Obama Shuns Family Of Fallen Soldier: Dem Senator Sends Condolence Letter With Wrong Name

Utterly disgraceful and disrespectful. But then again, we know how Obama and the elected Democrats really feel about our troops (Tacoma News Tribune, h/t Alana Burke).

The parents of a Yelm soldier killed in Afghanistan earlier this month have received cards from friends and strangers expressing condolences, and they’re grateful for the support.

“As a father of someone killed, it is overwhelming,” said Lt. Col. Patrick Collins (Ret.). His son, Sgt. Sean Collins, was buried Wednesday at the Tahoma National Cemetery.

Among that outpouring of empathy, two politicians inadvertently stung the family.

One slight came in a letter of condolences the family received from the office of Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash.

At first, the Collins family appreciated that Cantwell had taken the time to send a letter acknowledging their son’s sacrifice.

But the letter misidentified the slain soldier in its last paragraph, which reads:

“Again, please accept my warmest condolences. May your memories of Bryn and the knowledge that he made a positive impact on the lives of so many serve as a source of comfort to you during this time of sorrow.”

The letter was dated Dec. 20 and delivered to Sean Collins’ mother, Linda Collins of Yelm. The error conveyed to the family that Cantwell had sent a form letter.

“They couldn’t even proofread it,” she said. “I’m sure if her son had died, she would’ve at least wanted his name spelled correctly.”

...The other slight came when Patrick Collins called the White House and asked to have President Obama call his ex-wife, Linda, to talk about their son.

He was told that Obama did not regularly make phone calls to the families of fallen soldiers.

Later, Patrick Collins read a story about Obama’s phone call to Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie. Obama reportedly praised Lurie for giving quarterback Michael Vick a second chance to play football after serving time in prison for running a dog fighting ring.

“That burns,” Patrick Collins said Thursday.

“Any soldier that gets killed in action, you’d think the president would be calling someone in the family. There’s no politics in it. His predecessor did it,” Collins said.

The family of Sgt. Sean Collins certainly is more deserving of a phone call than the owner of a football team in regards to a dog killer getting a second chance to play football.

Compare that to how President Bush responded to families who had lost loved ones in fighting the War on Terror.

Two years ago, we were staring into an abyss. The financial crisis was the worst this country has faced since the Great Depression.

But this Congress passed the largest set of tax cuts for the middle class since President Reagan, the largest education reform since President Johnson, the largest infrastructure investment since President Eisenhower, and the largest clean-energy bill ever.

Now -- even though we still have a ways to go -- the economy is growing again.

Prior to this Congress, lawmakers had talked about reforming health care for almost a century. But with the President leading the way, these folks went out, and -- with you at their side -- they did it. Now 32 million more Americans will have access to health coverage.

When we came into office, just about the entire country had come to realize that "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" was wrong. More than 14,000 brave men and women had been discharged simply because of who they were. With your help, we struck down that law and made this country
a more just place.

Every lawmaker who worked to accomplish these things will talk about their votes -- and the role they played in this progress -- for years. The President and I take great pride in those achievements. But each one belongs to you. You believed in them, you fought for them, and we're darn grateful.

Yeah, what a bunch of lies. All Congress and Obama did was keep President Bush's tax cuts from expiring at midnight tomorrow. Yet, in two years, Bite Me said those tax cuts which are politically expedient now will become evil again when they need liberal votes for re-election in 2012.

Health insurance "reform," (aka Obamacare) was voted in with bribes and backroom deals against the will of the American people. Now, more Americans have seen their insurance premiums skyrocket from this "reform" and the "death panels" that the Regime said was not in the bill, has been added back.

Another lie: gay service members were not blocked from serving in the military under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," they just weren't allowed to be open about it. This Regime, to appease the radical homosexual lobby, put politics ahead of the best interest of our military by foisting their liberal social experiment upon those who defend this nation, despite internal polling info that indicated trouble if DADT was repealed.

Keep in mind there's not one word about what is being done to keep our military in fighting shape to fight a war against Islamic terrorism, and no talk of victory over these jihadists who attacked and continue to plot attacks against our nation. Just making the military more politically correct from a Regime whose two leaders have no military experience whatsoever.

All that stimulus spending and our economy is in worse shape than when these two clowns came into office.

But hey, who cares about the end result? It's all a big f**kin' deal to Bite Me.

NY Sanitation Workers Refused To Remove Snow As Protest, Newborn Dies Because Ambulance Could Not Come To Aid

In other words, union bosses told the city to go to Hell (NY Post via FreeRepublic).

Selfish Sanitation Department bosses from the snow-slammed outer boroughs ordered their drivers to snarl the blizzard cleanup to protest budget cuts -- a disastrous move that turned streets into a minefield for emergency-services vehicles, The Post has learned.

Miles of roads stretching from as north as Whitestone, Queens, to the south shore of Staten Island still remained treacherously unplowed last night because of the shameless job action, several sources and a city lawmaker said, which was over a raft of demotions, attrition and budget cuts.

"They sent a message to the rest of the city that these particular labor issues are more important," said City Councilman Dan Halloran (R-Queens), who was visited yesterday by a group of guilt-ridden sanitation workers who confessed the shameless plot.

And they should not only feel guilt, but these union bosses should face manslaughter charges, as a newborn baby died because an emergency call in Brooklyn could not be responded to for nine hours (NY Daily News).

Where are you, Michael Bloomberg? Don't you think providing emergency services are more important than using your office to act as food police or pushing for the so-called Religion of Peace and the building of their Ground Zero Victory Mosque?

