McDonnell & GOP Sweep Virginia, Christie Declaired Winner in New Jersey By Assoc. Press

BUMPED TO TOP! AP declares Chris Christie winner in New Jersey! 10:14 PM

Virginia's polls closed 24 minutes ago and the waiting begins. Jim Gerhaghty at NRO projects a Republican sweep.

Polls close in New Jersey at 8 p.m. There's already suspicion of voter fraud. Pat Cadell, a(n honest) Democrat strategist, is accusing Democrats of voter fraud (Gateway Pundit).

UPDATE: Fox News reports at 14 percent of the vote, McDonnell leads 65 to 35 percent. Can't make a call yet. Yahoo News reports the same. Jim Geraghty at NRO reported earlier that SSEIU thugs are out in the streets of Newark.

UPDATE: 8 p.m. Fox News projects McDonnell wins! Yeeehaahh!!!!!!!! Cuccinelli and Bolling lead by huge margins as well.

NRO says there's good news for Christie in New Jersey, he won over independents 58 to 33 percent over Corzine. He also writes a that reader who is "plugged in" with a NJ Dem predicts Christie will win by one percent.

10:14 p.m. EDT AP Declares Chris Christe the winner in New Jersey, defeating lib incumbent Gov. John Corzine.

Republican Chris Christie has defeated Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine in New Jersey.

With 71 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday night, Christie had 50 percent of the vote to Corzine's 44 percent.

Christie, a 47-year-old former federal prosecutor, became the first member of his party in a dozen years to win a statewide contest in heavily Democratic New Jersey.

The Republican victory deals a blow to President Barack Obama as he readies for next year's midterm elections. Obama campaigned heavily for Corzine.
