration. Now, President Obama praises Reagan's "faith in the American promise."
Not surprising there would be this inconsistency. Why even bother asking Obama to write this OpEd? Obama on his best day wouldn't even come close to being one fourth of the man Ronald Wilson Reagan was.

On the contrast, Sarah Palin--in my book the closest to the Reagan mantle--wrote a terrific piece honoring the 40th President.

Carol Browner To Leave Obama Regime

Another one's jumping ship (Politico).
Carol M. Browner, President Barack Obama’s energy adviser, plans to leave the White House in coming weeks, White House officials said Monday night.

Browner, who is Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change, was EPA administrator for all eight years under President Bill Clinton, and is one of the most experienced Washington hands in the West Wing.

... Her departure comes as the West Wing undergoes a heavy makeover, including the arrival of Chief of Staff William Daley, a rare outsider in the top echelons of this administration
Browner is a glo-BULL warming apologist who was also one of 14 leaders of a socalist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society. She also rejected the evidence presented by the hacked Climategate e-mails proving that glo-BULL warming is a man-made hoax.

Border Patrol Finds Weapons, Grenades & Military Style Uniforms Near S. Texas Border

From around the same area of South Texas where a jet skier disappeared, and a decapitated head of a Mexican police official was found, now a weapons cache was found on the Texas side of the Rio Grande River (San Antonio Express News).
A “suspicious object protruding from the brush” in Starr County led Border Patrol agents to a weapons cache that included an AK-47, three M4-style assault rifles, hand grenades, military-style uniforms and other related items, Customs and Border Protection said Monday.

The seizure occurred Friday on the banks of the Rio Grande near Fronton, a small community about five miles west of Roma.

Agents reported finding the four rifles, two hand grenades, a ballistic vest, two ammunition-carrying vests, three two-way radios, two uniforms, and 16 fully-loaded 30-round magazines.

All weapons except the grenades were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations. One grenade was disposed of at the scene by the McAllen police department's bomb squad; the other was to be turned over to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
No word on if the "military style uniforms" were part of any nationality, or perhaps used by drug lords.

David Frum's Latest Mindless Word Drool

I can really second what Professor Jacobson says about being intolerant, because, quite frankly, I'm just as fed up as he is.

Enduring some of the most hateful attacks from liberals as Sarah Palin has is one thing, but attacks coming from so-called "conservatives" like David Frum is another.

Here's Frum's latest edition of mindless word drool:
Now, question: WHY exactly is it problematic for the press to cover a politician who is widely disliked? Palin is not going to be president, conceded. But George Wallace was never going to be president either, yet time spent thinking about him between 1962 and 1972 was not time wasted.

There is a mood I know in the conservative world to downplay Palin’s significance. From the vantage point of 2011, the enthusiasm for Palin once felt by many conservatives – including conservative intellectuals – looks excruciatingly embarrassing. Better to say, “Who us? Never! It was Josh Marshall and Andrew Sullivan who inflicted Palin on the national debate.”
How the hell would Frum know about what the conservative world thinks about Palin when he's done his damndest to alienate most conservatives away from him. I think he spends most of his time around pseudo-conservatives (ie Peggy Noonan) because they travel in the same DC elite cocktail parties.

There's more.
So as a contribution to the debate, let me try to explain why the Palin phenomenon cannot be left behind quite so fast.

In 2008, the Republican party nominated for the office of vice-president a person who is now pretty universally agreed to be unfit for the presidency. (Even Taranto agrees with that.) Concededly: it’s not the first time in the history of the republic that this has happened. But here’s the difference between Palin and, say, Spiro Agnew or Henry Wallace. The Palin nomination elicited a huge outpouring of argument from Republicans and conservatives denying that competence mattered at all in a potential president.

Admittedly, much of this defense was insincere. But unfortunately – not all. Palin we could quietly consign to the attic of Republican embarrassments. The apparatus of excuse and justification that surrounded and protected Palin until the day before yesterday – that still chugs away over at the Wall Street Journal – that apparatus remains an overwhelming impediment to any hope of a more responsible conservatism (WTF???) of the future.
Unfit for the Presidency? Sarah Palin, as a potential 2012 candidate, has more executive experience in serving just one day as Governor of Alaska than Barack Hussein Obama had when he announced his candidacy for the Democrat nomination (Illinois State Senator, voting "Present;" served less than a year in US Senate and decided to run for President). But Frum doesn't address that. Instead, it's just the usual "cheap shots and snide comments," from him, as the professor said.