In other news, while New Yorkers dig themselves out of the snow, Barack Hussein Obama is extending his vacation by one day in sunny Hawaii. God knows if George Bush were President and did such a thing, the media and liberals would never stop the criticism.

Media Bias & Thug Tactics Against Christine O'Donnell

The liberal's war against Christine O'Donnell is far from over.

Stories appeared yesterday saying her campaign finances were being investigated by the Feds, after a complaint was filed by the George Soro$ funded CREW (Citizens for Responsibility & Ethics in Washington).

It doesn't help that one of her former campaign workers making these accusations was fired for being a no-show for her job.

O'Donnell called the accusations "thug tactics," and expanded on the allegations in a message which Gateway Pundit posted.

Also posted at GP was a news article from A(O)P (Associated with Obama Press) from yesterday, accompanied by an unflattering photo of O'Donnell. Another A(O)P story this morning uses the same photo.

"Hillary Clinton" Robs Bank In Sterling, VA

No, not the Secretary of State, but someone wearing a "Hillary" Haloween mask robbed a bank in nearby Sterling (Loudoun Times).

A gun-wielding man wearing a Hillary Clinton mask robbed a Sterling bank on Dec. 27, authorities said.

The man walked into the Wachovia bank in Community Plaza about 9:14 a.m., approached a teller, brandished a firearm and demanded cash, according to Loudoun County sheriff’s office reports.

The robber then fled the bank in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported, according to Kraig Troxell, spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses described the robber as a 6-foot-tall black man. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a red shirt underneath, according to reports.

The Dec. 27 robbery is the second time the Wachovia bank in Sterling’s Community Plaza has been robbed this year.

On Nov. 20, authorities said the bank was robbed at gunpoint by Benjamin L. Sebastian, 32, of Inwood, W.Va. ...He remains in police custody.

Authorities are asking anyone who was in the area of the Community Plaza or the Towncenter Plaza at Route 7 and Dranesville Road between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 27 and saw anything suspicious to contact Investigator K. Poland of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 703-777-0475.

Obama's Spokesmouth Robert Gibbs Feels Sorry For Poor Detained Al-Queda Terrorists

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs says it's unfortunate that some terrorist suspects at Guantanamo Bay need to be held indefinitely without trial.

"Some would be tried in federal courts, as we've seen done in the past. Some would be tried in military commissions, likely spending the rest of their lives in a maximum-security prison that nobody, including terrorists, have ever escaped from. Some, regrettably, will have to be indefinitely detained," Gibbs said in an interview aired Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," describing Obama's beleaguered plan for closing Guantanamo.

The press secretary quickly sought to clarify his comments by adding, "I say 'regrettably' not because it's a bad thing for - necessarily for them in terms of the fact that they're very dangerous people and we have to make sure that even if we can't prosecute them, we're not putting them back out on the battlefield."

Sure you didn't mean it's a bad thing, Mr. Fibbs! Coming from a Regime that treats journalists who dare to question your boss with contempt, yet you feel sorry for the people who plot to kill Americans.

CNN is Obasmic: Barack Hussein Obama is trying to channel Ronald Reagan:

President Obama is spending his Hawaiian vacation reading up on a Republican icon.

The president is currently reading a biography of former President Ronald Reagan by Lou Cannon, according to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

Gibbs revealed the president's choice Friday on Twitter during a two hour question-and-answer session.

Read all the books you want about Reagan, but you'll NEVER be anything like him: Barack Hussein Obama.

Why?

Because Ronald Reagan believed not in himself, nor government. He believed in the greatness of the American people and American exceptionalism--something you have no belief in.

Ronald Reagan wasn't afraid to challenge the Communist Soviet Union, calling it an "evil Empire." He was willing to stand up to evil and confront it elsewhere and didn't mince words. You're not just unwilling to admit that Islamfascism is at war with America and the West; you're constantly trying to appease it.

Not only will you never be anything close to Ronald Reagan, you wouldn't be worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as him.

But I know why you're doing it, it's the latest attempt at "how can I fool you now" spell on America with the help of your friends at CNN.



One more thing, CNN, Ronald Reagan was more than a "Republican Icon," he is an American Icon.

Biden: Tax Cuts Will Be Evil Again In Two Years

Vice President Bite-Me is out of the rubber room today, saying those evil Bush tax cuts, which were not so evil since Barack Hussein Obama extended them again, will be evil once again in 2012 when they need their liberal base for the election (CNN).

Hot off the heels of passing a bipartisan tax compromise, Vice President Joe Biden said the administration will hold the line when the tax cut rates expire in two years.

"That's why I think I felt confident in being asked by the president to negotiate a deal of taxes that the equities and the economic imperatives will be to not extend the high-end tax cut that will cost 700 billion dollars over 10 years," Biden said Friday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

By then he said Americans will look objectively at spending and see the need to make cuts. The plan recently passed through Congress extends the Bush-era tax cuts for all income levels, including families making over $250,000 a year. The White House wanted an extension only for those making below that level.

So if it was wrong to not raise taxes on the supposedly evil "rich," then why did this Regime decide against implimentation of the Obama Tax Increases, which were scheduled to ring in the new year? I mean, you can't have it both ways. Belive me, if you live in places like New York or areas of California, $250,000 a year ain't rich.

