Sunday Morning Musings As I Prepare For Takeoff: WWF Earth Hour, Biden's Daughter Allegedly Filmed Using Coke, Tea Parties Near You

Did you know last night the "Chicken Little" types were telling us to turn our lights off for an hour (as if that would have any impact on the Earth, except making it darker)? So, I did my part, as I was at a place where we had a ton of lights on last night, and I drove my car around town to get there (even putting it in neutral and revving up the engine at a few stop lights).

The folks who promoted Earth Hour were the WWF. Since when does professional wrestling and environmentalism mix?

No, this isn't a preliminary to WrestleMania, the group is actually called the World Wildlife Fund.

I'm spending today tying down loose ends, packing and getting ready to head out to Dulles Airport tomorrow as I go out of town for business. I won't have much access to a computer for the next week and a half. I plan to be back here next Thursday, April 9. Until then, here's a couple other items you should know about.

Tax time is coming up soon, and with that, TEA PARTIES! On that note, there's going to be a couple this week which would be great to attend if you're in the area.

The daughter of Vice President Joe "Plugs" Biden, was allegedly caught on camera "riding the rails" (snorting cocaine).

A "friend" of Vice President Joseph Biden's daughter, Ashley, is attempting to hawk a videotape that he claims shows her snorting cocaine at a house party this month in Delaware.

...The video, which the shooter initially hoped to sell for $2 million before scaling back his price to $400,000, shows a 20-something woman with light skin and long brown hair taking a red straw from her mouth, bending over a desk, inserting the straw into her nostril and snorting lines of white powder.

She then stands up and begins talking with other people in the room. A young man looks on from behind her, facing the camera. The lawyers said he was Ashley's boyfriend of a few years.

The camera follows the woman from a few feet away, focusing on her as she moves around the room. It appears not to be concealed. At one point she shouts, "Shut the f--- up!"

The woman appears to resemble Ashley Biden, 27, a social worker for a Delaware child-welfare agency and a visible presence during her father's campaign for the White House.

The dialogue is difficult to discern, but the woman makes repeated references to the drugs, said the lawyers, who said they viewed the tape about 15 times.

"At one point she pretty much complains that the line isn't big enough," said the second lawyer, who declined to identify himself. "And she talks about her dad."

This isn't Ashley's first brush with the law. The Swamp wrote last year how Ashley was arrested in 2002 in Chicago.

The daughter of Democratic Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware was arrested early Saturday morning in Chicago after two people she was with allegedly attacked a police officer.

Ashley Biden, 21, was in the West Division Street nightlife district about 1:15 a.m. when a friend, John Kaulentis, 24, of Deerfield, threw a soft-drink can at a police officer who had told him to stay behind a barricade set up to keep clubgoers off the street, said police spokesman Thomas Donegan.When the officer tried to take Kaulentis into custody, Kelly Donohoe, 21, of Lake Forest, allegedly jumped on the officer's back, striking him in the mouth with her fist, Donegan said.

When a second officer approached to assist, Biden "verbally intimidated him" and was also arrested, Donegan said. Biden, a student at Tulane University in New Orleans, was charged with obstructing a police officer. She was in Chicago visiting family.

Kaulentis was charged with battery and resisting an officer, and Donohoe was charged with battery and obstructing and resisting a police officer. All three were released on their own recognizance.

And from the Tribune, Oct. 30, 2002:

The daughter of a U.S. senator and two of her friends were cleared Tuesday of criminal charges stemming from a fracas with Chicago police after they apologized to the officers.

Obstruction charges were dropped against Ashley Biden, 21, a college student in New Orleans and the daughter of Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.), officials said. Battery charges were dropped against John Kaulentis, 24, of Deerfield, and Kelly Donohoe, 21, of Lake Forest, according to the Cook County state's attorney's office.

The three were arrested after an August incident outside a nightclub on West Division Street. Jerry Lawrence, a spokesman for the state's attorney's office, said the case was dropped in exchange for a public apology in Misdemeanor Court.

