This is truly despicable, as the San Francisco Holocaust Memorial was defaced on Monday for the second time in two months. (SFGate):
Witnesses say they saw a man on Monday spraying red paint on the memorial, located near the city's scenic Legion of Honor museum.
Police say the tagger wore a white bandanna, carried a black messenger bag and fled in a car waiting nearby. Police did not describe the content of the graffiti, which city officials said was removed Tuesday.
City director of cultural affairs, Luis Cancel, said removing the graffiti costs between $6,000 and $8,000.
Cancel said the graffiti made reference to Israel, but did not know exactly what had been written.
The incident was at least the second time in recent months that the display of 11 life-sized figures was vandalized. Earlier this year, swastikas were drawn on the bronze sculpture using a black marker, and a swastika was scratched into a plaque near the statues.
Mayor Gavin Newsom issued a statement condemning the vandalism.
The same day (M.I.M. note: as an anti-Israel rally outside Dianne Feinstein's office), vandals tagged the Holocaust memorial outside the Palace of the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, which was defaced in November. The Anti-Defamation League offered a reward to find the culprit, but no leads had materialized as of press time.
“Israel — there is blood is on your hands” was written in red, spray-painted letters about 3 feet tall. The vandal also sprayed red paint on the hands of the bronze figures.
“It’s just sickening that the memorial got hit, again,” said Nancy Apel, associate director at the Anti-Defamation League. “It’s public art supported by the city and the city will have to pay for it out of our tax dollars to permanently abate any damage done. All San Franciscans should be offended.”
Witnesses saw the vandal, but he fled before San Francisco police officers arrived on the seen, she added. The SFPD could not be reached for comment before press time.
Luis Cancel, the city's director of cultural affairs, said today the effort required the hiring of art conservators to strip off the damage and apply a new protective coating to parts of the memorial, costing the city between $6,000 and $8,000.Meanwhile, some over at SFist, used the Mayor's condemnation of the graffiti to make anti-Semitic jokes.
A similar case in November, when the memorial was defaced with depictions of swastikas inside the Star of David, cost the city the same amount to repair, Cancel said.
"We've pretty much depleted our conservation budget for this fiscal year, which is only $16,000," he said.
Since, naturally, Jews control the media (oh, we kid.) and the Gav loves the media, Mayor Gavin Newsom sent out the following statement yesterday, condemning the defacing of the SF Holocaust Memorial.

Israel Defends Itself Against Ongoing Terrorist Attacks; Leftists, Cindy Sheehan & Islamofascism Deniers Plan Rallies Tomorrow To Support Hamas
Rocket attacks increased by 500 percent after Israel withdrew completely from the Gaza Strip in August 2005. During an informal six-month lull, some 215 rockets were launched at Israel.
...I recognize that the person who killed my son, Casey, in Iraq had every right to do so. (so, what the hell kind of mother are you saying that?) I am not in any way happy about it, but if Casey's commander-in-chief and vice commander-in-chief had not placed him (immorally AND illegally) in the country of Iraq to be a an occupier, then the Iraqi would not have killed him. (never mind her son is a hero and voluntarily signed up for military service out of his own free will, knowing full well he could be called to war).
...Let's play the "al-Qaeda committed 9-11" game. If so, I believe and Osama bin Laden has confirmed it: one of the reasons that we were attacked on 9-11 is the USA's overwhelming support of Israel in Israel's violent and inhumane occupation of Palestine and oppression of the Palestinian people. (in other words, blame "da Jooos" for 9/11)
...I don't think I would like a foreign country to come to America and occupy my community…I think I may even resist that occupation and call myself a "freedom fighter" or "patriot," but never a "terrorist." This micro scenario is what the peoples of Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine must undergo on a macro and daily basis from the "super-religious" Judeo/Christian cultures of Israel/America.
...With dual-citizen, Rahm Emanuel as Obama's chief of staff and ultra-Zionists, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden in tip-top positions, I see no relief for the people of Palestine (or Iraq/Afghanistan, for that matter) in the near future, but this issue is one that must take precedence in the new regime.
...The Jesus that the Christians worship, whose story originated in that part of the world said: "No one can serve two masters (Mt 6:4)." It is time that the Israeli lobby's (AIPAC) influence (the Leftist code word for "The Jewish Lobby") be eliminated from our government and it is time that our elected politicians first think of what's good for America and Americans---being Israel's proxy in the international community and supporting Israel financially and defending its abominable behavior to the Palestinians has proven to be disastrous for our country.
There are many citizens in Israel who abhor the behavior of their government, as many of us abhor the behavior of our government---rejecting state-sponsored violence and occupation doesn't make one "anti-Semitic" or "anti-American" it makes one "pro-Human." Such accusations are puerile and meant to demean the person who is "pro-Human" because the message of peace cannot be credibly attacked.
Here's another inconvenient truth for Cindy and the Jew-hating Left, the following quotes from a noted American.
". . . You declare, my friend, that you do not hate the Jews, you are merely 'anti-Zionist.' And I say, let the truth ring forth from the high mountain tops, let it echo through the valleys of God's green earth: When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews--this is God's own truth.
"Antisemitism, the hatred of the Jewish people, has been and remains a blot on the soul of mankind. In this we are in full agreement. So know also this: anti-Zionist is inherently antisemitic, and ever will be so.
"And what is anti-Zionist? It is the denial to the Jewish people of a fundamental right that we justly claim for the people of Africa and freely accord all other nations of the Globe. It is discrimination against Jews, my friend, because they are Jews. In short, it is antisemitism.
"The antisemite rejoices at any opportunity to vent his malice. The times have made it unpopular, in the West, to proclaim openly a hatred of the Jews. This being the case, the antisemite must constantly seek new forms and forums for his poison. How he must revel in the new masquerade! He does not hate the Jews, he is just 'anti-Zionist'!
Let my words echo in the depths of your soul: When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews--make no mistake about it."
Whose words are those? None other than Nobel Peace Prize winner Martin Luther King Jr.
First, when you hear people call on Israel to show “restraint,” remember that “restraint” is precisely what Israel has been showing for the past three and a half years as Hamas has launched thousands of Kassam rockets at Sderot and other locations inside Israel. Second, this was not an attack but a counter-attack, almost purely an act of self-defense that featured extensive warnings in the days before it was launched in an effort to minimize civilian casualties. Third, the Hamas terror bases were evidently located in civilian neighborhoods. According to international law, the responsibility for any civilian casualties in such a situation rests entirely with those who a) failed to wear uniforms and b) interwove themselves with non-combatants. The fault is Hamas’s, not Israel’s.
For that matter, our government must allow Israel to do what it has to do in confronting these constant attacks and stop talking about "cease fires." What happens to Israel affects us directly, as the US and Israel are seen as one in the same by the Islamofascists. No amout of "good will" on our part will change that.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas today with your families and loved ones. If you're travelling, be safe.
Blogging will be light over the next few days, as I recharge my batteries for the coming year and, most importantly, spend this time with my family.