What offends me more than this doublespeak is how Bite-Me, Obama, and all the other liberals don't give a crap about adding to the deficit, except when it comes to giving taxpayers some of their hard earned money back. Raise the issue of more tax cuts, and liberals become worried about the deficit. But when it comes to Obamacare, earmarks, the stimulus in name only--they look at the American taxpayer like some money tree they can shake down whenever they feel like it.

Let's just hope the average American hasn't tuned all this out in 2012.

Lapdog Media Has Obasms Over Obama's Lame Duck "Success," Despite If It's In America's Best Interest

Proving true my claim that the lapdog media (AP, most daily newspapers, and television networks) wake up every morning with the first thought on their minds being "How can I make Dear Leader Obama look great today," they greeted him at a "press conference" with near masturbatory adulation over his lame-duck victories in Congress (Gateway Pundit).

It's even spilled over into what passes as their "reporting." This is today's Washington ComPost online:
In other words, it's all about Obama. It was the same way when, during the Bush years, the same media gleefully reported against some liberal judge ruling against anti-terror laws or some leaked secret as "a defeat for the Bush Administration." In both cases, the media (and many on both sides of the political class) only look at how something will benefit them, and to hell with how it affects the nation as a whole.

Why don't these self-proclaimed watchdogs ever look out for what is in the best interest of our nation? Is the START Treaty detrimental to our national security? Will repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" harm military readiness and morale? You wouldn't know that by reading the ComPost, the New York Slimes, or watching MSDNC, ABC, CNN, or CBS.

Because it's all about making "The One" look great. Never mind more people are out of work, terrorists are becoming bolder and plotting more attacks against us, and more people are going to have a not-so Merry Christmas this year.

Vice Admiral: Russians Outmaneuvered Obama On START

President Barack Obama was outmaneuvered by the Russians and should have abandoned the New START negotiations instead of seeking a political victory, says former nuclear plans monitor Vice Admiral Jerry Miller, USN (Ret).

“The Obama administration is continuing a dated policy in which we cannot even unilaterally reduce our own inventory of weapons and delivery systems without being on parity with the Russians,” Miller told the U.S. Naval Institute in Annapolis, Md. “We could give up plenty of deployed delivery systems and not adversely affect our national security one bit, but New START prohibits such action - so we are now stuck with some outmoded and useless elements in our nuke force.”

After meeting resistance from several Republicans, the U.S. Senate ratified the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) with Russia by a vote of 71-26 on Wednesday.

“The Soviets/Russians were done in by Reagan and our missile defense program because they cannot afford to build such a system,” said Miller. “They instead try to counter our program with rhetoric at the bargaining table. And they won by outmaneuvering Obama. START plays right into their hands.”

Obama and the Russians were aided by numerous RINOs, who were more concerned about looking like nice guys instead of doing what is best for America. To think that a mostly Democrat Congress 30 years ago refused to ratify the SALT II treaty, now look how far we've fallen.

Desperately Needed: Senate GOP Leadership With Balls

After the last few days of watching the Senate, I'm prompted to ask:

Where is the Republican Leadership and why all the cave-ins to the liberals?

The START to Disarm America Treaty, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" repeal, the phony "Food Safety" act--these are important issues that shouldn't be shoved through in a lame duck session. But they have been, thanks to several RINOs like pin-up boy Scott Brown, Susan Collins, et al.

You know the GOP cave-in to the liberals is so bad when even the King of the RINOs, Lindsey Grahamnesty, is blasting Senate Republicans for their feckless leadership (RedState).

In his statement about why the GOP folded like a cheap suit, Graham gives away the game. He says, “I can understand the Democrats being afraid of the new Republicans; I can’t understand Republicans being afraid of the new Republicans.”

As I’ve said for a while, with many people disagreeing, the 2010 election was about moving the Senate GOP right, not moving the Senate to the GOP. This past week makes my case for me.

The Senate GOP is decidedly mushy on many fronts and unwilling for really tough fights except in odd circumstances. The Senate GOP understands that Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Ron Johnson, Pat Toomey, and Marco Rubio are headed to the Senate as reinforcements for Jim DeMint. They are deeply worried because of it.

Why worry? Because the Senate GOP wants to cut deals with the Senate Democrats and they know that just Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Jim DeMint will be able to force deals much more conservative than the Senate GOP is.

So Senate Republicans decided to roll over on big issues now knowing that next year they will be forced further right than they might be comfortable.

Who's to blame? Let's point the finger at Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, dubbed here in a great Chris Muir cartoon as "The Cowardly Lion of the Senate." This guy is following in the tradition of eunuchs like former leader Bill Frist and Trent Lott, people not willing to get their hands dirty for the sake of doing what's best for the country. No, instead, it was all about making sure that Republicans looked like nice guys who could get along with their colleagues across the aisle.

Why couldn't McConnell have held out for a better tax deal? Making the Bush Tax Cuts permanent, no added pork to the bill, and if unemployment was to be extended, let's pay for it with the unpaid stimulus funds.

News flash for Mitch McConnell. There was an election in November where the American voter overwhelmingly said they didn't want anymore of this liberal agenda. Apparently, he didn't receive the message.

So perhaps the first agenda in the new Senate is to get a leader who is willing to stand on conservative principles and not be the GOP lapdog to Obama and the gangster, Dingy Harry Reid.

That means Mitch McConnell should be fired as Minority Leader. Either that, or it's time to put out an all-points bulletin for him....

The Senate Majority Grinch, Stealing Christmas Again...