Wonder if Joe will use his office to get the video squashed and cover it up? I'm certain the liberal media will cover for him as well. If this had been Bristol Palin or the Bush twins, this story would be at the top of every liberal newscast and newspaper.

UPS Drops O'Reilly Advertising Thanks To Liberal Gestapo

Let me preface by saying I'm not the biggest Bill O'Reilly fan.

While he does make some good points, he has smeared FreeRepublic.com with unsubstantiated allegations and, last fall, went on a tirade against "right wing" talk show hosts.

However, that doesn't satisfy the far-Left loons. Last week, he mentioned how a speech he gave at a fundraiser for the It Happened To Alexa foundation (founded by a rape victim and her family to benefit other rape victims). The speech and organization were criticized and protested thanks to a "progressive" (read: socialist) group named Citizens For American Progress, headed by former Clintonista (and Obama adviser) John Podesta. The criticism caused the family (including Alexa, who left her job because of it) a huge amount of anguish and strain.

The segment below from The O'Reilly Factor tells the whole story and they confront the left wing smear-blogger, Amanda Terkel.



Now, United Parcel Service (UPS) has dropped their advertising from The O'Reilly Factor, thanks to (I've renamed the group) Center for American Progress...To Fascism. Why? Because of how poor Ms. Terkel was treated, as she whined to the liberal MSNBC host Keith "I Can't Get It Up" Olbermann, conveniently linked as a source in the Cleavland Leader article.

These left-wing groups like Podesta's, as well as MoveOn.org and Media Matters, are to the Democrat Party in the 21st century what the Ku Klux Klan was to the Democrats in the late 19th and 20th centuries (minus the hoods). Regardless of what one might think of O'Reilly, the thought of organized left-wing groups linked with a TV network and liberal politicians who try to silence dissenters reeks of fascism and is un-American.

These left-wing groups have no shame and should be stood up against at every opportunity.

Mark Levin Book Signing at Tysons Corner, VA

Just as I said about CPAC, I say now as I thaw out from standing in the cold and drizzle at Tysons Corner Mall for a book signing by "The Great One" Mark Levin--Don't tell me conservatism is dead.

I can easily attest there were more people today than the commies rallied together last week in DC. The media (especially the Washington Compost) can ignore it all they want, but there's a lot of people who aren't happy with the way Obama and the Democrat Congress are trying to rapidly shove socialism down the throats of the citizenry.

The book signing was to start at 11 a.m. but started thirty minutes earlier. From what I heard people started waiting at 5:30 a.m. The line went out the door from the Barnes & Noble bookstore, around the corner along the side of the mall.......then....around the corner to where valet parking is located, which is around the corner from the furthest point back in the photo below.

Unfortunately, I had to leave early, and missed getting my copy signed. I (as well as many others) did meet and get the signature of Curtis Sliwa, talk show host as well as the founder of the Guardian Angels anti-crime group. Regardless, I look forward to reading Liberty & Tyranny on the plane as I fly to Dallas on Monday Morning.

For Another Look At Making The "War on Terror" Politically Correct...

...here's country singer Charlie Daniels, with an excellent, spot-on commentary ("It's Finally Happened").

Washington has totally lost its collective mind and is drowning in a sea of make believe that transcends common sense and even political correctness.

I'm going back to Iraq later on in the year, and I can't wait to see what the young men and women in the military think about fighting the "Overseas Contingency Operation."

They actually thought they were fighting the War on Terror, but their new Commander in Chief and the bunch of politically correct, pantywaist loonies who serve under him are afraid of offending Osama bin Laden or some other scum-sucking, head-decapitating terrorist murderers, so they changed horses in mid stream.