The problem is, like most Palin haters, Frum cannot back up his criticism with facts. Like his rantings on talk radio hosts like Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh, Frum's Palin "critiques" are nothing but personal attacks from a jealous little man who is desperately looking for an audience.

British Astrophysicist Says The Idea That Glo-BULL Warming Is Causing Colder Winter Is "Bulls**t.."

A video by British Astrophysicist Piers Corbyn was made recently countering claims by glo-BULL warming alarmists that the colder winters being experienced are caused by this alleged "science." (

"This is bullsh--t," says astrophysicist Piers Corbyn. "The idea that warming can somehow cause cooling is fiction and lies created by the global warming lobby."

"These are the same people who told us that snow would become a thing of the past in Europe. They told us we would have ongoing hotter and hotter summers. Ongoing warmer and warmer winters. That has not happened.

"All their predictions have failed. Absolutely. ALL of them. ALL their predictions.

"Now they're saying that warming is cooling. It's nonsense. It's utter nonsense.

"They're acting like a failed cult whose predictions have not come true.

"Their predictions are also fraud. I'd like to know what happened to the 62 percent of stations they have removed.

"They lie about their forecasts.

"This is bulls--t. These people cannot be trusted with anything.
It is supposed to be in the single digits in some areas of the DC Metro area on Monday morning.

Obama's SOTU Will Be An Excercise In Talking Out Both Sides Of His Mouth

Press TV: Obama To Push Deficit Reduction

President Barack Obama says his State of the Union address on Tuesday night will focus on reducing the nation's deficit and creating jobs in the United States.

Obama gave an advance look at what he will ask congress at the State of the Union in a videotaped message sent to the organizers on Sunday.

He is expected to call for unity and cooperation as fights over the handling of the federal budget and the Democratic-sponsored health care overhaul are expected to brew.
Wall Street Journal: Obama to Push New Spending.

President Barack Obama will call for new government spending on infrastructure, education and research in his State of the Union address Tuesday, sharpening his response to Republicans in Congress who are demanding deep budget cuts, people familiar with the speech said.

Mr. Obama will argue that the U.S., even while trying to reduce its budget deficit, must make targeted investments to foster job growth and boost U.S. competitiveness in the world economy. The new spending could include initiatives aimed at building the renewable-energy sector—which received billions of dollars in stimulus funding—and rebuilding roads to improve transportation, people familiar with the matter said. Money to restructure the No Child Left Behind law's testing mandates and institute more competitive grants also could be included.
How can you reduce the deficit and call for new spending? You can't! But it sounds good to RINO's like John McLame, who slop it up like tomato soup.

Speaking on CBS' "Face the Nation," the Arizona senator had some praise for the man who defeated him in the 2008 presidential election.

"The president, I think, has learned a lot in the last two years as any president does. He is a very intelligent man. I think he's doing a lot of right things," he said.

"I think the president has already changed a great deal. … He's going to be talking about cutting spending. That's what the message of the November election was. He'll be saying some things that we don't agree with, but obviously with the new appointments, with an agenda where he wants free trade agreements passed."
Cue up the Doobie Brothers for John McLame:

Never mind that, at last year's SOTU, Obama said jobs would be his number one focus as well.

Too Good To Pass Up: Hitler Finds Out Olbermann Fired By MSNBC

From The Hope for America:

Apparently, Keith the good liberal wanted more money.

Keith Olbermann Becomes Victim Of Obama's Wreckovery, Fired At MSNBC

Maybe Comcast decided he was too much, and decided to can MSNBC's High Priest of Hate, Keith "Droopy" Olbermann.

As Human Events reports, the departure raises a lot of questions as well.
(W)ho told Olbermann that this was going to be his last show?

Did the orders come from Comcast executives, despite denials from MSNBC, a mere three days after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the merger between NBC and Comcast?