Just like last year, the Nevada gangster, "Dingy" Harry Reid, is using the Christmas break to pressure the Senate to ram through the Democrat's socialist agenda....while they still have as much power as they can (Politico).

There’s still no clear endgame in sight as Democrats struggle to close out the lame-duck session of Congress in time for Christmas.

The Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty is in limbo, the continuing resolution funding the government is still lingering, a Sept. 11 first responders bill is still on the table and a food safety measure is still awaiting a final vote in the final days of the Democratic majority. In fact, some House aides are not ruling out the possibility of a post-Christmas session to finish the Sept. 11 bill if time runs out this week.

The uncertainty has thrown into serious doubt the one-day schedule the House had planned for the week, and House aides expect the chamber to be in session through Wednesday. The Senate may stay a day longer to finish its work.

...Still, having not passed an appropriations bill all year, Congress is faced with the prospect of a government shutdown if it doesn’t act on a continuing resolution swiftly. The Senate is expected to vote to end debate Tuesday morning on the continuing resolution, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) office said. With the government scheduled to shut down by evening that night, the funding measure is taking priority, so the House is expected to vote on it Tuesday, aides say.

But there’s more on Reid’s to-do list before the end of the session, some of which can affect the work of his lower-chamber colleagues.

Such as paying off the casino bosses who forced their employees to the polls to re-elect the crooked Senate Majority Leader, as well as other power grabs?

Stop START Treaty! Here's How...

Normally, in a sane world, you'd think something like the new START treaty that would adversely affect our national security would be carefully pondered and debated.

But not in the Lame Duck session of Congress, where the gangster "Dingy" Harry Reid is doing everything he can to impose socialism and weaken America in the last days of the Democrat's best chance in years to do that.

Unfortunately, more than a few Republicans have shown no backbone to stand up to this radical agenda.

Republican House Member To Start Investigations Into Radical Islam In America

Back in October, when I attended the protest outside the CAIR Fundraiser (honoring Helen Thomas and featuring 9/11 Victory Mosque developer), I was hearing from people there that Republican House members were promising investigations into radical Islam and groups supporting them.

It appears that is a promise that will (and should) be kept, as Congressman Peter King from New York has announced this is his intention. Of course, the liberal apologists for jihadists, such as the George Soro$ funded Center for American Progress (video below from Weasel Zippers) are bitching.



Also squealing like pigs are the Hamas-linked CAIR, New York's dhimmi Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and the first Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison; all who are throwing around the "McCarthyism" card (never mind that McCarthy was right in principle, but wrong in how he went about it).

Ellison has been linked with CAIR, who were unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land fundraising terror trial, and has spoken at some of their events. One chapter of CAIR in Oklahoma is currently fighting a widely supported voter referendum that would forbid Shariah Law in the State.

So if the Islamic community has nothing to hide, why then the name-calling and resistance to any investigation? Because the Oklahoma CAIR chapter removed the burka covering up CAIR's real intentions--they want Sharia law to replace the United States Constitution, and Islam to become the dominant religion in America.

You wonder how long it will be until Imam Barack Hussein Obama will "stand with them(Muslims) should the political winds shift," as he stated he would in his book, The Audacity of Hope. Will Northern Virginia's top Islamist apologist, "Jihad" Gerry Connolly, attack these Congressmen with the same slander he used against opponents of the Saudi-funded Islamic Saudi Academy?

Are Saudis Trying To Move Ground Zero Victory Mosque?

Nice Deb has links from the Daily Telegraph and New York Post that indicate the Saudi King wants the Victory Mosque at Ground Zero moved away from the site of where Muslims slaughtered nearly 3,000 people on 9/11.

Apparently, the Saudi royal family thinks moving the mosque to the former St. Vincent's Medical Centre would be a good PR move.

It would be good PR, but it also raises the question in my mind, why are the Saudis getting involved in the mosque site? Is this a sign that perhaps the very idea of the mosque came from the Saudis and other Middle Eastern Muslim nations? Keep in mind that Imam Rauf went there this past summer on our dime for a "goodwill" mission, and I'm sure fundraising was part of that trip.

Senate Liberals & Eight RINOs Political Interest Over Best Interest Of Military--Repeal DADT

Bill Clinton's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" rulle, barring open homosexuals from serving in the military, was struck down by liberal Democrats (with the help of a eight Senate RINOs), with no clue on how the Defense Department will proceed in making the transition.

The repeal comes, as results from surveys by military members were cherrypicked by these liberals to show there would be no real harm in the repeal. However, ignored in the survey was the effect the repeal could have on combat troops, and other stats showing one in four would quit.

Who knows how this will play out, and what effect it will eventually have--good or bad. What bothers me is how the people who risk their lives for the preservation of this nation have become pawns in a political game, especially while we are in the middle of fighting two wars. No one, not Robert Gates or anyone else, has come up with a plan into how gays can serve openly in the military. The questions about housing, showers, etc. None of that has been considered, because the Democrats are owned by the radical homosexual lobby--lock, stock and barrel, and they use that pull for votes come election time.

And all these liberals who talk about how this will help national security? How? Honestly, do you think Barbara the Check Bouncer Boxer gives two shits about the well being of our military? She's the same traitor who sided with Code Pinko while our Marines were fighting and dying outside Fallujah. The Obama Regime and Congress is giving the military the lowest pay raise in almost 50 years while they fight the Iraq & Afghanistan wars half-assed, and try to pretend that radical Islamists aren't at war with us.

The military should be allowed to do what they've volunteered to do--protect our nation, not become pawns in some liberal social experiment.