The War on Terror is now the Overseas Contingency Operation, terrorism is now referred to as "man caused disasters" and now the White House has decided that they would no longer call the Islamic fanatics -who want to destroy our way of life- "enemy combatants," but so far the Obama administration hasn't thought of anything less offensive. May I suggest "misguided well-meaning foreign citizens"? That sounds like something the White House can run with.

If it wasn't so dangerous it would be funny. Do these people actually think that by calling something by a kinder gentler name they can make it less dangerous? This is downright stupid. Yes, I said it. It's stupid.

It's like saying, "Mr. bin Laden, we're sorry for calling you all those terrible names. We're really sorry, and if we'll stop using those awful descriptions, will you just leave us alone? Can't we all just put some flowers in our hair and live in peace? Besides it was all that awful George W. Bush's idea."

Well Mr. Obama, I might have missed it but I haven't heard you mention 9/11 once, and just in case you've forgotten these noble enemy comba… sorry, "foreign mischief-making citizens", -or whatever you end up calling them- of yours murdered over 3000 of our citizens in three different locations on American soil and your milksop definitions of these pus ball killers is just not good enough for me.

I have some suggestions for your vocabulary:

Rattlesnake - triangle-headed surface crawler
Black Widow Spider - red dotted black circle
Shark - fish with a toothy smile
Grizzly Bear - big cuddly fuzzball
Dynamite - stringed red stick
Ted Bundy - homo sapien with a slight attitude
Jeffrey Dahmer - peculiarly-appetited loner

The media in this country have their heads so far up the collective posteriors of the Obama Administration that all they can do is sit back and say, "Oh isn't he wonderful? Isn't he brilliant? He has compassion and cares about everybody's feelings!"

Folks, please don't let this bunch of new age liberal fanatics pull the wool over your eyes.

Regardless of what the White House says, we are still fighting the War on Terror. If you don't believe it, ask some of the young heroes who patrol the roads of Iraq everyday at the risk of having their Humvees blown to kingdom come by a roadside bomb, not put there by a soldier but by a citizen terrorist and that does not compute into enemy combatant, "peace-depriving individual" or any other ridiculous politically correct term they can come up with, no matter how you cut it.

The more Obama tries to placate these people, the weaker they will perceive us to be and you know what's sad? It will be the truth.

I remember watching a TV show a few years ago when there was a war going on between Israel and their Arab neighbors. I remember the rapper, Vanilla Ice, walking to the microphone, raising his fist in the air and saying, "Peace in the Middle East!"

I think that's a wonderful idea, Mr. Ice. How about you go over there and fix it for us. I'm sure you and Sean Penn could make all of the problems in the Middle East just go away.

These idealistic platitudes may make the people who say it feel good about themselves, but it does absolutely nothing to solve the situation.

The only thing to be accomplished by soft-pedaling the rhetoric will be to give our blood enemies a good laugh.

I can't help but wonder how the coverage of the trade towers bombing would be reported today, would it be something like…?

"Today misguided well-meaning foreign citizens from the Overseas Contingency Operation inflicted a Man Caused Disaster at the World Trade Center depriving some three thousand people -who probably shouldn't have been there anyway- of their livingness, and besides, we're sure they had a good excuse for doing it."

Welfare For Al Queda Terrorists?

To add to what I wrote below, it's getting worse.

Not only is the Obama Administration talking about releasing Gitmo terrorists inside America, they're talking about giving them welfare!

“If we are to release them in the United States, we need some sort of assistance for them to start a new life,” said National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair at his first press conference.

“You can’t just put them on the street,” he added. “All that is work in progress.”

I don't know if any other readers are thinking the same way I am, but I have a real uneasy feeling about the future. I'm not talking about the economy either. True, economic security is important. However, if we put how fat our wallets are in front of the threats we face from Islamofascist terror, we're putting the horse before the cart.

Last night and today, I look in disbelief as one by one, the fight against Islamofasicsm is becoming politically corrected, all in the hopes that if we don't offeeeeend that guy with the ZZTop beard (as Michael "Lard Ass" Moore called him) and his fanatical followers, maybe they'll like us and leave us alone.

