MyFox 5 elaborates:
With more than 220,000 votes cast, Democratic incumbent Gerry Connolly leads Republican challenger Keith Fimian by only about 500 votes in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District race. It's that close.
But not all the votes are counted.
At least two Fairfax County precincts have not been counted because of apparent glitches with the machinery.
Former Gov. George Allen told the crowd at the Fimian party at George Mason University that the votes from those two precincts would be counted between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, with observers from both major political parties present.
“I’m confident we’re going to win,” Fimian told the crowd around 11:30 p.m. “Because there’s a lot of absentee ballots out there.”