Or did the orders come from MSNBC’s top executive Phil Griffin (?), who has butted heads with Olbermann numerous times before.

In a statement, MSNBC did not offer any clues:

MSNBC released a statement stating “MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract. The last broadcast of ‘Countdown with Keith Olbermann’ will be this evening. MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Whatever the case:

From "Aunt Jemima" To "Pulling Trains," Lib Hatemonger John "Sly" Sylvester Strikes Again

I knew the name of liberal radio host John "Sly" Sylvester sounded familiar when I saw this on Michelle Malkin's website.
(Wisconsin) Lt. Gov. (Rebecca) Kleefisch is a wife, mother of two, cancer survivor, journalist, and free-market advocate who is trying to persuade businesses to come to Wisconsin through cold phone calls.

This is what John “Sly” Slyvester said in an on-rant about Lt. Gov. Kleefisch’s personal and political life (transcript via Freedom Eden):

“SLY” SYLVESTER: How amateurish is it to have Rebecca Kleefisch, who, I don’t know, she has some like little panty business in her basement or something, I don’t know. She’s hardly a, she’s hardly an entrepreneur. You know what? You know how amateurish that is? Cold-calling?

(Mocking Kleefisch in high-pitched, slurred voice)

‘Would you like to move to Wisconsin? Would you like to move CouponCabin to Wisconsin? I’m Rebecca Kleefisch. I perform fellatio on all the talk show hosts in Milwaukee. And they endorse me and that’s how I became lieutenant governor. And then I got colon cancer and I ran around the state to help people. Even though I have government health care, screw everyone else.’

I had heard at one point Rebecca Kleefisch pulled a train, but that must have been a different story I was reading about.

“Pulled a train” is vulgar slang for group gang rape.

The MSM coverage of this filth-monger dances around his exact sexual slurs — they refer to “explicit” slurs without explicitly informing you — which is why I spelled them out for you.
Mocking her cancer and attacking her sexually? Calling it sick is putting it mildly, but it is standard far for the Left, and not surprising that a liberal can get away with this kind of misogyny. However, it seems Sylvester feels emboldened by his management to broadcast this garbage out of his cesspool, especially when they did nothing in November 2004 after he made racist comments that would have landed a conservative in an unemployment line.
On his radio show Thursday, John Sylvester of WTDY-AM in Madison called (Condoleezza) Rice an "Aunt Jemima" and said she isn't competent to be secretary of state. He said he used the term to describe Rice and other blacks as having only a subservient role in the Bush administration.

Rice has served as President George W. Bush's national security adviser and was named this week to replace the departing Colin Powell as secretary of state. Sylvester also referred to Powell as an "Uncle Tom."

...On Friday morning's show, he refused to apologize to Rice or Powell, but did apologize to Aunt Jemima for comparing her to Rice.

"If there are any African-Americans that took exception with my characterization, I like Aunt Jemima, and in no way meant that Aunt Jemima was a hack or untrustworthy," Sylvester said.

Sylvester said on the air he'd resign if his employer, Midwest Family Broadcasting, lost advertisers or was hurt by the uproar. Sylvester said Midwest Family is the best company he's worked for, and although management may not share his opinions, he said he respects his bosses for allowing him to speak his mind.
When does racist and sexist comments count as family broadcasting? When the Left does it, and gets away with it.

Don't Buy Into "Operation Demoralize"

If we're going to start talking about "The Big Lie," let's discuss the one that the lapdog media throws about about Sarah Palin and Tucson, in their efforts to drive her out of a possible 2012 bid.

It's been pretty despicable of some "Republicans," media types and bloggers who are now buying into this Big Lie, refusing to come to her aid and also buying into the liberal narrative that she should forget about running for President. I named and shamed three possible GOP contenders for 2012 the other day, now I have to mention Powerline blog.

The time has come to put any thoughts of Sarah Palin running for President to rest. I say that not because I dislike her; on the contrary, I'm a fan. I think she did an excellent job as a vice-presidential candidate in 2008 and has been an effective spokeswoman for conservative causes in the years since. But there is no way she is ever going to be elected President, and the sooner Republicans get over that idea, the better.