So what are we doing? Not only are we closing Gitmo and maybe moving the poor, oppressed Muslims (victims of George W. Bush) to America, we're getting rid of the name Global War on Terror and replacing it with (are you ready)...."overseas contingency operations." Now just what in the Hell does that mean? Janet Napolitano is now calling terrorism "man made catastrophe."

It doesn't end there either. The New York & New Jersey Port Authority has decided to rename the replacement tower to the Twin Towers destroyed by Islamofascist terrorists on September 11, 2001. The original name "The Freedom Tower" is being struck in favor of "One World Trade Center."

Debra Burlingame, whose brother Charles Burlingame was the pilot aboard American Airlines Flight 77 that was hijacked and crashed into the Pentagon, said the renaming of the tower is one more example that the nation is forgetting 9/11.

"If we can't say the word freedom out loud, God help us," she said.

"I understand the decision from a marketing point of view. But it saddens me that it's no longer economically viable to declare who we are."

I think it's gone beyond simply "forgetting" 9/11, I'd say that day has been forgotten completely. When they took that footage off the air two weeks after the attacks, I knew that wasn't a good sign. Fat ass Michael Moore made money off the attack in his blame Bush crockumentary. Then the 9/11 Troofers and their easily refutable claims have swayed too many people over the years. Even if you see through the lies of the troofer movement, the attack is downplayed in museums, displays, and other places (TV and print) as a "tragedy." No it wasn't. 9/11 was an attack on this nation and our people, it was an act of war, not a tornado, a fire or hurricane.

Liberals don't believe there is evil in the world, except if you're a Conservative, a talk-show host, Sarah Palin, or one of those corporate executives. In their Fantasyland, 9/11 was a creation of evil George W. Bush, Hailburton, and those "neo-cons" (liberal code word for "Jooooos") in order to invade Iraq, steal their oil and enrich themselves (if that were the case, shouldn't gas prices be $1.00 a gallon?). For the last eight years, liberal politicians were harder on people who wanted to win this war than they were on the terrorists. Every liberal's car had stickers saying "Defend America, Defeat Bush." If you'd arrived from planet Mars on September 10, 2004, you'd have thought George W. Bush was more evil than Osama bin Laden or Saddam Hussein, if you'd listened to liberals.

But not even 100 days into HopenChange, what has this era of not offending our enemies bought us? Hillary Rotten Clinton tried to undo with North Korea the so-called damage the "cowboy" Bush did by including them in the Axis of Evil. Now, North Korea is threatening to launch a test missile that could hit the United States. What great diplomacy! So do you honestly think making the fight against al-Queda politically correct will thaw the ice?

No, it won't. When our enemies see weakness, it empowers them. That's why North Korea is acting the way they are. Just as Chamberlain failed at Munich, I fear Islamofascism will go unchecked by the Obama Administration, as they're being emboldened by our "good will."

Frankly, we need more cowboys leading this country, instead of the limp-wristed co-dependants who worry more about what the rest of the world think instead of protecting the citizenry, their Constitutional duty.

Now, it's a solidarity rally for Mixon, planned today in Oakland, as Melanie Morgan writes about some group of freaks called Uhuru Solidarity who are planning the rally.

A Leftist "progressive" group is now capitalizing on the horrific tragedy this weekend in Oakland when the four police officers were shot dead by a rape suspect determined to kill his way out of another jail term.

Now we are learning that there are actually people out there expressing support for Lovelle Mixon - and the murders he committed.

They are asking all "progressive- minded" people to join the resistance. What would Dr. Martin Luther King say about this? I know what Bernandine Dohrn and Bill Ayers would say back in the day - Right ON!

Somebody please explain to me how it is ONLY white folks who can be racist...I think it is time for Attorney General Eric Holder to bring the "cowards" out of the shadows and start that race conversation he says we are too scared to have.