Where "That One" will be staying, it must be noted, would be out or reach for most working Americans, a $9 million resort with an estate which rents for between $2,500 to $3,500 a day.
The Smoking Gun has more on Obama's luxurious getaway, and photos (see below) from the online listing (now removed).
Here's the rental listing for the $9 million Hawaiian estate that President-elect Barack Obama is renting over the Christmas holiday. The five-bedroom estate rents for upwards of $3500-a-day and sits on an acre fronting Kailua Beach in Oahu. The online listing was removed from the Hawaii's Best Rentals web site after the Associated Press yesterday reported details of the Obama vacation retreat, which was purchased earlier this year for $9 million by Kevin Comcowich, a 40-year-old Houston portfolio manager. For additional photos of the temporary Obama residence, click here for exterior shots and click here for interior photos (including one obligatory kitchen porn shot). (3 pages)
Personally, I wouldn't care with what most people spend their money or where they vacation. Obama, however, is a different story. Here's a Democrat President-elect who plays the class-warfare card, espouses socialism and once talked about "spreading the wealth." Contrast that image with how he vacations like a prince, while many Americans have lost or are on the verge of losing their jobs.

Five Muslim immigrants accused of scheming to massacre U.S. soldiers at Fort Dix were convicted of conspiracy Monday in a case that tested the FBI's post-Sept. 11 strategy of infiltrating and breaking up terrorist plots in their earliest stages. The men could get life in prison when they are sentenced in April.Predictably, Muslim leaders played the victim card.
Shortly after the convictions of five NJ Muslim men plotting to kill US soldiers, several Islamic leaders have come out against the verdict. The list includes James Yee, the former Muslim chaplain at Guantanamo Bay. He has claimed that they never would of killed anyone and that they were incited by a government informant. In the past Yee was charged with spying for the enemy and treason. Those charges were later dropped.
CAIR spokesperson Jim Sues has said that many Muslims would see this as entrapment and American Muslim Union of Jersey has stated that the defendants do not look like people who would plot an attack like this. According to many Muslims those in their community could never do anything wrong.
"Chaplin" Yee also had the unmitigated nerve to add the following:
"All of this doesn't help build trust with the American Muslim community, and that is vital if our law enforcement is going to fight terrorism," he said. "If anyone can improve security, it's our community, but we need to be seen as trusted partners, not potential suspects."Go ^*%# yourself! How the Hell can Americans trust the Muslim community when CAIR and every other Islamic pressure group screams "Islamophobia" in response to every Muslim terror attack or arrest/investigation of a Muslim for a terrorist plot?
Note to Chaplin Yee, CAIR and the other pressure groups: trust isn't a one way street. You need to earn it before you can receive it.
In a relevant note to their visit, I heard Oliver North, filling in for Sean Hannity on his radio show, interview retired Lt. Col. Gordon Cucullu, author of the upcoming book Inside Gitmo, The True Story Behind The Myths of Guantanamo Bay. What Lt. Col. Cucullu had to say will not only shock you, it will anger you.
From the accompanying website of the book, Cucullu illustrates in the summary for Chapter 11 the abuse that does go on at Club Gitmo: that of the al-Queda scum (championed by the Left, ACLU and Democrats) attacking the American military guards. In 2005, after a visit to Gitmo, Cucullu wrote:
Our young military men and women routinely endure the vilest invective imaginable, including death threats that spill over to guards’ families. All soldiers and sailors working “inside the wire” have blacked out their name tags so that the detainees will not learn their identities. Before that step was taken the terrorists were threatening to tell their al-Qaeda pals still at large who the guards were. “We will look you up on the Internet,” the prisoners said. “We will find you and slaughter you and your family in your homes at night. We will cut your throats like sheep. We will drink the blood of the infidel.”All this, while the military guards are forbidden to respond to such abuse. But that isn't all.
That is bad enough, but the terrorist prisoners throw more than words at the guards. On a daily basis, American soldiers carrying out their duties within the maximum-security camp are barraged with feces, urine, semen, and spit hurled by the detainees. Secretly fashioned weapons intended for use in attacking guards or fellow detainees are confiscated regularly. When food or other items are passed through the “bean hole”—an opening approximately 4 inches by 24 inches in the cell doors, the detainees have grabbed at the wrists and arms of the Americans feeding them and tried to break their bones.