[citing a recent CNN Poll]

No one with a 59 percent unfavorability rating among independents has the chance of a snowball in Hell of being elected President. 2012 will be a vitally important election year; it is no time for a kamikaze Presidential campaign or for a cult of personality. Republicans (and conservatives) need a candidate who has a chance to win against an incumbent who, despite everything, is not particularly unpopular and who won't be able to do much visible damage between now and then.

One hopes that Governor Palin will see the writing on the wall and devote her energies to helping the conservative movement and other, better-positioned candidates rather than to pursuing a Presidential ambition that can only prove destructive.
Prof. Jacobson at Legal Insurrection says it best, and I'm echoing this piece.

Why is such an announcement necessary now, at the very moment that the conservative movement is trying to fight back against the mainstream media campaign related to the Tucson shooting?

You can throw Palin under the bus if you want, but what will you do when the next candidate faces blistering false accusations which drive negatives high after a mainstream media feeding frenzy?
That's a good point. Remember how the media and all the other elites like David Frum told us we had to forget about finding another Reagan, that we had to lean to the center. They always pointed to John McLame was the ideal GOP candidate. Well, if that's the case, why isn't he in the oval office now? All that media hype and love for McLame didn't relate to votes. In fact he had some photos of him altered to show blood running from his mouth, or getting pooped on.

Why do you think she has become the focus of this tragedy in Tucson? It's part of the liberal plan--get rid of her, and some elitist Republicans and many 2012 candidates aren't gentlemen enough to come to her aid.

No, I'm definitely NOT succumbing to Operation Demoralize. Palin is still, even more than ever, my first choice in the primary, should she decide run. As far as I'm concerned, CNN, David Frum, Chris Matthews and Joe Scarboring have no business telling me or any other conservative who we should vote for in 2012. Let the voters decide.

So Much For Democrat "Civility": Nazi Comparison, Race Card Thrown At GOP

The Democrats "New Tone" today was the same as the old one. Go back to their tried and true playbook and yell "Nazi," "RAAAAACIST" and "You're Killing People."

(The Hill):

Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen (Tenn.) on the House floor Tuesday night compared Republican claims about the healthcare reform law to lies perpetrated by the Nazis that led to the Holocaust. Cohen, who is Jewish, made his remarks during floor debate over the GOP bill to repeal the law.

"They don't like the truth so they summarily dismiss it," he said. "They say it's a government takeover of healthcare. A big lie just like [Nazi propaganda minister Joseph] Goebbels. You say it enough and you repeat the lie, repeat the lie, repeat the lie until eventually people believe it. Like blood libel, that's the same kind of thing.

"The Germans said enough about the Jews and people believed it, and you have the Holocaust," he added. "You tell a lie over and over again."

Tell a lie over and over again...kinda like Democrats and their media lapdogs have been doing about Sarah Palin for the last nine days?

Race baiting James Clyburn played the race card as well (Gateway Pundit):

Doctor King also taught us that the time is always right to do right. After nearly a century of debate last March the time was right. And getting rid of these discriminatory practices was the right thing to do(?) And, that is the reason I call the bill the Civil Rights Act of the 21st Century. Interestingly, today we hear the same rhetoric about repeal of patients rights that we heard regarding voting rights.
Another race-batier, Sheila Jackson-Lee, said a repeal of Obamacare would be "killing Americans."

What happened about all this talk of civility from all you libs? This is the way you operate. Like the heel wrestler who is in the midst of getting pummeled, he distracts with a 'hands up' begging for mercy, as a ploy to land a low blow.

Any Republican who still goes along with this sitting side by side with Democrats idea for the State of the Union address after today is a spineless eunuch. I know what this phony cry for "civility" means, we're supposed to shut up because the libs can't take it they lost.

Hey libs, take your phony civility lectures and stick them up your @$$! How's that for a New Tone?

245 to 189 for repealing Obamacare.

Three Democrats (Dan Boren of Oklahoma, Mike McIntyre of North Carolina and Mike Ross of Arkansas) voted on the side of Freedom.

Eugene Robinson & David Frum To Sarah Palin: Shut Up & Get Back In The Kitchen

Not literally, but that's the attitude of these two political pundits.