Notoriously Liberal Zogby Poll Has Obama Approval at 50/50

Even the liberal Obama-worshipping media is going to have a hard time spinning this one. The Boston Herald is reporting tonight that the Zogby Poll, one which has been notoriously liberal, has his approval rating split 50/50.

The honeymoon is over, a national poll will signal tomorrow as President Obama’s job approval stumbles to about 50 percent over the lack of improvement with the crippled economy.

The sobering numbers come as the president backpedals from two prime-time gaffes - one comparing his bowling score to a Special Olympian and another awkwardly laughing about the economy, which prompted Steve Kroft of “60 Minutes” to ask “are you punch-drunk?”

Pollster John Zogby said his poll out in the morning will show Americans split on the president’s performance. He said the score factors out to “about 50-50.”

“...The numbers are going down,” Zogby told the Herald. “It’s not because of the gaffes, but a combination of high expectations and that things aren’t moving fast enough with the economy.”

Zogby said any stumbling does serve as “red-meat fodder” for administration antagonists.As for the president’s love of the limelight, it could backfire, according to a media watcher.

“I thought he overexposed himself weeks ago,” said Tobe Berkovitz, associate dean of Boston University’s College of Communication.

“I wonder when the public will say ‘Instead of being in front of the camera, be in front of a spreadsheet.’ ”

I don't agree with Zogby's explanation of why "That One's" poll numbers are dropping. First, the media built up this guy as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Obama even bought into the hype, hypnotising his followers (and too many who should have known better) with the drone of "change" and "hope" repeated over and over again.

I think the gaffes really hurt him. Giggling like he'd just smoked a doobie on 60 Minutes. The Special Olympics gaffe. There's also the steady drumbeat of pessimism, the double-talk, especially when it comes to the AIG fiasco, and frightening the nation in order to run up a multi-trillion dollar tab for this nation. A down payment for a socialist future, which my grandchildren will be paying for.

It doesn't help either how Mr. Obama is seen as one who insults Americas allies and wants to appease our enemies. Neither does it help when this administration is seen as unable to take criticism, sending out surrogates to attack critics (Rush Limbaugh, Rick Santelli, Jim Cramer).

It takes a lot more than reading a speech off a teleprompter to be a leader. And this nation is not only suffering an economic crisis, we're also suffering a crisis called "lack of leadership."

IndyMedia Goons Celebrate Shooting Deaths of Oakland Police Officers

The horrible shooting of four Oakland Police Officers, leaving three dead and another on life support, is being celebrated by many on the radical Leftist Web site Indymedia, the same scum who celebrate vandalism of recruiting centers and call for fragging of troops.

Under the posting, Angry Oakland Police Kill African American Man in Haste; 4 Die, One Critical, (screenshot below in case removed) Copwatch13 wrote the following "it's all the police's fault" crap:

On Saturday, March 21st, for the second time in recent months, police in Oakland shot and killed a young African American man apparently after prematurely resorting to the use of deadly force when alternative remedies were available. This time, the haste on the part of police caused them to lose two of their own just after two other officers had just been shot, with one killed, at a separate location.

It all started with a routine traffic stop at about 1:15 p.m. near the 7400 block of MacArthur Boulevard in East Oakland. Two Oakland motorcycle officers are said to have stopped 26 year-old Lovelle Mixon, an African American man from Oakland. Police allege that Mr. Mixon shot the two traffic officers and then fled.

According to police, about two hours after the shooting, they had information which led them to believe Mr. Mixon was hiding alone in an apartment on 74th Avenue near Hillside Street. At that point, over 200 officers from the Oakland Police, Alameda County Sheriff's Office, BART Police and the California Highway Patrol surrounded the area where Mr. Mixon was believed to be.

