Nearly 2,000 people attended the rally yesterday opposing the show trials being put together by the terrorist friendly Attorney General Eric Holder for war criminals who masterminded the 9/11 terrorist attack on America.
The protesters say Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and other alleged September 11th co-conspirators are receiving the same rights as U.S. citizens while New York's safety is endangered.Blowing off the concerns of 9/11 Families and residents is Jerry "Jabba the Hut" Nadler, the ultra-lib representative of Manhattan with a 9/10 mentality (like most Democrats).
The group also says the increased security during the trial will affect people's daily lives.
Chinatown residents are especially worried about what will happen, as their neighborhood is close to the federal courthouse.
"There's not even a sidewalk separating us and once the trial's begin we are going to be under the same type of severe lockdown that occurred after 9/11, from which we have barely recovered," said resident Jeanie Chin. "This is a big concern for us. We're
talking about rights for terrorists but what about the rights for the people who live here?"
"That's absurd. No one escapes from a maximum lockup federal penitentiary, no one ever has. And we know how to conduct trials of terrorists. We've had trials of terrorists here in New York and they were successful. Terrorists were convicted and sentenced to long terms in prison," said Nadler.Yes, but those trials happened before 9/11, Tubby! Nadler has had a lax view of terrorism. He lobbied for the pardons of two domestic terrorists by the Clinton White House. He also was among the treasonous Democrats who attempted to undermine the Bush White House in fighting the War on Terror through the courts.
One man who agrees with Nadler, former Fire Department Chief Jimmy Riches, lost his son Jimmy in the September 11th attacks and has met with President Barack Obama about the issue. With all due respect, Chief Riches, the reason there's been footdragging with the military tribunals is because of the obvious partisan footdragging from members of the Party of Treason, like Nadler, et al, as well as attorneys with Eric Holder's former law firm, mounting challenges to the Constitutionally sound military tribunals.
"It's eight years now - we have no accountability, there's been nothing done, they're still in arraignment stages in military prosecutions," said Riches. "Let's get behind the president like we did after 9/11, let's let him move forward."
Nadler, the Democrats and this terrorist-friendly Administration also ignore the words read by actor Brian Dennehy from Judea Pearl, father of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. Besides masterminding 9/11, KSM was seen on video beheading and holding Pearl's head, after the reporter was forced to say, "I am a Jew, my father is a Jew, my mother is a Jew."
The elder Pearl wrote (Defendourdefenders.org).
Atlas Shrugs has coverage as well, and points to this link at NY Gathering of Eagles.
“We, who witnessed the darkest side of hell, and have since spent every moment of our lives studying the anatomy of terror, we refuse to accept the strategy of normalization that Holder’s decision represents. Terror is a crime against society, and should not be tried in the same court as crimes against individuals or against a particular country.”
Dennehy was one of several entertainment stars who issued a statement challenging Holder’s decision to bring the terrorist detainees to New York City for civilian trials, along with Robert Duvall, Jon Voight, Danny Aiello, Robert Davi, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Ben Stein.
As the rain continued to pour and the wind howled, the crowd’s enthusiasm never waned, sending a powerful message to those seeking to bring war criminals like the 9/11 mastermind to trial in US civilian court: New Yorkers and their fellow Americans view this issue as one of national and Constitutional survival, and they will fight Holder’s decision all the way.
The rally was covered by national and local media and will be online at C-SPAN here (video now active).