Robinson, a liberal writer for the Washington ComPost whose writings are essentially love letters to the Obama Regime, wrote the following:
IN the spirit of civil discourse, I'd like to humbly suggest that Sarah Palin please consider being quiet for a while. Perhaps a great while.

At the risk of being bold, I might observe that her faux-presidential address about the Tucson massacre seemed to fall somewhat flat, drawing comparisons to the least attractive public moments of such figures as Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew. I could go so far as to observe that Palin almost seemed to portray herself as a collateral victim. Surely a former governor of Alaska - who served the better part of an entire term - would never seek to give the impression that she views any conceivable event, no matter how distant or tragic, as being: All About Sarah.
Frum, is an alleged conservative who regularly attacks real conservative candidates and radio hosts for promoting conservatism. He thinks being more liberal and abandoning the principles of Reagan is the future for the GOP. He went on that bastion of liberal insanity called MSNBC and commented on Palin's appearance on Sean Hannity's show.
“She should stop talking now. ...There is no one left in America that would blame her.” ...What should have happened was that one video released should have been the end of it.”

Well, the problem is, what are you supposed to do when you have so many false allegations flying against you by lapdogs like the Washington ComPost and MSNBC?

She had to say something to counter the lies, contrary to Obama's lover Eugene Robinson's ridiculous "it's all about Sarah" claim. Notice also how he (in true liberal fashion) brings up Nixon and Agnew, though it could be argued that the Obama Regime is more Nixonesque than anything Palin has done.

Frum is, well, just Frum. He's desperately seeking an audience and like his liberal friends, is using this tragedy to promote his "No Labels" agenda.

I've got a label for them. Robinson and Frum are acting like typical male chauvinists, beating up on the girl and telling her to shut up and take it.

Besides, when George W. Bush was being lied about by the liberals and didn't respond, that strategery didn't help him.

McCain, Giuliani, Newt: Profiles in Cowardice

For the last week, the Democrat Party, liberal bloggers and their lapdogs in the media have participated in the biggest lie and misinformation campaign -- the insinuation that Sarah Palin, conservative talk radio hosts, and the Tea Party caused the tragic and deadly shooting in Tucson, AZ.

Never mind that the shooter is a Bush-hating, pot smoking, 9/11 troofer.

When Palin, who has seen her level of death threats rise because of this media slander, responded to this outrage, the same liberals and media piled on again. She appeared last night on Sean Hannity's Fox Network program, and set the record straight again, telling these hateful liberals they won't shut her up.

Liberals like Alan Dershowitz, and former New York Mayor Ed Koch defended Palin from these slanderous attacks. What about members of Palin's own party?

Rudy Giuliani, also a former New York mayor, gave a half assed defense of her on See BS' Slay the Nation (Mediate):

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani appeared on Face the Nation and suggested that in Sarah Palin’s video on the Arizona shooting “she used a wrong word in responding to it, but I can see why she would feel very upset.” Rudy understood why Palin would be “shaken” by the accusations of some to link her to the murders, but implied that some term other than “blood libel” should have been used to express her feelings.
Giuliani is thinking about running for President again in 2012. What's up Rudy? Did your liberal side come out just so you could beat up on the girl you might run against for the GOP Presidential nomination?

Newt Gingrich also attacked Sarah today, as he's also thinking about running (fat chance Newt!) in 2012 as well, and since he doesn't have another book to hawk this week, decided to let his inner-liberal come out (Breitbart via Weasel Zippers).
“I think that she has got to slow down and be more careful and think through what she’s saying and how she’s saying it. There is no question that she has become more controversial, but she is still a phenomenon. I don’t know anybody else in American politics who can put something on Twitter or put something on Facebook and automatically have it become a national story,” Gingrich said about his possible 2012 rival. “So she remains, I think, a formidable person in her own right.
And last, but not least, is Senator John McLame, because he deserves the most shame.

Don't forget that Palin took a lot of flak from many conservatives for campaigning for the RINO McLame in his primary fight last year against real conservative JD Hayworth for McLame's Senate seat. She did it out of loyalty for the man who selected her as his 2008 running mate.

How did McLame pay Palin back for this loyalty? He called Obama a "patriot" after his pep rally speech and, instead of defending Palin, took digs at her.