Feds Tell Bank To Remove Christmas & Christian Symbols, But Obama's InJustice Department Sues School For Refusing Teacher's Muslim Pilgrimage

Banks are being told to remove Christmas buttons and Christian symbols by our government (KOCO, via Gateway Pundit).

A small-town bank in Oklahoma said the Federal Reserve won’t let it keep religious signs and symbols on display.

Federal Reserve examiners come every four years to make sure banks are complying with a long list of regulations. The examiners came to Perkins last week. And the team from Kansas City deemed a Bible verse of the day, crosses on the teller’s counter and buttons that say “Merry Christmas, God With Us.” were inappropriate. The Bible verse of the day on the bank’s Internet site also had to be taken down.

“I don’t think there should be a problem with them displaying whatever religious symbols they want to display,” said Amy Weierman, a Perkins resident.

Specifically, the feds believed, the symbols violated the discouragement clause of Regulation B of the bank regulations. According to the clause, “…the use of words, symbols, models and other forms of communication … express, imply or suggest a discriminatory preference or policy of exclusion.”

However, Obama and Eric Holder's InJustice Department is suing a school for refusing to allow a teacher time off to attend their Muslim pilgrimage (WRAL).

The federal government sued a suburban Chicago school district Monday for denying a Muslim middle school teacher unpaid leave to make a pilgrimage to Mecca that is a central part of her religion.

In a civil rights case, the department said the school district in Berkeley, Ill., denied the request of Safoorah Khan on grounds that her requested leave was unrelated to her professional duties and was not set forth in the contract between the school district and the teachers union. In doing so the school district violated the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by failing to reasonably accommodate her religious practices, the government said.

Khan wanted to perform the Hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia which every adult Muslim is supposed to make at least once in a lifetime if they are physically and financially able to. Millions go each year.

Khan started as a middle school teacher for Berkeley School District 87 -- about 15 miles west of Chicago -- in 2007. In 2008, she asked for almost three weeks of unpaid leave to perform the Hajj. After the district twice denied her request, Khan wrote the board that "based on her religious beliefs, she could not justify delaying performing hajj," and resigned shortly thereafter, according to the lawsuit filed in federal court in Chicago.

Berkeley School District compelled Khan to choose between her job and her religious beliefs, the lawsuit said.

The government asked the court to order the school district to adopt policies that reasonably accommodate its employees' religious practices and beliefs, and to reinstate Khan with back pay and also pay her compensatory damages.

Why then, are Christian teachers told pretty much to check their faith at the school room door and there is no protection by this InJustice Department?

The lawsuit was filed in California Superior Court in San Francisco on Wednesday morning.

They claim McDonald’s decision to markets its meals directly to young children violates several consumer protection laws because it exploits a child’s vulnerability.

Joining the lawsuit is a mother, who proves that the biggest problem with children today is how parents have abdicated any responsibility at all with raising their children. Isn't it her responsibility, as a parent, to feed her child? If she doesn't want her child to eat a Happy Meal, tell them "no!" It's that simple. Tell your kids there's something else to eat besides fast food.

The problem today is nothing is any one's fault anymore. Kids see toys in a Happy Meal, and they'll supposedly head like zombies to their nearest McDonald's. Just like when I was a teenager in the 1980s, and all the TV preachers were telling us that listening to rock-n-roll music would somehow possess us to fornicate, drink blood, hold black masses, and worship Satan with animal sacrifices.

The same thing with cigarettes. Idiots still sue the tobacco companies, even though there's been a warning on the side of a pack of cigarettes saying it is "dangerous to your health." Now we have studies saying smoking just one could be the one that causes your heart attack. By that logic, I should have died back in 1986 when, as a high school kid, I took one of Dad's beers and Mom's smokes back in my room. But these same anti-smoking advocates are silent about that hit on the bong, hash pipe or marijuana roach.

Berkeley, CA Tables Resolution Calling Traitor Bradley Manning A Hero

Voting it down would have been much better, but the Mayor of "Commietown," Tom "Bull Connor" Bates, says they "don't have enough information" to vote on this idiotic resolution (CNN).

The Berkeley, California, City Council tabled a resolution Tuesday night that would have declared jailed Army Pfc. Bradley Manning a hero.

Manning is accused of releasing documents to WikiLeaks, a website known for leaking official secrets. Manning is currently awaiting trial on charges of illegally downloading classified material and providing video of a 2007 helicopter attack in Iraq to WikiLeaks.

The vote was 8-0, with one abstention, said Mary Kay Clunies-Ross, spokeswoman for Berkeley's city manager's office.

Mayor Tom Bater said the council didn't have enough information to determine whether Manning is "a hero or traitor."

"We don't even know if he (leaked the files)," Bater said. "We're interested in not trying to make that determination. We are willing to watch it and to consider it in the future, and if we feel it's appropriate to us to make some statement, we'll bring it back to our council."

Bater said those present at the city council meeting had a "great discussion" about topics such as internet privacy, international security and national security.

"So much partisanship, and not enough getting things done," said Antonio Villaraigosa, the Democratic mayor of Los Angeles who traveled across the country to join No Labels' fight against the "excessive polarization and hyperpartisanship of American politics."

"Labels ... get in the way of getting things done," said Tom Davis, the former Republican congressman from Virginia.

The No Labels organizers even enlisted a popular rapper named Akon -- you know him if you like songs about gangstas, heavy on the n-word -- to compose a paean to getting things done. Although bad weather kept Akon himself from making a planned appearance at the event, his "No Labels Anthem" still received its world premiere at Columbia.

