Former VP Cheney Concerned On Withdrawl From Iraq Cities, Anti-Semite House Democrat Says Iran Won Iraq War, Won't Declare US Winner

In an interview heard Monday on America's Morning News (finally being heard in DC on WTNT 570), former Vice President Dick Cheney fears that the withdrawal of US forces from Iraqi cities might "waste" the sacrifice of our military.

"...Former Vice President Dick Cheney on Monday said he is concerned about U.S. forces withdrawing from Iraqi cities within 24 hours.

Mr. Cheney told The Washington Times' "America's Morning News" radio show that he is a strong believer in Gen. Ray Odierno, commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, and that the general is doing what needs to be done.

"But what he says concerns me: That there is still a continuing problem. One might speculate that insurgents are waiting as soon as they get an opportunity to launch more attacks."

More than 250 people have died in Iraq during the past week in attacks and bombings, which appear designed to shake the government's confidence and reignite sectarian fighting.

Much of the violence is in northeastern Baghdad, where hostile acts have occurred about once every other day. "

Later, CNN's liberal commentator Paul Begala attacked the Vice-President for appearing on America's Morning News, my new syndicated radio program heard across the United States.

Outrageously, Begala suggested that Cheney demeaned himself by answering our questions, and then accused him of practically murdering 4,000 American servicemen and women who died fighting the war in Iraq.

It appears that the liberal elite media is getting nervous that America's Morning News is making, breaking and driving the news cycle- just as we promised when we debuted over a week ago.

Begala was joined by another foaming at the mouth Leftist named Ed Schultz on the "Moonbats Spouting Nothing But Crap" (MSNBC) network, where he has the honor of having even less viewers than Keith Olberwuss. Schultz brought up the topic of Cheney's interview with looney Virginia Congressman Jim "I like to hit people" Moran.

Moran the Moron began by attacking Cheney for having never served in the military (never mind that Moran the Moron's Wikipedia biography mentions no military service on his part) then said (video at Real Clear Politics):

"The reality is we should have never gone to war. Iran won the Iraq war there's no question about it, and now he's (Cheney) trying to save face."

Congressman Moron never once mentioned the sacrifice of our men and women serving there or gave them any credit for the change in Iraq. Instead, our troops are the ones who this treasonous bastard accuses of committing "ethnic cleansing" in Iraq.

And disrespect a retired General who reads a letter from the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq.



Just like he treats constituents who don't agree with him.



When he's not slurring our military (or physically attacking Congressmen, his ex-wife or a young child admiring his car), Moran the Moron goes out of his way to also blame "Da Joooooos" for the Iraq War. He did this in 2003 at the far-Left St. Anne's Episcopal Church and in a 2007 Tikkun magazine article.

And shouldn't Dick Cheney have every cause for concern for what he sees today in Iraq? (Bomb in Iraq's Kirkuk kills 20 as U.S. troops leave). Could this be the start of the terrorists in Iraq getting ready to start up the violence?

Cheney said he hopes that's not the case, but you have to wonder after seeing how this new Administration is not on the side of freedom in Iran and Honduras. The terrorists in Iraq see that weakness as well.

And isn't it ironic, how the same liberals who attack those of us for wanting Obama to fail are the ones who have spent the last six years wanting our troops to fail and refusing to acknowledge any of our military's success?

Polls: Obama Back In Negatives, Congress Approval Down & More See Dems As "Too Liberal"

As I said in the last post, let tonight be the high water night for the libs, because it's downhill from here on out.

Once again, Rasmussen reports has Obama's Approval Index at minus 2 points once again. This same polling firm also has Congressional ratings down.

Just 18% of U.S. voters now say Congress is doing a good or excellent job, down from 23% in May.

Forty-seven percent (47%) now say Congress is doing a poor job.

The political division of opinion is little changed. Seventy-one percent (71%) of Republicans and 56% of voters not affiliated with either major political party rate Congress’ performance as poor, compared to just 21% of Democrats.

The survey was conducted on the two day following House passage of a controversial climate control bill. Rasmussen Reports will release data o the climate control legislation tomorrow (Tuesday).

...Only 21% of voters say that, during the past year, Congress has passed anything that will significantly improve life in America. Most (52%) say it has not.However, 52% believe it is at least somewhat likely that Congress will address the serious issues facing the nation over the coming year. That’s down from 62% when Congress returned to work in January. Eighteen percent (18%) say the legislators are very likely to address the important issues.

Seventy-three percent (73%) now say members of Congress are more interested in helping their own careers than in helping people while 14% say the legislators rate helping people as the priority.

Gallup has even worse news for Democrats.

A Gallup Poll finds a statistically significant increase since last year in the percentage of Americans who describe the Democratic Party's views as being "too liberal," from 39% to 46%. This is the largest percentage saying so since November 1994, after the party's losses in that year's midterm elections.

That spending orgy called a "stimulus," record deficits, and the Crap & Tax isn't sitting well with Americans. Now all that is needed is a re-embrace of conservative principles from Republicans, and they will regain the majority.

Obama Administration Silences Governmental Critics of Glo-BULL Warming

Remember that report being supressed by the EPA questioning glo-BULL warming that I mentioned the other day?

The Heritage Foundation writes that the author, Dr. Alan Carlin, has been put under a gag order by his superiors.

Ever hear of Alan Carlin? Probably not, and that is the way the Obama Administration wants to keep it. Dr. Carlin is an Environmental Protection Agency veteran who recently wrote a damaging report, warning that the science behind climate change was questionable at best, and that we shouldn’t pass laws that will hurt American families and hobble the nation’s economy based on incomplete information.

Despite its promise to put science above politics, the Administration has suppressed Carlin’s report, banned him from writing or speaking about climate change, told him to forget about attending any meetings that addressed his main job function—climate change—and gave him a new assignment: updating a grants database. One supposes that, by dedicating its distinguished scientists to data-entry tasks, Obama’s EPA is able to free up true-believing interns to do its research.

Until recently, Dr. Carlin’s assignment was to research climate change issues for the agency. As part of this responsibility, he prepared a 98-page report earlier this year questioning the need for the agency to regulate CO2. His main argument—buttressed by citation after citation of peer-reviewed science—was that the agency’s earlier argument for regulating was based on incomplete science that ignored much more recent (and contrary) studies.