I'll always respect John McCain for his military service, and for what he went through as a P.O.W. But his refusal to defend his former running mate is shameful and cowardly, the act of a political weasel.

So let me tell you publicly, John McLame, just how much of a disgrace you are. So are you, Rudy and Newt. Sarah Palin showed America again why she has more balls than the three of you combined, which makes her more qualified to be President than any of you three eunuchs.

NAACP's Racism: Covers Up George Washington Statue On MLK Day Ceremony

Remember last year, when the NAACCP issued a resolution accusing the Tea Party of racism, based on a Democrat Media Complex lie that Tea Party members yelled racial slurs at the Congressional Black Caucus?

Now can we accuse the NAACCP of their own racism?

Yesterday, at a Martin Luther King Jr. ceremony in Columbia, Sorth Carolina, the one-time civil rights group covered up a statue of George Washington (FreeNorthCarolina, h/t Sean Casey).

The annual MLK observance at the state house in Columbia SC had an interesting twist this year. The event is held on the north side steps of the statehouse. Prominent at that location is a large bronze statue of George Washington. This year, the NAACP constructed a "box" to conceal the Father of His Country from view so that participants would not be offended by his presence.
Remember that the NAACCP in North Carolina defended the alleged "rapist" in the Duke Lacrosse case, and continued defending her when it was revealed she made the rape up. Another NAACCP chapter defended dog killer Michael Vick.

Note To Washington ComPost: If Sarah Palin So Is Stupid, Why Does She Occupy So Much Space In Your Heads?

Newsbusters has a piece on Richard Cohen, resident male chauvinist liberal of the Washington ComPost, talking about how stupid he thinks Sarah Palin is.
FAREED ZAKARIA, HOST: Richard Cohen, do you have answers?

RICHARD COHEN, WASHINGTON POST: I have nothing but answers. I don't think for a second that Sarah Palin knew the meaning of blood libel. I just don't. There's nothing in her background which suggests it. And if she did, I don't think she used it all that inappropriately. I mean, if it refers to a false accusation for which a community is blamed then she was right.

BERNARD-HENRI LEVY, FRENCH PHILOSOPHER/INTELLECTUAL: Hold on. You think Sarah Palin is stupid enough not to know what a blood libel is?

COHEN: How much time do we have left to talk about how stupid Sarah Palin is?

Answer this Dick, if Sarah Palin is so stupid, why does she occupy so much rent free space in not only your head, but the heads of every other liberal elitist, and some alleged "conservatives" (David Frum, David Brooks, Kathleen Parker) as well? I mean, you libs have nearly the same psychotic obsession about Sarah Palin as Jared Loughner had about Gabrielle Giffords.

Simple answer: You're all afraid of her.

As Predicted: All Barack Channel (ABC) Covers Up Death Threat Made Toward Tucson Tea Party Leader

My freeper buddy BufordP told me, and Gateway Pundit reports that Christianne Amanpour, the Left wing hack who now hosts "This Week" on the All Barack Channel (ABC), not only did not show the video of unhinged Leftist J. Eric Fuller being put under arrest after issuing a death threat to Tucson Tea Party leader Trent Humprhries, she did not mention who the threat was made against!

AMANPOUR: As our town hall concluded, one of the victims of the shooting, who was in our audience because agitated and was detained by security. James Eric Fuller, who was shot twice last Saturday, took offices at what another audience member had said and mumbled what seemed to be a threat. He was charged with a misdemeanor and involuntarily committed according to the Pima County Sheriff’s office.

Video of unhinged Leftist Eric Fuller arrested that ABC won't show you, but Fox News will.

To share your thoughts and comments on what you’ve seen this morning, join us at the This Week page on Facebook where we will keep this conversation going.

The Blaze has the following video, and at about 50 seconds, you hear a muffled "you're dead!" but no video of the unhinged Leftist being taken out.

This other video fron The Blaze has comments that differ from the transcript above, in that Amanpour said Fuller "appeared" to make a threat towards " a member of the Tea Party." No mention of "you're dead" or the "you whores" he yelled at the audience afterwords.

So much for objectivity.

Charles "Icarus" Johnson, are you happy now, you hateful pothead moonbat?
