Poised for a rematch this coming November against "Jihad" Gerry Connolly in VA District 11, Keith Fimian has a couple of news items.
First, he's signed the No Tax Pledge from Americans for Tax Reform, showing a real difference between the tax and spend liberalism of Democrats like Connolly.
“Gerry Connolly and the tax-and-spend career politicians don’t understand that families are hurting in this economy and they can’t afford higher taxes. At every turn the politicians try to raise taxes. They raise taxes on families, homes, businesses and even recently they brought back the death tax. I am signing this pledge, like I did last year, so voters can see a clear difference between their pro-tax record and my absolute commitment not to raise taxes.” Fimian said.
The pledge goes:
“I, __Keith Fimian___, pledge to the taxpayers of the _11th_ district of the state of_Virginia_, and to the American people that I will: ONE, oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses; and TWO, oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates.”
In addition, Fimian has also received the endorsement of Rich Anderson and Jim LeMunyon, Republican candidates for Delegate who defeated Democrats in last month's election.
"In my successful campaign for Delegate, the key issues I heard over and over again were that people want a leader committed to real solutions of creating jobs and battling wasteful big government," Anderson said. "Focusing on those issues propelled me to victory. Keith Fimian is the leader we need in Congress who will tackle these issues head on."
LeMunyon echoed, saying, "(Fimian) will bring the common sense business experience and real world knowledge on balancing budgeting and creating jobs that we sorely need in Congress. Fimian is the Republican Congressman we need."
Fimian commented, “I am honored to have these two successful campaigners and strong leaders backing my campaign. Their victories prove that Northern Virginians are tired of the career politicians and their job killing tax-and-spend policies.”
If Anderson and LeMunyon can defeat Democrat incumbents, then it looks like Keith Fimian has a great shot of putting Connolly in the unemployment line in November, especially since Connolly and the Democrats are intent on continuing their spending binge.