EPA responded by burying the report. As for Dr. Carlin himself, he was put under a strict gag order by superiors. They forbade him from writing, speaking or e-mailing about global warming to anyone outside his group at EPA. Now that his comment has been leaked (available here), the truth can come out.

We spoke to an embattled Dr. Carlin on the phone today, and, though he does fear losing his job because of his opinion, he has the strength of his beliefs. He told us that in 40 years of working for the government, he can’t remember any other time such pressure has been put on him.

But you can hear in his voice that Dr. Carlin, who got his undergraduate degree in physics from CalTech and his PhD in economics from MIT, is not easily silenced.

“I’ve been involved in public policy since 1966 or 1967,” he said. “There’s never been anything exactly like this. I am now under a gag order.”

And remember how the libs accused the Bush Administration of supressing reports proving this fraud called glo-BULL warming existed? Guess who was one of the people crying wolf in making this claim?

Tom McClintock Warns Cap & Tax Will Do More Harm To Economy

California and the nation can be happy that former State Senator (now Congressman) Tom McClintock is in Washington, fighting for the once great Golden State, as well as this nation.

In this speech given on the House floor (and posted on his blog), Cong. McClintock sounds like Paul Revere, warning on how similar legislation to Cap & Tax began wrecking the California economy.

I had a strange sense of Deja Vu as I watched the self-congratulatory rhetoric on the house floor tonight, and I feel compelled to offer this warning from the Left Coast.

Three years ago, I stood on the floor of the California Senate and watched a similar celebration over a similar bill, AB 32. And I have spend the last three years watching as that law has dangerously deepened California’s recession. It uses a different mechanism than Cap and Trade, but the objective is the same: to force a dramatic reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

Up until that bill took effect, California’s unemployment numbers tracked very closely with the national unemployment rate. But then in January of 2007, California’s unemployment rate began a steady upward divergence from the national jobless figures. Today, California’s unemployment rate is more than two points above the national rate, and at its highest point since 1941.

What is it that happened in January of 2007? AB 32 took effect and began shutting down entire segments of California’s economy. Let me give you one example from my district. The City of Truckee, California was about to sign a long-term power contract to get its electricity from a new, EPA-approved coal-fired electricity plant in Utah. AB 32 and companion legislation caused them to abandon that contract. The replacement power they acquired literally doubled their electricity costs.

So when economists warn that we can expect electricity prices to double under the cap and trade bill, I can tell you from bitter experience that in my district, that’s not a future prediction, that is an historical fact.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs appeared on MSNBC's "Hairball" this evening to discuss President Obama's congressional agenda. Gibbs said even though the White House is not "satisfied" and "probably [will] see more job losses" in June, the White House feels "confident" about the economy.

Right, nearly ten percent unemployment, but were confident there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Besides Robbie, we passed judgement on the stimulus months ago. It still sucks!

Brace For Cigarette Tax, San Francisco

I received the following e-mail about the possibility of more taxes on the horizon for San Franciscans (FreedomWorks).

A few months ago, on the way to the office, I witnessed a typically DC self-defeating scene. A man riding on a mini-street sweeper finished the block, stopped to empty the trash in the back, and tossed his cigarette on the ground on his way back to the sweeper. I was a bit galled - and it speaks to larger problems inherent in the system - but it never occurred to me to tax the cigarettes. I was leaning more toward “why not take one more step and throw it in the trash” or “care about your job.”

My naivete has since been exposed thanks to an ingenius plan in San Fran to put a massive 33 cent litter tax on all packs of cigarettes.

Next month, Mayor Gavin Newsom plans to ask the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to impose an excise tax of 33 cents on every pack of cigarettes sold locally, justifying it as a way of forcing smokers to pay for cleaning The City’s streets of unsightly cigarette debris.

See, instead of punishing the litterer, you punish the litter - a great way to make a minority of people bear a whole lot more of the tax burden and the services everyone enjoys, not to mention punishing all the smokers who take a sec to put their butts in the proper receptical. Clearly, this should be extended to anything that comes in a wrapper and fruits that contain cores or pits to bring in a few more bucks.

San Franciscko is headed the way of New York, to the point where they're going to tax everything so much more people who actually have money will be leaving the city.

Honduras' Leftist President Arrested After Attempted Power Grab, Obama & Chavez On The Side Of Desposed Dictator

Leftist President Manuel Zelaya of Honduras has been arrested by the country's military today, after he attempted to circumvent the rule of law and run for a third term as President.

On the side of the Honduras dictator--Hugo Chavez...and Barack Hussein Obama (FOX News).

Obama agrees with his amigo gordo, Hugo, Central American dictators should not be removed by force.

Zelaya, in a move similar to his ally, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, had wanted to overturn the law that prohibited him from seeking another term in office. He called the arrest a "coup" and a "kidnapping."

"I am deeply concerned by reports coming out of Honduras regarding the detention and expulsion of President Mel (?) Zelaya," Obama said in a written statement.

"I call on all political and social actors in Honduras to respect democratic norms, the rule of law and the tenets of the Inter-American Democratic Charter. Any existing tensions and disputes must be resolved peacefully through dialogue free from any outside interference," Obama said.

I guess "That One's" statement that one form of government cannot be imposed on another doesn't apply, except when it's a dictator who needs to be saved. Gateway Pundit links to a WSJ article stating that Obama meddled in Honduras' affairs in trying to prevent the ouster of his (and Hugo Chavez) buddy, the deposed dictator Zelaya.

The Obama administration worked in recent days to prevent President Manuel Zelaya's ouster, said a senior U.S. official. The State Department, in particular, communicated to Honduran officials on the ground that President Barack Obama wouldn't support any nondemocratic transfer of power in the Central American country.

"We had some indication that a move against Mr. Zelaya was afoot," said a U.S. official briefed on the diplomacy. "We made it clear it was something we didn't support."

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined Obama Sunday in criticizing the Honduran coup and calling for the restoration of the democratic process.

Excuse me, Hillary Rotten, but how do you respect the democratic process when the "president" circumvents it?

Obama's actions in Honduras, like his inaction on Iran, is more proof that his administration is "hope and change" not for those who want freedom, but for the purveyors of tyranny, as the Obama Administration proves to be the most hostile administration to the cause of human freedom in American history.