However, rather than attempt a carefully planned, negotiated, non-violent ending, and angry over the shooting of the two traffic officers, a hasty Oakland Police Swat Team apparently rushed into the building rmed with military rifles, assault weapons and other means of deadly force to use against Mr. Mixon. In the heat of the moment, there was allegedly an exchange of gunfire between Mr. Mixon and the Swat officers. It's not clear yet whether Mr. Mixon fired in self-defense, but no information suggests that he was a threat while he remained there alone. In the exchange of gunfire, Mr. Mixon was killed. Three Swat officers were also shot, two of whom later died.

The incident is still being investigated. Thus far, the Oakland Police have offered no explanation for the Swat Team's departure from ordinary officer safety precautions, such as why it was imminently necessary to storm into the building if they had it surrounded and believed Mr. Mixon was alone or had no reason to believe he had hostages.

According to one police officer who asked not to be identified, police are trained to encourage attempts at negotiations in order to facilitate non-violent outcomes when someone is barricaded or "holed up." The officer said that this is true even when the person hiding out has done something violent or actually has hostages.

Many people are now wondering if the police were hasty, careless or reckless this time because they were angry that someone had shot two of their own. Questions have been raised as to whether their resolve to get revenge influenced what should have been an overriding concern for minimizing the risk of additional violence after one violent confrontation had already occurred.

What is clear, however, is that a young African American man from Oakland who was only a suspect was promptly killed rather than arrested. Although nothing yet suggests that the two motorcycle officers could have avoided their fate, Mr. Mixon's death, and the deaths of the two Swat officers, might very well have been avoided if reasonable
attempts to negotiate Mr. Mixon's voluntary exit had been exhausted.

Was Oakland Police Department partially to blame for the carnage on Saturday?

Perhaps this is so. There were non-confrontational alternatives available to the late Mr. Mixon as well. He could have sat in his car and awaited a reunion with the judicial system instead of shooting two policemen in the head.

After the awkward traffic stop Mixon could have surrendered to the OPD. Or, he could have called or texted the police and negotiated a surrender. Mixon must have been a little upset after shooting the officers, so it's not his fault for not considering these alternatives

Oakland Police Department could have waited and negotiated with Mixon instead of rushing him. I'm sure none of Mixon's neighbors would have minded if he took them hostage. Maybe it would have been better just to await description of Mixon's car on Amber Alert.

By all descriptions Mr. Mixon was just your typical young guy, fresh out of State Prison with an illegal assault rifle and handgun. It wasn't his fault that he hid in a closet and was forced to blast away through the door when he heard someone approaching.

Leftists Rally In DC Against War On Terror, Throw Food At Counterprotestors

Under the banner of protesting the War on Terror on the sixth anniversary of the start of the Iraq War, assorted hippies, anarchists, communists and liberals gathered in Washington DC to have a temper tantrum about every leftist cause under the sun.
After a screeching rally near the Lincoln and Vietnam War Memorial, they marched across the Memorial Bridge into Virginia, passing by pro-America, pro-troop members of FreeRepublic.com who were there to counterprotest the terrorist supporters, whose rally was sponsored by the Workers World Party front group International ANSWER. A double fenced area divided the two groups, who tossed words. It got even more heated as the "peace" crowd threw one sign at the FReepers. Others, including your correspondent, had items of food (bread chunks, raisins) thrown at us by the group of anarchists below.

So much for "peace and love." At their rally, these leftists all scream for more money for jobs, education, bathrooms and food, instead of war. Yet they throw food and litter at the same time. How "green" of them!

At the ANSWER rally the crowd seemed thin compared to previous years (and that includes the San Francisco rallies from a few years ago). The only time they looked like a large group was when they were marching.

Susie was bragging about her latest trip to visit the enemy, this time, it was a trip to Gaza, of which she's planning another one in May. After taking this photo, I leaned over to her and said, "Why don't you take a long swim to Cuba and stay there." She did live on the Communist gulag once, saying she felt like she'd "died and gone to Heaven." She was kicked out though, apparently Fidel wasn't Communist enough for her.

