The United States and China reported no major breakthroughs Friday after only their second round of talks about human rights since 2002.At the Powerline link, they quote from the transcript of Posner's comments. This is what he said.
The Obama administration wants to push Beijing to treat its citizens better, but it also needs Chinese support on Iranian and North Korean nuclear standoffs, climate
change and other difficult issues. ...
[Assistant Secretary of State Michael] Posner said in addition to talks on freedom of religion and expression, labor rights and rule of law, officials also discussed Chinese complaints about problems with U.S. human rights, which have included crime, poverty, homelessness and racial discrimination.
He said U.S. officials did not whitewash the American record and in fact raised on its [sic] own a new immigration law in Arizona that requires police to ask about a person's immigration status if there is suspicion the person is in the country illegally.
QUESTION: Did the recently passed Arizona immigration law come up? And, if so, did they bring it up or did you bring it up?Question: Has the idiot Posner actually read the Arizona law, or is he acting on ignorance, like President Thin-Skinned and the Terrorist Enabler Eric "I Can't Say Radical Islam" Holder (who admitted never reading the bill). Never mind that a huge majority of Arizonans and Americans approve of the bill.
ASSISTANT SECRETARY POSNER: We brought it up early and often. It was mentioned in the first session, and as a troubling trend in our society and an indication that we have to deal with issues of discrimination or potential discrimination, and that these are issues very much being debated in our own society.
And these dopes at the State Department fell for the oldest trick that the Communists and other hostile nations use against us. They always use slavery or allegations of bigotry, etc regurgitated by the American Left as a "well, don't lecture us about human rights." Well, unlike Communist China, we don't do forced abortions or censor the Internet (yet). How many millions of people have the ChiComs murdered? Last time I checked, it was in China where protesters against the government were run down by tanks, just because they wanted freedom.
If the Obama Administration wants to apologize for bigotry, how about for the reverse racism being used by Holder's InJustice Department in protecting people who violated voting rights laws. Nashville, TN had disastrous floods two weeks ago and where is the President? Playing another round of golf or basketball? And this President has already shown a disturbing trend of punishing press outlets who dare to ask tough questions.
So if you're going to apologize, Obama, you should apologize for yourself. A growing number of Americans sure are. But I'm sure you're busy perfecting your bow for the next time you meet the ChiCom leader.