Where's The Transparency? Study Suppressed By EPA Before Crap & Tax Bill Passed

Investors Business Daily writes about how the Obama EPA suppressed a study about so-called glo-BULL warming right before the vote on the Crap & Tax bill.

Climate Change: A suppressed EPA study says old U.N. data ignore the decline in global temperatures and other inconvenient truths. Was the report kept under wraps to influence the vote on the cap-and-trade bill?

This was supposed to be the most transparent administration ever. Yet as the House of Representatives prepared to vote on the Waxman-Markey bill, the largest tax increase in U.S. history on 100% of Americans, an attempt was made to suppress a study shredding supporters' arguments.

On Friday, the day of the vote, the Competitive Enterprise Institute said it was releasing "an internal study on climate science which was suppressed by the Environmental Protection Agency."

In the release, the institute's Richard Morrison said "internal EPA e-mail messages, released by CEI earlier in the week, indicate that the report was kept under wraps and its author silenced because of pressure to support the administration's agenda of regulating carbon dioxide."

Reading the report, available on the CEI Web site, we find this "endangerment analysis" contains such interesting items as: "Given the downward trend in temperatures since 1998 (which some think will continue until at least 2030), there is no particular reason to rush into decisions based on a scientific hypothesis that does not appear to explain most of the available data."

What the report says is that the EPA, by adopting the United Nations' 2007 "Fourth Assessment" report, is relying on outdated research by its Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The research, it says, is "at best three years out of date in a rapidly changing field" and ignores the latest scientific findings.

While all Americans will suffer from this bill written by the treasonous Congressman with the ugliest nostrils, this bill will enrich some, including the modern-day Chicken Little, Algore, who lied to Congress about how he profits from his glo-BULL warming fear mongering.

No wonder he doesn't want to be President anymore. Fear mongering pays good!

Two Questioners Planted By Obama At Press Conference

Kristinn at FreeRepublic writes this report about the planting of "journalists" at Obama's presser yesterday.

It turns out the Obama White House planted two questioners at yesterday's press conference by Barack Obama, a move that further cements the reputation of the media as being complicit with the Obama administration.

The incident also raises uncomfortable questions for liberals who falsely accused the Bush administration of the same practice. The news media's tolerance and complicity.

One of the plants acknowledged Obama's staff chose the topic of his question for him.

Huffington Post blogger Nico Pitney and Spanish language EFE reporter Macarena Vidal were invited by the White House to the press conference and given special access. Obama called on them from a list of questioners prepared by his staff.

While the planting of the Huffington Post shill was much remarked upon yesterday, the planting of the EFE reporter was not noticed until The Washington Post's Dana Milbank reported on it in his column filed yesterday evening. However, he buried the bombshell at the end of his column and the media has ignored this:

Pitney said the White House, though not aware of the question's wording, asked him to come up with a question about Iran proposed by an Iranian. And, as it turned out, he was not the only prearranged questioner at yesterday's show.

Later, Obama passed over the usual suspects to call on Macarena Vidal of the Spanish-language EFE news agency. The White House called Vidal in advance to see whether she was coming and arranged for her to sit in a seat usually assigned to a financial trade publication. She asked about Chile and Colombia.

Liberals went nuclear when an Internet-based reporter was unexpectedly called on by President Bush at a press conference in 2005. The reporter, Jeff Gannon, was set upon and had his life turned inside out and family members threatened because liberals, including Democrat members of Congress, falsely accused him of being a Bush administration plant.

Gannon eventually took and passed a lie detector on the subject and exhaustive investigations by mainstream reporters and liberal bloggers failed to come up with any evidence that he was connected to the Bush administration.

Now that the Obama administration has been caught red-handed planting two questioners at the same press conference, what will the response from the media and liberal bloggers be?

Hanoi John Kerry Now A Contender For 2009 Asshole of the Year Award & Lib Blog Posts Mocks Palin's Down-Syndrome Baby

David Letterman can breathe easier, as he has some competition for the not-so-distinguished title of 2009 Asshole of the Year (Boston Herald, via FreeRepublic).

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. John Kerry must have been channeling his inner Letterman yesterday.

The Bay State senator was telling a group of business and civic leaders in town at his invitation about the “bizarre’’ tale of how South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford had “disappeared for four days’’ and claimed to be hiking along the Appalachian Trail, but no one was really certain of his whereabouts.

“Too bad,’’ Kerry said, “if a governor had to go missing it couldn’t have been the governor of Alaska. You know, Sarah Palin.’’

The Democratic-centric crowd laughed.

I'm sure if this had been John McCain joking about Hillary (or Chelsea) Clinton, these same Democrats would be screaming "sexism" and the National Organization of Witches would be shrieking outside the Capitol.

This isn't Kerry's first lame attempt at humor. If you remember, this reject from central casting for The Addams Family made another back in 2006....

“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

...which basically implied that those serving in Iraq are uneducated.

To paraphrase from a famous 1980s movie, I say to John Kerry that if America wanted a joke that bad we'd follow you into the john and watch you take a leak.

An Apology From One American To Iranians Who Want Freedom From Iron Hand Of Islamofascist Regime

An open letter to Iranians protesting their current regime:

Speaking as one American citizen who has watched your demonstrations, seen your desire for freedom, and who has been outraged by the images coming out of Iran of the violent assaults against you, especially the video of Neda Agha-Soltan’s last moments on Earth after being gunned down by the thuggish regime, I wish to write you the following message.

Many in my country are just as moved by your efforts and angered by the brutal tactics used by the current regime in Iran. At the same time, we are outraged by what we see in our country, as the temporary occupant of our highest office exhibits nothing but indifference to your plight, only moved to make a weak statement of half-hearted condemnation only when he feels the heat of criticism.

As a result, I wish to offer an apology to you, the Iranian people in the streets who want change from your brutal regime. My apology, however, is not for my country, the United States of America. Instead, I apologize to you for the timid, lack of leadership being exhibited by our President, Barack Hussein Obama, as well as the modern isolationists in his Democrat Party.

Our nation has long stood as a beacon of hope, and inspiration for all around the world who seek freedom and liberty. It is no wonder why so many people have made their way to our shores over the years. Because that natural desire for freedom that is in all of us, no matter where in the world we live.