Terrorist lawyer Lynne "Football Face" Stewart was a speaker, as were members of the National Lawyers Guild.

This was probably the worst, members of the "Religion of Peace" who had their young children dressed like Islamic militants.

Members of Gathering of Eagles stood guard at the nearby Vietnam War Memorial, this after the "peace" crowd threatened to throw red paint on the Memorial two years ago.

Berkeley Marine Recruiting Station Vandalized On Eve Of Iraq War Anniversary--Anti-America Crowd To Protest In DC Today

The Marine Corps Recruiting Station in the anti-American city of Berkeley, CA, was attacked the other night near the sixth anniversary of the Iraq War, in the worst episode of vandalism since it opened almost two years ago.

And, as usual, the anti-military, (spelling challenged) bastards at IndyMedia are gloating.

At 9PM on March 18th, the eve of the 6th anniversary of the war in Iraq, a group of persons wearing masks smashed the windows and splattered red paint at the U.S. Marine Corps Recruiting Center in Berkeley, California.

The center has been the target of protests for the last 18 months, and stands as a symbol of U.S. militarism and imperialist wars. The act of property distruction stands alone as the embodyment of frustration of a people whos government does not listen to or care about them.

Police have not made any arrests but are reviewing the tape, said Sgt. Mary Kusmiss. A sledgehammer and a crowbar were found in a nearby garbage can nearby, and are being reviewing as evidence. After breaking windows and improving the Marine Corps logo at the center, the group wearing masks and dark clothing scattered in three different directions, police said.

As of the time of this posting, no one involved has been arrested. The act was easy. You and a few friends could have pulled it off any day.

Obama Mocks Handicapped Discussing His Bowling Skills

You almost wonder if NBC will edit this "joke" out of "That One's" appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (Jake Tapper @ ABC, via Michelle Malkin).

The first appearance by a sitting president on “The Tonight Show” may well end up being the last.

President Obama, in his taping with Jay Leno Thursday afternoon, attempted to yuk it up with the funnyman, and ended up insulting the disabled.

Towards the end of his approximately 40-minute appearance, the president talked about how he’s gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley.

He bowled a 129, the president said.

“That’s very good, Mr. President,” Leno said sarcastically.

It’s “like the Special Olympics or something,” the president said.

Was the teleprompter left back at the White House?

SF Police Chief To Officers Association: Keep Quiet On 1970 Bombing Investigation

The San Francisco Police Officers Association, who wrote a letter accusing President Barack Hussein Obama's friends Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn of a 1970 bombing which killed S.F.P.D. Sergeant Brian McDonnell, has been told to keep quiet by their boss, Police Chief Heather Fong (SFGate hat tip jp).

We hear that both U.S. Justice Department reps and Police Chief Heather Fong put in calls to the union to find out just what they were doing talking out of school about an active investigation that may be ready to make a move soon in the 1970 bombing at Park Station.

The word was, button your lips.

Police Officers Association President Gary Delagnes confirmed that his union got a call from federal investigators telling them they had an "active investigation and should not be commenting on the case."

Delagnes said the letter was meant only to show support for the family of the slain officer, Sgt. Brian McDonnell, and to help them "bring closure to the case."

This doesn't make sense. If the Feds were getting close on making the arrest, why the silence until the letter was publicized? Shouldn't they be keeping the SFPD abrest of any developments?

Somehow, I think this is more handcuffing of the police by the politically correct Chief Fong. Why shouldn't the union be allowed to comment about the case?

Seizing AIG Bonuses--The Arrogance of The Democrat Led Congress

The arrogance of liberal Democrats in Congress knows no bounds.

First, they agreed (thanks to Chris "Countrywide Sweetheart Deal" Dodd) to bonuses for AIG execs in the Porkulus bill.

Now, that the news hit the wires over the weekend, these arrogant, self-righteous, liberal blowhards who all knew about these bonuses now want confiscate them with a 90 percent tax.