Yeah, I remember Akon, a guy who engaged in a live sex act onstage with a 15 year old girl. What a way to start a movement.

But when you look at the people involved in No Labels, all you have to do is say "liberal." Michael Bloomberg, Kristen Gillibrand, Charlie Crist, Mike Castle. All joined by alleged conservatives like David Brooks, Joe Scarboring and the contemptable David Frum.

Virginia Judge Rules Individual Mandate In Obamacare "Unconstitutional"

The key provision of Obamacare is ruled "unconstitutional" but will most likely be decided by the Supreme Court (Washington ComPost).

RICHMOND - A federal judge in Virginia ruled Monday that a key provision of the nation's sweeping health-care overhaul is unconstitutional, the most significant legal setback so far for President Obama's signature domestic initiative.

U.S. District Court Judge Henry E. Hudson found that Congress could not order individuals to buy health insurance.

In a 42-page opinion, Hudson said the provision of the law that requires most individuals to get insurance or pay a fine by 2014 is an unprecedented expansion of federal power that cannot be supported by Congress's power to regulate interstate trade.

"Neither the Supreme Court nor any federal circuit court of appeals has extended Commerce Clause powers to compel an individual to involuntarily enter the stream of commerce by purchasing a commodity in the private market," he wrote. "In doing so, enactment of the [individual mandate] exceeds the Commerce Clause powers vested in Congress under Article I [of the Constitution.]

...The ruling comes in a case filed by Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II (R), who said he was defending a new state statute that made it illegal to require people to carry health insurance in Virginia.

"I am gratified we prevailed," Cuccinelli said in a statement. "This won't be the final round, as this will ultimately be decided by the Supreme Court, but today is a critical milestone in the protection of the Constitution."

...According to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, a slim majority of all Americans - including almost all Republicans - oppose the health-care reform law. But the legislation's detractors are split on whether and how much of it should be rolled back.

However, in contrast to the ComPost's biased polling, Rasmussen Reports shows that support for repealing Obamacare has hit its highest level (60 percent) since September.

"Today Judge Hudson ruled against the Obama Administration on three essential points involving Obamacare: 1. Individuals who do not actively participate in commerce -- that is, who do not voluntarily purchase health insurance -- cannot be said to be participating in commerce under the United State Constitution's Commerce Clause, and there is no Supreme Court precedent providing otherwise; 2. The Necessary and Proper Clause of the Constitution cannot be used as a backdoor means to enforce a statute that is not otherwise constitutional under Congress's enumerated powers; and 3. There is a difference between a tax and a penalty, there is much Supreme Court precedent in this regard, and the penalty provision in Obamacare is not a tax but a penalty and, therefore, is unconstitutional for it is applied to individuals who choose not to purchase health care.

"Judge Hudson's ruling against the Obama Administration and for the Commonwealth of Virginia gives hope that the rule of law and the Constitution itself still have meaning. Landmark Legal Foundation has filed several amicus briefs in this case, at the request of the Commonwealth, and will continue to provide support in the likely event the Commonwealth is required to defend this decision in the Fourth Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court. Landmark would also like to congratulate Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and the excellent lawyers in his office for their superb legal skills.

"It is a great day for the rule of law and the citizenry. Judge Hudson's ruling is ironclad, and General Cuccinelli deserves an enormous amount of credit for taking on this matter. We look forward to continuing to work with him."

She was in Haiti over the weekend, as the guest of the Rev. Franklin Graham, to look at the humanitarian crisis there in the aftermath of the earthquake. However, the media went to work trying to create some kind of "scandal."

That photo and caption set off rabid attacks on Palin from the Huffington Post, the U.K.'s Daily Mail and, of course, Palingates.

The photo does indeed show Sarah Palin standing with her husband Todd as a woman whose face is obscured uses two hands to fix the hair on the right side of Palin's head.

However, one can observe that the woman is white, with her brown hair pulled back in a ponytail, wearing a white shirt with a bulky scarf and dark pants.

In other photos from Saturday, Todd and Sarah Palin's white, brunette, eldest daughter Bristol, who accompanied her parents on the trip to Haiti, is wearing the exact same clothing and ponytail as the "hair stylist" in the AP photo.

That's right, what the Palin-hating AP and others fail to report is that the "hair stylist" is Bristol Palin.

The AP photographer who sent the caption would have known that it was Bristol Palin, but by not mentioning her the AP was able to do a media hit on Palin but still be able to claim they told the "truth" with the caption.

...To reiterate, a daughter helps fix a loose strand of her mother's hair, and it becomes an international scandal. Amazing.

Yet the same media who is so willing to create a phony scandal to attack the former Alaska Governor/2008 Vice Presidential Candidate and first woman President-to-be is silent about the imagery of the President of the United States leaving a press conference, letting a former President take over because he is late for a party?

Does the media not think this is a troubling sign that Obama is sending this nation and the world? The leader of the free world is disengaged and uninterested in doing the job he was elected to do. Attending Christmas Party is more important to the President of the United States than attending to the nation's problems? At a time when millions of Americans are unemployed, or just lost their jobs, and facing tax hikes at the end of the year, the President of the United States turned his back on the nation and headed out to party.

And yet it is claimed by Obama worshipping liberals in the media (and some misguided Republicans) that Sarah Palin is unqualified to be President?