Our nation has been blessed with numerous leaders who risked their political fortunes, and their lives, championing the cause of freedom. Our founders pledged their “lives, fortunes and sacred honor” for the cause. Abraham Lincoln presided over a divided Union over the cause of freeing blacks from the bondage of slavery, led his nation in a fight to reunite the Union, and lost his life by assassination.

In the early 1980s, President Ronald Reagan who stood with the Polish workers in the Solidarity movement, who were protesting for freedom against the brutality of the then-Soviet Union in their nation. There was a moral resolve in Reagan against the communist brutality and oppression, and he wasn’t willing to mince words. He had the fortitude to call the Soviet Union exactly what it was, an “Evil Empire” and “the focus of evil in the modern world.” Despite the fear mongering from American liberals, we saw the results of Reagan’s words and actions. The Iron Curtin over Eastern Europe and Poland fell, the Berlin Wall, a symbol of Communist oppression, fell, as did the Soviet Union.

More recently, George W. Bush championed the cause of freedom in your area of the world, the Middle East, and freed Muslim nations of Afghanistan and Iraq from brutal regimes and ideologies.

In contrast, many here in America see President Obama as someone who is ashamed of this image of America. He’s willing to globetrot the world and apologize for the nation which elected him to lead them. More than that, it is apparent that Obama is revolted at the very idea of freedom, the concept which made America (as President Reagan called her) “a shining city on a hill.” It is not just in his Administration taking over auto companies, promising higher taxes and energy costs (which inhibit personal freedom), threatening our right to keep and bear arms, and attacking political opponents who dare oppose him. It is also that in the idea that spreading freedom to the oppressed world is somehow, “meddling” in the affairs of other nations. In his "Muslim Outreach" speech earlier this month in Cairo, he said:

“...no system of government can or should be imposed upon one nation by any other. …Each nation gives life to this principle in its own way, grounded in the traditions of its own people. America does not presume to know what is best for everyone, just as we would not presume to pick the outcome of a peaceful election."

Yet today, this same President who spoke these words of non-intervention has the audacity to claim this speech as rallying those of you in Iran who are protesting your regime. Never mind how he cut funds for Iran’s Democracy movement and wants to party with Iranian officials on July 4.

The lack of political will of this President, Secretary of State and members of his party to confront the evil regime in your nation is and their refusal to stand with you is an antithesis of all things America. Their callousness toward your plight is similar that of one of Obama's first endorsers for President, a prominent liberal Senator who left a young woman to drown as he pondered the fallout to his political career before calling the authorities to rescue her.

It is a similar callousness this President himself showed as a state senator, when he was willing to turn his back on saving the most innocent lives, those of babies who survived a botched abortion, by opposing a bill which would save their lives.

If one is not willing to speak up in defense of the most innocent, how can they speak out for those who are oppressed?

We Americans who believe in freedom and in your desire for it do not believe one can condemn a regime’s brutality on one hand, and then invite them for hot dogs, hamburgers with Dijon mustard, and Ice Cream on the Fourth of July. We believe, as history has shown, that you cannot make nice with brutal dictators and hope they change their ways. The only option is to defeat them. As Edmund Burke once said, "all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

To you in the streets in Iran. If you seek freedom, if you seek a better way of life, if you seek liberty and rights for all, especially your women, and if you seek peace with the rest of the world, I, and millions of my fellow countrymen are on your side and extend our hands to you in solidarity.

And we want you to know that the tepid voice of President Obama does not speak for all Americans.

Do Your Part To Fight Cap & Trade Bill, AKA "Crap & Tax"

All citizens need to call your representative (regardless of who they are) and tell them to vote "NO" on the so-called Cap & Trade bill, also known as "Crap & Tax."

Because this bill is a giant tax which will be passed along to you, the American people, in the name of fighting so-called glo-BULL warming.

Of course, that is not what "That One" is calling the legislation (Reuters).

At a midday White House press conference, Obama said the climate change bill moving through the House would "transform the way we produce and use energy in America."

With incentives to encourage utilities, manufacturers and other companies to switch from higher-polluting oil and coal to cleaner energy alternatives, Obama said the legislation would spark a "transformation that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil and confront the carbon pollution that threatens our planet."

What "cleaner energy alternatives" do they propose? I don't hear them. Every time they talk about wind, the do-gooders who campaign for it don't want it in their backyards. Let's face it. These clean energy alternatives are pie in the sky fantasies which are nowhere near fruition, but we're being forced to accept them thanks to a bunch of chicken littles who want to destroy an already shaken economy.

How? Read this analysis from the Heritage Foundation.

The idea behind cap and trade is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by putting a price on the right to emit carbon and other greenhouse gases on businesses. Because fossil fuels emit carbon dioxide, cap and trade becomes a costly tax on fossil fuels and the energy they generate. Since 85 percent of America’s energy needs come from fossil fuels, cap and trade would be massive tax on energy consumption if enacted. How high a tax?

The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Data Analysis found that by 2035 gasoline prices would increase 58 percent, natural gas prices would increase 55 percent, home heating oil would increase 56 percent, and worst of all, electricity prices would jump 90 percent.

But the direct tax on household energy use is just the beginning. The energy tax also hits producers. As the higher production costs ripple through the economy, the household pocketbooks get hit again and again. When all the tax mpacts have been added up, the average per-family-of-four costs rise by $2,979 per year. In the year 2035 alone, the cost is $4,609. And the costs per family for the whole energy tax aggregated from 2012 to 2035 are $71,493.

How can working Americans afford this? How can businesses create more jobs if they're required to pay more for energy?

Even Obama said in a 2008 San Francisco Chronicle interview about cap & trade:

When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal…under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket…even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad, because I’m capping greenhouse gasses, coal power plants, natural gas…you name it…whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retro-fit their operations.

But that's not the message these libs are telling you today.

"ACORN Clone" Progressive Future Pimps Obamacare At Your Airport, Mall, Grocery Store

Michelle Malkin writes of being accosted by two Obamabots at Denver Airport.

Don’t have time right now to look them up, but I asked one of the young Obama-bots who funded his group.

He didn’t know.

Wouldn’t be surprised if stimulus dollars or AmeriCorps funding was subsidizing this.

The young man handed me a flyer using “right-wing Republicans in Congress,” “Rush Limbaugh and Fox News” to scare the sheeple into support the government health care takeover.

