When the New York Slimes & Washington Compost revealed national security secrets damaging to prosecuting the War on Terror?
Ambassador Joe Wilson and his non-covert CIA agent wife Valerie were the sweethearts of the Democrats and their lapdog media, for being victims of the eeeeevil Bush Administration (especially Darth Cheney) for trying to debunk claims of Iraq purchasing yellowcake in Niger. Never mind that the Bush Administration had noting to do with her cover supposedly being blown, and there was uranium taken out of Iraq after it had been liberated.
But when some guy, for some unknown reason, hacked into or stored a bunch of e-mails that proved false the liberal's religion called glo-BULL warming, the scandal is either ignored, or the whistleblower is eeeevil and should face criminal punishment, according to liberals.
The Obama White House is still passing out the Kool-Aid that man-made glo-BULL warming is real, and doing all they can to ignore the obvious unmasking of this snake oil.
Over in the Senate, the looney Senator from California (and former Marin County resident) "Bouncing" Barbara Boxer wants to criminally prosecute those who obtained and made public the e-mails that exposed the glo-BULL warming fraud (Digital Journal).
While it is true that computer system hacking is a very serious crime, the content of the email strings from the University of East Anglia exposed in the "climategate" scandal that has since led to the temporary resignation of the university's central climate scientist may very well point to a more devastating crime - one of scientific fraud in the face of wide-ranging global economic legislation. So what is it, Babs? Is it more of a crime to perpetuate the mother of all frauds or for some to expose the lying liars? Only if it's George W. Bush, I guess Boxer would think.
However, Senator Barbara Boxer - the lead Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee - believes the criminal focus should remain on the hackers themselves and not on the material uncovered.
"You call it 'Climategate'; I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate,'" Boxer said, according to The Hill. "Whatever it is, the main issue is, Are we facing global warming or are we not? I'm looking at these e-mails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public."
Veteran meteorologist John Coleman in San Diego has publicly fought the glo-BULL warming fraud and wrote this today at his blog.
Here's to hoping that possibility will happen soon, before this Administration and Congress try to limit our freedom by imposing higher taxes on energy, all based on a proven fraud.(Climategate) is out of step with the media agenda. What does the media do now. Ignore it is the first answer. Regard it as an unimportant story. Not nearly as important as Tiger Woods or the couple that crashed a White House party. It is just another hacker and undoubtedly the work of one of those oil company shills. Yes, ignore it. It will fade away. The other answer was to write about its general unimportance and give the parties involved a platform to dismiss the charges. Various outlets took minor steps to cover in a limited dismissive way but the major networks stonewalled.
You must know this about the leaked files. While the emails were damming, the real 'meat' was in sections of computer code leaked. Skeptical climate scientists have already studied it and find it an amazing manipulation that takes real temperature data and turns into a warming fairytale. Since this data forms the baseline for the research used by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, this is huge. Those who counter this argument, by saying there three other data bases and the two that use surface temperatures agree with this data, need to rethink what they are saying. Think about it. This indicates that since the Angelica
University data is scientifically meaningless, and the scientists at the other centers are in constant contact with the scientists there, there is a strong likelihood their data is similarly without scientific merit....There is one possibility that could grow Climategate and demand mainstream coverage. That possibility is my hope. I hope the person who leaked the damming files comes out of the shadow and speaks out about the outrage of what is transpiring among the global warming team. That person had to feel strongly about to perform the leak. And, if that person is an important scientist or is accompanied by a prominent scientist, that could break Climategate into the headlines.
