Fourth Blogoversary

Has it really been four years?

After doing a quick look at the calendar, it appears it has been, as I made the first post at this blog on this day in January, 2006.

A lot has changed since then. At that time, I was living in what I liked to call Moron County (Marin County), California, due to the insane, far-Left attitude of the liberal bedwetters who have infected the area since the 1960s. I'd previously taken brief stabs at commentary by contributing to a localy Bay Area website, but took a break from that around 2003 for a variety of reasons. That changed in late 2005, after reading various blogs on the Internet, and frustrated daily with the media bias in Marin, the Bay Area, and nationally, I decided to enter the blogosphere.

Since that time, I professionally became a victim of the credit crunch, as the bust of the housing bubble closed the company I worked for. As a result, I left the Bay Area and now live in the Northern Virginia 'burbs of Washington DC, where I work my day job, raise my family, write this blog, and pursue other activities that interest me.

As I start the fifth year of this blog, the year 2010, and the new decade, it is with a sense of apprehension. Our economy is in the tank, unemployment is at highs unseen since the early 1980s. More seriously, the potential for a repeat of 9/11 or worse attack looms and our security threatened because our so-called "leadership" down the road has proved over the last two months they do not take the threat seriously, will not call it by its name (Islamofascism), and treat acts of terrorism as a criminal matter, like a petty theft, instead of an act of war. At the same time, Congress is ignoring their primary Constitutional responsibility (providing for the Common Defense), focusing on a mad, iron-fisted partisan grab at our health care system, all for the sake of cementing partisan political power, and against the wishes of a majority of the citizenry.

At the same time, the so-called news media has ceased being watchdogs, and are instead lapdogs of this Administration and liberal Congress.

So, during this uneasy time and this all-important mid-term election year, I will remain here, exercising my freedom of speech to pass along information that the lapdogs won't report.

To look back, 2009 was another great year, as readership here doubled, especially in the second half of the year. To those who have included this blog among your daily reads, or have been visiting since our inception, and to those who've just discovered us, I want you to know how much I appreciate your readership and support. At the same time, I'm grateful for the support and friendship I've received over the last four years from other bloggers, media personalities and political candidates who've linked to here, sent messages and just been great, supportive folks. I appreciate your feedback and support more than I could ever repay.

Then there's you liberals, many of whom have been thoughtful enough to send or post insulting messages. Let me assure you that your attacks do not discourage or upset me. They amuse and entertain me, and fire me up to piss you off even more.

So, sit back and hold on tight, the ride has started again. Even more this year, go out and make your voice heard!