So I did some searching to find out more about this group. Using the address located on Progressive Future's website (1536 Wynkoop St., Suite 100, Denver, CO 80202), I found the following on a Denver Post directory, links to a Sierra Club chapter (no suite number listed) and a group known as the Fund for Public Interest Research, known now as the Fund for The Public Interest (all with different phone numbers).

On the Fund's "Partners" page, Sierra Club is listed as a highlighted partner, and Progressive Future is listed as a current partner.

As an aside, Fund for Public Interest Research looks like it has some former workers who are warning potential activists that the group lies to them.

Pronk Palisades called Progressive Future being an ACORN clone in October 2008.

Voters and students be aware that ACORN and its affiliates is not the only “get out the vote” for Obama organization trying to register new voters.

A new one on the scene is Progressive Future.

Looks like getting out paychecks for their part-time employees is a challenge for Progressive Future.

A blogger known as Jot by Jot looks like he also ran into some of the Progressive Future types on a trip to the shopping center (excerpted).

The other day I was walking around a shopping center as I was suddenly approached by a young woman from Progressive Future. She seemed very friendly and gave her pitch on how it is important to support Obama and ensure that he provides Americans with the change he has promised. Ok, fair enough, but somewhere lingering in the back of my head I was wondering: why in the world would you be wasting your time on the street just to tell people to support Obama. After all, he has already been elected. I quickly realized that her views did not only come from the left, but rather that the views she was promulgating through Progressive Future was extremely liberal. She said Republicans in Congress are hindering Obama’s success and many are hoping Obama fails. While Rush Limbaugh certainly made an inappropriate remark to this nature, there are a few reasons why I can never support Progressive Future. Progressive Future uses false advertising. It is too left wing to the point of total disregard anyone opposing a few of their political beliefs – not very progressive if you ask me. What also annoyed me was the fact that representatives of Progressive Future are wasting their time outside of shopping areas soliciting money.

Hi! I came across of couple of college-age people from Progressive Future as I was walking into the grocery store yesterday evening. I was asked if I wanted to stop Rush Limbaugh. I was confused with the question, "stop" him? The freedom of speech ammendment came to mind and I mentioned this to the young man.

Leave it to so-called "progressives" who are scaring people in order to get their socialist agenda (which is anything but progressive) passed.

I'll be on the lookout for any similar Obamabots in the local grocery store, mall, etc.

A commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards has been arrested for refusing to obey Iran's Supreme Leader, according to reports from the Balatarin website.

General Ali Fazli, who was recently appointed as a commander of the Revolutionary Guards in the province of Tehran, is reported to have been arrested after he refused to carry out orders from the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to use force on people protesting the controversial re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Could this be a beginning of a revolt among the guards who are most responsible for protecting the Islamofascist regime?

Congressman Mike Pence was interviewed by Washington News Observer and says the following in the video interview below.

Meanwhile, Rasmussen Reports' daily Presidential tracking survey for today shows Barack Hussein Obama has gained one point from his two point negatives over the weekend, but is still in negative territory in their Presidential Approval Index.

Rasmussen also reports that while most voters still blame Bush for the economic downturn, more are beginning to see this as Obama's failed economy, echoing Rep. Pence's words. Also, the polling firm finds that consumer confidence is at the lowest level in two months.

Looks like the New York Slimes will have to commission another slanted poll for their propaganda rag.

PETA's Next Publicity Stunt, Che Guevara's Grandaughter To Promote Vegetarianism

Never ones to shy away from controversy, the publicity whores at PETA (People Euthanizing Thousands of Animals, aka People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) have come up with their latest marketing gimmick to promote vegetarianism to South America.

Use the granddaughter of Cuba's Marxist mass murderer (and the guy on t-shirts of clueless, middle-class white kids) Che Guevara (AP Yahoo News).

NEW YORK – The granddaughter of Cuban revolutionary leader Ernesto "Che" Guevara is at the forefront of another revolution — for vegetarianism.

Lydia Guevara poses semi-nude in a PETA campaign that tells viewers to "join the vegetarian revolution," said PETA spokesman Michael McGraw.

The print campaign is expected to debut in October in magazines and posters, McGraw said. It will be launched first in Argentina, where Che Guevara was born, and then internationally. PETA approached the 24-year-old in recent months after finding out she was a vegetarian, McGraw said.

In the ad, Lydia Guevara wears camouflage pants, a red beret, and bandoliers of baby carrots while standing with one fist on her hip and the other outstretched.

"It very much evokes the tag line of the ad, which is 'Join the vegetarian revolution,'" McGraw said. "It's an homage of sorts to her late grandfather."

Yeah, but her grandfather wasn't snacking on a carrot when he had political opponents gunned down in cold blood.

Making fun of Rudy Giuliani's prostrate cancer, having models use broccoli to masturbate in an ad and now using the descendant of a communist mass murderer to promote their diet?

I'm afraid to think of what PETA will think of next.

"Don't You Know Who I Am?"

California Senator (and former resident Moron of Marin County) "Bouncing" Barbara Boxer illustrated yesterday not just her contempt for the military, but her reputation as a snotty assed...well, I think I'll stop there (Politics Daily).

At a sometimes contentious Capitol Hill hearing Tuesday, Senate Environment and Public Works Committee chairwoman, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), had a request for Army Corps of Engineers division leader, Brigadier General Michael Walsh.

During a terse exchange, as Boxer pressed Walsh on why the levees in New Orleans are still not repaired nearly four years after Hurricane Katrina, she said to Walsh:

"Could you say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am? It's just a thing. I worked so hard to get that title. I'd appreciate it."

The general's response? "Yes, Senator."

Senator Jim Demint took exception to Babsie's treatment of Gen. Walsh (Real Clear Politics).

Mr. DeMint called Mrs. Boxer "a loose cannon."

"For her to try to embarrass him in front of the public -- I just can't put up for that kind of thing -- if people think too much of themselves," he said.

He added that "ma'am" is "the highest title" -- higher than senator or congressman.

About 11 years ago, before I became really politically active, I had a co-worker who I don't remember ever really talking about politics. This was during Boxer's first run at re-election for the Senate. When someone brought up Boxer's name one day, this co-worker suddenly had an opinion of Boxer which was based on two things the Senator had done. Based on "Ma'am's" behavior, it's a pretty accurate telling of her behavior.