Hypocrites! All of you!

Before making corporate execs your new bogeyman (after Rush Limbaugh, talk radio, conservatives, etc) why don't you turn the mirror on yourselves.

Why don't you give back your $93,000 extra petty cash you were given?

Why don't you turn down your pay raises? I notice that "Do Nothing" Nancy Pelosi and "Dingy" Harry Reid haven't gotten rid of the automatic pay raise scheme.

Speaking of that, Nancy Pelosi, why don't you reimburse us, the taxpayers, for your use of military jets as your private airline to fly your pampered @$$ to and from San Francisco (and to any other place with your family)? You libs demanded Sarah Palin reimburse the State of Alaska for travel. What's the matter? Is this another case of "one set of rules for us liberals, another set for the rest of you peasants?"

I find it hard to watch Barney Frank up there, self-righteously pontificating about these bonuses when he aided in the downfall of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac by standing in the way of any oversight. Now Barney wants the names of AIG execs and doesn't care about the death threats they're receiving. All this from someone who should have been expelled from Congress 20 years ago for keeping his roommate on the government payroll as he ran a male prostitution ring out of their apartment.

Did it ever occur to any of you what the term "public servant" means? Probably not. Just as you have no concept of what it takes to run even a lemonade stand.

Overflow Crowd Attends Heated Fairfax Planning Commission Meeting on Islamic Saudi Academy

An overflow crowd packed the meeting room where the Fairfax County Planning Commission met late Wednesday evening to discuss expansion of the Islamic Saudi Academy site at Popes Head Road in Fairfax County.

Wearing "I Support ISA" badges, supporters of this controversial academy jammed almost every seat in an obviously orchestrated attempt to show support for this institution.
In recent years, textbooks at the Academy have been found to containing religious intolerance as well as anti-Semitic, anti-American writing. A 1999 valedictorian of the school was indicted on terrorism charges and just last year, the director of the Academy was arrested for failure to report a child abuse investigation and obstruction of justice.

The meeting room was so packed the fire marshall had to eject those without a seat into the outside lobby to watch the proceedings on closed circuit TV. Many opposed to the planned expansion request by the Academy were rightfully concerned about not being guaranteed an opportunity to speak before the Commission.

Though the meeting began at 8:15 p.m., the topic of the ISA expansion did not get underway until close to 10 p.m. due to two other items of business. By the time public comments began, 35 people had signed up for public comments.

ISA supporters were unruly, jeering James Lafferty of the Traditional Values Coalition as he brought up the topic of intolerance of the Academy textbooks and laughed when Andrea Lafferty mentioned how the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis. They loudly cheered Commissioner Janet Hall as she made a point in the institution's favor, rebutting concerns of a resident who lives near the school.

Springfield District Commissioner Peter Murphy Jr., showing himself to be an obnoxious jerk in the vain of "Jihad" Gerry Connolly, accused Mrs. Lafferty (without any proof) of distributing flyers with the Traditional Values Coalition address in area mailboxes.

Most residents who spoke before the 11:30 p.m. recess expressed opposition to the expansion, saying the road is already overcrowded and were also concerned about the quality of life. One resident stated there are two to three accidents a month near where they live. Others noted the houses in the area are on a septic waste system, with well water. They were concerned of the impact the expansion on the septic and well water systems.

Denise Lee, a local realtor, resident and member of ACT for America, brought up the traffic and quality of life concerns, as well as the stories of religious intolerance in textbooks and the arrest of the school director last year, as reasons for opposing the expansion of the Saudi Academy.

Virginia House of Delegates Member Tim Hugo, who represents the area, gave a letter earlier to the commission where the State of Virginia said the Popes Head Road area did not need anymore traffic, as a request for a scenic byway was recently denied for that reason.

It is uncertain if the board will make a final decision this evening. Especially as public comments will continue after the recess.