Kill The Phony Tax Rate Extension & Start Over

Or, let's just let the Democrats keep talking, filibustering, whining and bitching about extending income tax rates for everyone.

Before any of you libs accuse me of "flip-flopping" or "hypocrisy," let me say I do support an extension of income tax rates for all Americans. When I first heard of Obama's willingness to do that, with the compromise on extending unemployment, I was willing to take that. My thought was, perhaps we could come back in the 112th Congress and make any unpaid stimulus money pay for the unemployment extension. That's what it was supposed to be for, wasn't it?

Then Friday, the Devil was in the details. I found out from Prof. Jacobson at Legal Insurrection, that the whole tax deal was being larded up with pork, in order to get pissed off Democrats to vote for it. In other words, it is "Let's Make A Deal" Washington style. These phony liberal Democrats NEVER ONCE ask how the taxpayer can afford all their pork projects and socialist schemes like Obamacare. But give working Americans and those who create jobs more of their money back, and they become Scrooges...tightwads. "How can we afford giving tax breaks to the rich?"

Merry Christmas, America!

Not just that, but senior citizens, who liberals have use to scare into voting for them, are getting the shaft. No COLA (cost of living increase) and that $250 in crumbs talked about earlier? Forget about it!

Extending the Bush tax rates is non-negotiable. It should be done. But it should not come at the price of more spending and more debt, in order to "sweeten the pot." If unemployment benenfits should be extended, let's use the stimulus funds or find an area in the budget to cut.

Finally, the biggest threat to this economy, besides the coming Obama tax increases, is Obamacare. Insurance premiums are going up up up!

So, let's start over in January on keeping the Bush Tax Rates. What Obama and the Democrats are doing now is what American's rejected at the polls...the backroom bribes and dealmaking. We shouldn't have to pay for anymore of it.

Valedictorian Of Islamic Saudi Academy Complains His Prison Sentence "Too Harsh" For Conspiring With Al-Queda To Assassinate Bush

You remember him? The 1999 valedictorian of Alexandria VA's Islamic Saudi Academy who was convicted for a 2005 plot with al-Queda to assassinate President George W. Bush (Washington ComPost, via Weasel Zippers).

The life prison term given to a U.S. man who joined al-Quaida and plotted to assassinate then-President George W. Bush was unreasonably harsh when compared to sentences in comparable terrorism cases, the man’s lawyer told a federal appeals court Thursday.

A government attorney countered that U.S. District Judge Gerald Bruce Lee properly concluded that Ahmed Abu Ali’s case was unique and that his lack of remorse demonstrated that he would be a danger to others if ever released from prison.

A three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments from both sides before taking Abu Ali’s request for a new sentencing hearing under advisement. The court usually takes a few weeks to rule.

Abu Ali was born in Houston and grew up in the Washington suburb of Falls Church, where he was valedictorian of a private Islamic high school. He joined al-Qaida while attending college in Saudi Arabia and discussed numerous potential terrorist attacks, including a plot to assassinate Bush, and planned to establish a sleeper cell in the United States.

Abu Ali's Saudi-funded school in Virginia, the Islamic Saudi Academy, also has been in the news for their textbooks for hate towards Jews, Christians and other "infidels." The director of the school was arrested in 2008 for trying to cover up a child abuse case. The director didn't follow Virginia law, but instead followed Shariah law and told the parents to get the girl counseling.

The ISA recently had their lease extended by the Fairfax County Board of Stupidvisors. Gerald Hyland, stupidvisor for the Mt. Vernon District of Fairfax County (where the madrassa is located) even called the ISA "an asset and a good neighbor...a darn good neighbor."

Members of the Westboro Baptist Church announced Thursday plans to picket Saturday's funeral for Elizabeth Edwards in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Kansas-based Church - monitored by anti-hate groups such as the Anti-Defamation league and the Southern Poverty Law Center - is known for its extremist opposition to homosexuals, Jews and other groups.

The church members also oppose the War in Iraq.

According to the church's website, members will hold a protest from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Edwards, the estranged wife of presidential candidate John Edwards, died Tuesday after a six-year battle with breast cancer.

Democrats Reject Dear Leader's Tax Rate Compromise With GOP: Want To Raise Our Taxes

The House Democratic Caucus has voted to reject President Barack Obama's tax deal with Republicans in its current form.

By voice vote, the rank and file Democrats passed a resolution Thursday that said the tax package should not come to the floor of the House for consideration. Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., introduced the resolution.

Said Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas: "If it's take it or leave it, we'll leave it."

Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., said "it's a pretty clear message. We don't like the bill."

Michael Steel, spokesman for Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, noted that Obama has said failing to stop all of the tax hikes scheduled for Jan. 1 would have serious consequences for the economy. He said, "House Republicans agree."

As far as I'm concerned, Republicans should also remind the American people that when their taxes go up in January, they can thank the Democrats for it.

Federal authorities said Antonio Martinez, a recent convert to Islam who called himself Muhammad Hussain, watched videos of Osama bin Laden and mused about "dying for the cause" by joining militant forces overseas.

Unable to afford to travel to Pakistan or Afghanistan, Martinez instead proposed hitting local military installations to send a message. Officials say those plans culminated when he parked an SUV equipped with a dummy bomb in a suburban parking lot not far from his home.

The word Nazi gets thrown around against conservatives like a football at Texas Stadium. Supporters of Barack Hussein Obama with the Fairfax Democrat Party accused liberals married to John McCain supporters of "sleeping with the enemy," Sen. Bob Menendez compared talks with the GOP to negotiating with terrorists, and President Thin Skinned yesterday compared Republicans to "hostage takers."