Before being elected Senator, Boxer represented Marin & Sonoma counties in the district now represented by Looney Lynn Woolsey (she was a writer for the free hippie weekly tabloid Pacific Sun before that). In the early 1990s there was this little incident called the House Bank Scandal, where several members of Congress bounced checks like they were basketballs. One of the biggest, if not the biggest check bouncers? Barbara Boxer (143 bad checks totaling $41,417 over a three-year period ). What was her punishment? She got promoted by California's liberal voters to Senator. Kinda like "Jihad" Gerry Connolly. Trash Fairfax County, VA's budget, side with jihadists and get promoted to US Representative.

The second item involved a crackdown in the Marin County town of Greenbrae on unpaid traffic tickets. One of the people with outstanding tickets, and I'm don't remember how high up on the list in unpaid tickets--Barbara Boxer. When the officials went to her house in Greenbrae (she's since moved to Oakland) to serve her with a summons, her response to them was the following:

"DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"

Yes ma'am we do know who you are, a shrieking Yenta who thinks way too highly of herself.

LGF Charles "Icarus" Johnson's "Right Wing Extremist" That Wasn't & Anti-Illegal Group Issued Advisories On One Of The Accused

Charles "Icarus" Johnson at Little Green Footballs (that was his name when he was plucking six strings with Al Jarreau, George Duke, et al) has been drooling at the mouth for examples to prove he was somehow "right" in telling us that the DHS smear document against conservatives and veterans was no big deal.

So, he came upon a story of a horrific murder committed by anti-illegal immigrant "activists," which also included the killing of a nine-year-old girl. Jason Eugene Bush, Shawna Forde and another person were charged with the murders.

Johnson took a post from the anti-illegal group Minutemen for American Defense claiming Bush was a military veteran. Yesterday, Jonn at This Ain't Hell, who has been great at exposing a long chorus of phony soldiers, posted some research he did that showed that there was no proof Jason Eugene Bush ever served in the military.

It seems this Jason Eugene Bush isn’t a veteran of anything except the justice system. He’s probably not even a right wing extremist, just your run-of-the-mill, everyday sociopath.

I spent two days verifying all of this with police forces and journalists.

I hope Charles Johnson can find it in his heart to apologize to veterans for his cut on us, as I’ve always admired him as a blogger until recently. I hope he doesn’t disappoint me.

The truth is that I have nothing but respect for the military services of the US. I’ve made that clear repeatedly at LGF; this site has been a huge supporter of the US military over the years.

My post about Jason Eugene Bush also made it very clear that none of his claims of service had been confirmed.

But even if Bush’s claims were true, it wouldn’t be a cut against veterans to point out that fact. Veterans can be (and have been) criminals, just as with any group in society — in a tiny minority, as in other groups. I really can’t agree that noting Bush’s claim to be a veteran is a smear against all vets, especially when all due skepticism was expressed — and I certainly did not intend it as a smear.

This is where I have a problem with LGF, which was one of the reasons I took this once everyday day read out of my blogroll a couple of months ago. The DHS report on conservatives and veterans was such a broad sweeping generalization about veterans, which he thought was no big deal, and he's been looking for every example he can to prove he's right. That's also in addition to his obsessions with linking "nazis" to some anti-jihad bloggers, as well as promoting creationism (I honestly don't know which he's obsessed with more).

If he wants to believe in creationism, that his business. But how can anyone claim to support the US military, yet agree with the smears against vets in the DHS report, and go out of their way to prove it?

If Charles Johnson supported our military, why were there ten (10) stories during the first few days of June about Dr. Tiller's murder compared to two (2) on the murder of Pvt. William Long by a Muslim jihadist convert? Seems to me Little Green Johnsons was as obsessed with the killing of Dr. Tiller as the Obama Lapdog Media, completely burying the killing of Pvt. Long.

None of this is to excuse the murder of Dr. Tiller. Though I vehemently disagreed with him, it was wrong for that lone nut Scott Roeder to kill him. I saw so many on the supposedly evil right say the exact same thing. But to some with an agenda, be it LGF, the Daily Kos or MSNBC (Moonbats Spouting Nothing But Crap), some murders aren't equal, especially when you have the conservative movement to smear.

And here's another tidbit for "Icarus," one of the others accused of murder, Shawna Forde, had numerous advisories issued about her that she was bad news.

Who issued those advisories about Forde? A bunch of "right-wing extremists" called ALIPAC (Americans for Legal Immigration) (h/t Jeff @ Report & Deport).

AG Holder Pushes Phony "Hate Crime" Laws

The politically correct Attorney General (and friend to anti-American terrorists) Eric Holder is doing what liberals do best, using tragedy to push new laws.

That is, the favorite pet law of liberals, hate crimes laws (USA Today, via LGF 2.0).

Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that recent killings show the need for a tougher U.S. hate crimes law to stop "violence masquerading as political activism."

...The violence, he said, "reminds us of the potential threat posed by violent extremists and the tragedy that ensues when reasoned discourse is replaced by armed confrontation."

In order to stop that violence, he said, Congress should pass an updated version of hate crimes legislation, in order to more effectively prosecute those who commit violent attacks based on gender, disability, or sexual orientation.

The growing number of hate crimes against Hispanics also shows the need for tougher laws, Holder said.

"We will not tolerate murder, or the threat of violence, masquerading as political activism," Holder said. "So let me be clear, the Justice Department will use every tool at its disposal to protect the rights ensured under our Constitution."

Earlier, a leading civil rights coalition says there has been an increase in white supremacist activity since the election of the first African-American president.

That must be the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has been making that bogus claim since last year and the Obama Lapdog Media has refused to question them. Need proof? Sweetness and Light has debunked SPLC's phony statistics, showing no real increase in traffic.

Notice also that it's always certain groups only who are selected for protection for these laws? What about members of our military? Forget it. Democrats like Debbie Wasserman-Schultz were outraged that someone would dare suggest veterans should be protected by these laws, saying:

I represent a very large — one of the largest gay populations in the United States of America. One of the largest Jewish populations in the United States of America. My region — our region has a very large African-American population. It really is belittling of the respect that we should have for these groups to suggest that members of the armed services have somehow systematically been the victims of hate crimes.

In other words, this little witch thinks veterans don't deserve protection from violent "peace" creeps, or jihadists like the Carlos Bledsoe Muhammad in Little Rock who killed Pvt. William Long. But Demoncrats are all for protecting pedophiles.

Mr. Holder, Ms Schultz and liberal proponents of hate laws, did you ever hear of the 14th Amendment? You know, from that document you're currently shredding called the United States Constitution. There's something in that section calling for equal protection under the law. These "hate crimes laws" you libs push are not just phony, they're unconstitutional, as the only protect your liberal special interest groups whom you run to for votes.

Lib Senator Questions Obama Firing of AmeriCorps Inspector General

Missouri liberal Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill is criticizing the recent firing of Barack Hussein Obama's firing of AmeriCorps Inspector General Gerald Walpin.

Obama may have broken a law McCaskill sponsored, which states Congress must be given 30 days notice of an inspector general's firing, along with the reason for the firing (AP).

"Loss of confidence is not a sufficient reason," McCaskill said. "I'm hopeful the White House will provide a more substantive rationale, in writing, as quickly as possible."

Last week, Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, asked for information on any role first lady Michelle Obama's office may have played in the decision.

Grassley requested "any and all records, e-mail, memoranda, documents, communications or other information" related to contacts with officials in the first lady's office.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Mrs. Obama played no role in the president's decision to remove Walpin.

Michelle Obama's former chief of staff, Jackie Norris, is expected to join the Corporation for National and Community Service (aka AmeriCorps) as senior adviser on June 22.

The Obama White House did respond, trashing Walpin as being "confused & disoriented."

Walpin led a 2008 investigation into allegations of misused taxpayer funds distributed by AmeriCorps to the St. HOPE Academy of Sacramento, founded in 1989 by Obama supporter and former NBA player Kevin Johnson. Walpin said Johnson, now mayor of Sacramento, misused roughly $850,000 in AmeriCorps funds. His referral to the U.S. Attorney's Office did not result in the filing of criminal charges. But St. HOPE officials agreed, via a settlement, to repay half of its AmeriCorps grants.

Isn't that interesting? This IG gets fired after investigating a supporter of "That One." This stinks on dry ice.

Compare the silence on this to the outrage at the firing of a few US attorneys by the Bush Administration.

The Network Formerly Known As ABC Is Now The Obama Broadcasting Company (OBC)

This should be the new logo of the TV network once known as ABC, the American Broadcasting Company. As of today, it should be changed to OBC, the Obama Broadcasting Company.

Why? The former news network is broadcasting all day from the White House, as the President's propaganda services (Seattle P-I)

ABC News will present an interview and a town-hall discussion with the president on health care issues next Wednesday.

Obama will host the discussion at the White House with ABC's Charles Gibson and Diane Sawyer, who will moderate the discussion with the live audience and take viewer-submitted questions.

The one-hour special will air June 24 at 10 pm/ET on a two-hour tape delay. After breaking for the news, the special will continue on Nightline at 11:35 pm/ET.

Earlier that day, Sawyer will interview Obama on Good Morning America, while Gibson will anchor World News from the Blue Room of the White House in the evening.

This isn't just an interview, press conference or a speech. It is an all day propaganda push by the "News" (in name only) Department of OBC, for the sake of promoting Obama's plan for socialized medicine.

Where is the balance? Where is the objectivity? Where are the tough questions for the President?

None of that.

Last year's election marked the death of journalism, 2009 marks the liberal media morphing into the propaganda wing of the White House, or, as I've now dubbed them, the Obama Lapdog Media.

Is it any wonder why the thin-skinned Obama can't stand Fox News? He cannot stand questioning or criticism, and lashes out at those who do. Just ask Rush Limbaugh, Rick Santelli, Jim Cramer, Sean Hannity.

Today, President Barack Hussein Obama spoke to the AMA (American Medical Association) about his mad rush for health-care reform (AP, via MSNBC).

Of course, "That One" could not counter the facts of those who are sounding the alarm against his so-called "reform." Instead it was the usual liberal tactic of name-calling:

Calling them "naysayers," "fear-mongers" and peddlers of "Trojan horse" falsehoods, Obama warned interest groups, lobbyists and others against using "fear tactics to paint any effort to achieve reform as an attempt to socialize medicine."

This was posted here once before, but now is the time to post it again. This is Ronald Reagan from 1961 warning about the program Obama is proposing.



The Heritage Foundation also released the following report which is a must read, how ObamaCare would wreck Federalism, noting that while Obama promoted the idea of flexibility with the states in the 08 Campaign, he has instead "embrace(d) Federal standards."

No matter where you are on this issue, thinking Americans should be asking themselves, as well as their Congresscritters the following question.

Why the mad rush for health care "reform?"

You would think that, during a recession and rising unemployment, it would not be the time to create a new federal program. Yet, that is exactly what Obama and the Democrats are proposing. Is there a health-care crisis? No. Could our health care system be better? Of course. But let the private sector work that out.

But nooooooooooo! Liberals think that where there are flaws, they have to come riding to the rescue and fix everything. When was the last time the government ran something that was better than the private sector? See how efficient the mail lines are during Christmas and ask yourself if that's what you want your health care to be like. What has government ownership of Amtrak done? Certainly hasn't turned a profit. Medicare and Socialist Security are going broke faster than the government predicts and yet the libs in charge of these programs keep saying "Trust us! We don't need to privatize this!"

Trusting Obama and the Federal Government with your health care and mine is like going to a beauty salon for your auto repairs.

The crisis here isn't a failing health care system which is running out of time. Instead, Obama and the liberal Congress know they are running out of time to successfully take over the health care industry in the United States. The longer it takes for them to act, the more people (and some moderate Democrats) will not go for the bait. As with the stimulus, the auto takeovers, etc, etc, this administration has been the ones doing the fear mongering with Americans, that if they don't act now, the sky will fall.

Well, we've seen the results of the stimulus and the auto takeovers and the results ain't good!

By the way, isn't it interesting that, during a recession, Obama spends $236,000 of our money to promote his socialist health care agenda? That does not cover protection, motorcades and helicopter transports.

And Barack Hussein Obama, who Friday wanted to claim credit for the debate in Iran, has broken his silence on the election and demonstrations (SFGate).

President Barack Obama says it's up to Iran to determine its own leaders.