Now, San Fransicko liberal icon John Burton has accused the Republican Party of "political terrorism," all for wanting to prevent Obama's tax increases at the end of the year.

In the missive today, Burton urges grassroots Democrats to contact House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to implore them to vote against the bargain between Obama and congressional Republicans. At a cost of about $900 billion over two years, the package would extend all the Bush-era tax cuts for two years, extend aid to the long-term unemployed and also lower Social Security payroll taxes.

Obama says the compromise is the best he can get.

But like many liberal Democrats, Burton says the deal is "a capitulation to the Republicans."

"Just as we do not negotiate with international terrorists, we must stand up to the political terrorism of the Republicans in the United States Senate," Burton says.

In the post-Sept. 11 world, those are fighting words that politicians have generally avoided.

"At some point, the American people have to know what kind of people these Republicans are. They may never find out if the Republicans can force their view point on the Administration, splitting the Democratic Party," Burton continues.

"The Republicans rant against the deficit, but they give billions, approaching trillions, of tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires."

The same John Burton who, along with his brother, were allies of the leftist Rev. Jim Jones, before Jones killed 900 of his mostly black followers in Guyana in 1978.

Of course, the only terrorists to liberal Democrats are Republicans and conservatives. But when it comes to Al Queda and other Islamofascist terrorists who attack Americans, Democrats always make excuses for them, advocate for them, and ask "what did we do to anger you." That is, when Democrats aren't palling around with terrorists like Bill Ayers.

Now if Democrat leaders fought real terrorists with the vigor they fight Republicans, maybe the War on Terror would be over.

Burton should apologize and resign. The California GOP leadership is probably too busy looking for their balls to respond to this liberal jerk.

Treasonous Berkeley CA Considers Supporting Traitor Bradley Manning, Resolution Authored By Bob Meola, SDS Comrade & Friend Of Mr & Mrs. Bill Ayers

The socialist, anti-military town of Berkeley, CA (aka "Commietown"), wants to support the traitor known as Bradley Manning, who supplied Wikileaks founder Julian ASSange with some of the classified information the website has leaked (Fox News).

Amid calls from some politicians to press treason charges -- which could carry the death penalty -- against whoever leaked secret cables to WikiLeaks, the Berkeley, Calif., City Council is entertaining a resolution to declare that an Army private accused of leaking some classified information to the website is an American hero.

City Peace and Justice Commissioner Bob Meola, who authored the resolution, told the San Francisco Chronicle that Pfc. Bradley Manning, 22, is a patriot who deserves a medal.

"If he did what he's accused of doing, he's a patriot and should get a medal," Meola told the newspaper. "I think the war criminals should be the ones prosecuted, not the whistle-blowers."

Asshole-In-Chief Obama Calls GOP "Hostage Takers" Over Bush Tax Rate Extension

President Thin-Skinned, Barack Hussein Obama, showed just how much of a little man he is today at the White House, in reacting to his cave-in on extending the Bush tax rates (Michelle Malkin).

“It’s tempting not to negotiate with hostage takers, unless the hostage gets harmed…the hostage was the American people.”

It wasn't enough that he called the Republican's "hostage takers," but the Asshole-in-Chief went further; calling tax cuts "for the rich" the GOP's "Holy Grail" and possible Speaker of the House John Boehner a "bomb thrower."

I'm mean really! Obama showed himself today to be anything but a statesman. He's petty, vindictive, thin-skinned and cannot take any criticism. Look at how he treats FOX News or other members of the press who dare to confront him and his regime.

To call the Republicans "hostage takers" was not just callous, it was stupid. By doing so, this jerk told any terrorist or hostile group that wishes the United States harm that he can meet their demands.

Unfortunately, that's the attitude of liberal Democrats, who demonize conservatives as "terrorists" or "hostage takers" while they refuse to acknowledge the Islamofascism that attacked America on 9/11 and still threatens us today.

Still, the vote on approving the tax rate extension hasn't occurred yet. Part of me wonders if Pelosi and Reid may gather enough votes to kill it, playing "good cop, bad cop" for "The Annointed One."

Nice Deb notes that Obama called extending the current tax rates "irresponsible" two months ago. I guess this is his "Read My Lips" moment. Unlike Bush 41 (or Harry Truman for that matter), Obama showed today he cannot take the heat from his liberal base, or being directed in the right direction by conservatives.

So much for being "post-partisan."

Treasonous Wikileaks Founder Julian ASSange Arrested

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been arrested by British police over sexual assault claims in Sweden.

The 39-year-old Australian was detained by Scotland Yard officers at around 9.30am after he voluntarily went to a police station in central London.

Police contacted Mr Assange's lawyer last night after receiving a fresh European arrest warrant from the Swedish authorities, as anger grows in the US over the latest leaked embassy cables by the whistleblowing website.

Labelling the move as a "political stunt", Mr Assange's solicitor Mark Stephens said his client wants to find out what allegations he faces so he can clear his name.

Mr Stephens has warned any attempt to extradite Mr Assange will be resisted, "mainly on the grounds that he may be handed over to the Americans".

Two women in Sweden have claimed they were sexually attacked in separate incidents when Mr Assange visited the country in August.

In addition to treason, this little SOB should be charged with attempted blackmail over his treat to release encrypted information if Wikileaks is shut down. He, and Bradley Manning, should also receive a date soon with a tree and rope.