But he also says he's troubled by the situation in Iran and that it would be wrong to stay silent. Obama says any investigation into Iranian election results must not result in bloodshed.

So Obama is back to his original statement from his Cairo "Apology to the Muslim World" speech, that no nation should impose their way of life on another. So while Iranians yearn for freedom from the oppression of the mullahs, Obama turns his back on them because he does not want to offend the Holocaust denier, as well as the Muslim world.

Had Barack Hussein Obama been President during the Solidarity uprising in Poland, the Polish people might still be oppressed under the iron fist of the Soviet Union. Likewise, Obama would have stood at the Berlin wall and (instead of Ronald Reagan's words) he would have said, "Mr. Gorbachev, I can't tell you to tear down this wall, I can apologize though for the belligerent attitude of that cowboy actor, Ronald Reagan."

Note to Obama from a lowly blogger. Maybe if we encouraged more freedom in the world and took a stand against oppressive totalitarian regimes (like Reagan and both Bushes did), there might be less conflict in the world. It's clear by your words and actions that you are not a champion of freedom.

Update 8:26 p.m. EDT - The Live Feed is reporting that Letterman made the following statement during the taping for tonight's show.

“All right, here – I’ve been thinking about this situation with Governor Palin and her family now for about a week – it was a week ago tonight, and maybe you know about it, maybe you don’t know about it. But there was a joke that I told, and I thought I was telling it about the older daughter being at Yankee Stadium. And it was kind of a coarse joke. There’s no getting around it, but I never thought it was anybody other than the older daughter, and before the show, I checked to make sure in fact that she is of legal age, 18. Yeah. But the joke really, in and of itself, can’t be defended. The next day, people are outraged. They’re angry at me because they said, ‘How could you make a lousy joke like that about the 14-year-old girl who was at the ball game?’ And I had, honestly, no idea that the 14-year-old girl, I had no idea that anybody was at the ball game except the governor and I was told at the time she was there with Rudy Giuliani … and I really should have made the joke about Rudy …” (audience applauds) “But I didn’t, and now people are getting angry and they’re saying, ‘Well, how can you say something like that about a 14-year-old girl, and does that make you feel good to make those horrible jokes about a kid who’s completely innocent, minding her own business,’ and, turns out, she was at the ball game. I had no idea she was there. So she’s now at the ball game, and people think that I made the joke about her. And, but still, I’m wondering, ‘Well, what can I do to help people understand that I would never make a joke like this?’ I’ve never made jokes like this as long as we’ve been on the air, 30 long years, and you can’t really be doing jokes like that. And I understand, of course, why people are upset. I would be upset myself.

“And then I was watching the Jim Lehrer ‘Newshour’ – this commentator, the columnist Mark Shields, was talking about how I had made this indefensible joke about the 14-year-old girl, and I thought, ‘Oh, boy, now I’m beginning to understand what the problem is here. It’s the perception rather than the intent.’ It doesn’t make any difference what my intent was, it’s the perception. And, as they say about jokes, if you have to explain the joke, it’s not a very good joke. And I’m certainly – ” (audience applause) “– thank you. Well, my responsibility – I take full blame for that. I told a bad joke. I told a joke that was beyond flawed, and my intent is completely meaningless compared to the perception. And since it was a joke I told, I feel that I need to do the right thing here and apologize for having told that joke. It’s not your fault that it was misunderstood, it’s my fault. That it was misunderstood.” (audience applauds) “Thank you. So I would like to apologize, especially to the two daughters involved, Bristol and Willow, and also to the governor and her family and everybody else who was outraged by the joke. I’m sorry about it and I’ll try to do better in the future. Thank you very much.” (audience applause)

Beware of "Born Again American" A Patriotic Ruse Founded By People For The (Un)American Way

Thanks to a posting at FreeRepublic.com, I've just been made aware of a website called "Born Again American."

On first viewing, it looks patriotic, right? Red, White & Blue, sea to shining sea, etc, etc.

But you have to dig deep below the patriotic facade to find that this website is a liberal ruse founded and funded by Left-wing Hollywood type to sucker real Americans into funding their socialist agenda.

Who is behind Born Again American? TV producer Norman Lear and People for the (Un)American Way (look in the lower right corner of the screenshot below). One of the board members of PFAW is "Father of the Year" Alec Baldwin.

For those who don't know, this liberal Hollywood group were some of the people behind the fight over President George W. Bush's judicial nominees, sending memos to Democrat Senators objecting to nominees like Miguel Estrada ("he's a Hispanic") because they did not hold the "living, breathing Constitution" view of liberals.

DiscovertheNetworks also reveals that PFAW was the group responsible for attempting to make the so-called "anti-war"movement appear more mainstream, bringing groups together under the umbrella group "United for Peace & Justice." This group, however, was headed by Leslie Cagan, who has been a member of Communist Party USA and is sympathetic to Castro's Cuba.

DTN also says that PFAW voter alliance gave 99.3 percent of financial support to Democrats between 1998 & 2004. Yet Born Again American is listed as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Liberals know most Americans won't fall for their far-Left agenda, so they have to masquerade them by wrapping it in the flag, apple pie and everything patriotic. Born Again American is another example in the long line of leftist trickery which includes their parents group and the ACLU.

Tell your friends and family to beware of this group.

"Supreme Leader" of Iran Wants Probe Into Election Fraud

I just heard this on "Americas Morning News." It's also on Yahoo news.

TEHRAN, Iran – Iran's supreme leader ordered Monday an investigation into allegations of election fraud, marking a stunning turnaround by the country's most powerful figure and offering hope to opposition forces who have waged street clashes to protest the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

State television quoted Ayatollah Ali Khamenei directing a high-level clerical panel, the Guardian Council, to look into charges by pro-reform candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi, who has said he is the rightful winner of Friday's presidential election.

The decision comes after Mousavi wrote a letter appealing to the Guardian Council and met Sunday with Khamenei, who holds almost limitless power over Iranian affairs. Such an election probe by the 12-member council is uncharted territory and it not immediately clear how it would proceed or how long it would take.

Election results must be authorized by the council, composed of clerics closely allied with the unelected supreme leader. All three of Ahmadinejad's challengers in the election — Mousavi and two others — have made public allegations of fraud after results showed the president winning by a 2-to-1 margin.