When guards enter the cells to remove detainees for interrogation sessions, medical visits, or any number of reasons, detainees sometimes climb on the metal bunks and leap on the guards. They have crammed themselves under the bunks, requiring several guards to extract them. Some have attacked unsuspecting soldiers with steel chairs. Determined to inflict maximum damage, detainees have groped under the protective face masks of the guards, clawing their faces and trying to gouge eyes and tear mouths.
Nearly all of these hardened terrorists have been well coached on how to be an American captive. Given any opportunity, they will all claim torture and human rights violations. They have been schooled on counter-interrogation techniques, on how to construct and maintain a cover story, and other subterfuges to fool or deflect interrogators.
Some detainees, including one classified as a “high value intelligence source” that I was able to observe, take pride in discussing their activities and capabilities with interrogators. The man I saw brags about Americans he has killed, other Muslims he has terrorized, attacks he has planned and carried out, and what he will do to the Americans if he has a chance. He is a leader, and affirms his high rank within the al-Qaeda chain. He has started or ended riotous behavior by fellow prisoners on more than one occasion.
And these are the people Obama, the Democrats and some RINOs want here in American jails? People like Gitmo detainee Ramzi Binalshibh? This prisoner said on December 8, 2008: "I want to send my greetings to Osama Bin Laden and reaffirm my allegiance. I hope the Jihad will continue and strike the heart of America with all kinds of weapons of mass destruction."
But what I find the most insulting is that these detained terrorists whom the liberals champion are given better food and living conditions than the US Military members who are guarding them. And, Cucullu writes that the United States Government spends twice as much for the terrorist's food than for the chow for soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
And what has that "kid glove" treatment earned our military? Just ask Democrat Senator Dick Turbin.
These guards at Gitmo deserve the thanks of this nation and our continued support, instead of the politicization and demonization they have received from the liberal politicians and media. Kudos go to MAF for their visit their and to let the military guards know that Americans do support them and remember them.

According to Danny at MAF, a US Navy plane arrived not too long ago to pick them up. Before their departure, they were able to shoot the following video postcard.

The voted themselves a $4,700 pay raise, AFTER telling corporate CEO's to take a cut in their high salaries.
From The Hill:
A crumbling economy, more than 2 million constituents who have lost their jobs this year, and congressional demands of CEOs to work for free did not convince lawmakers to freeze their own pay.
Instead, they will get a $4,700 pay increase, amounting to an additional $2.5 million that taxpayers will spend on congressional salaries, and watchdog groups are not happy about it.
“As lawmakers make a big show of forcing auto executives to accept just $1 a year in salary, they are quietly raiding the vault for their own personal gain,” said Daniel O’Connell, chairman of The Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a non-partisan group. “This money would be much better spent helping the millions of seniors who are living below the poverty line and struggling to keep their heat on this winter.”
Conversely, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has made it clear that she will refuse a proposed $25,000 raise in her salary, even if approved.
Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said she would refuse a $25,000 pay raise during her current term as Alaska governor.Governing by principle. This is just one more reason why I love Sarah Palin and want her to run for President in 2008.
A state commission recommended boosting the governor's pay to $150,000 from $125,000. The five-member state Officers Compensation Commission, created by the state Legislature, also said legislators needed more money, along with the lieutenant governor and government department heads, the Anchorage Daily News reported.
If the commission pushes ahead with a pay raise, Palin will not accept the money, spokesman Bill McAllister said.
"Her view is, it's just not appropriate to accept a pay raise in the middle of the term," he told the newspaper.
According to this story in the Sacramento Bee, Brown planned to follow the law, even though he voted against it. Now, he's changed his mind, probably because he heard the sound of the boots of the Gay Gestapo, goosesteeping towards his office in protest.
As the Attorney General of the State of California, Brown is obligated to follow the law, regardless if it is politically correct or not. Instead, like most liberals, Brown panders to every liberal special interest group and cause, such as his lawsuits in regards to glo-bull warming.
How many times to we hear liberals go after conservative justices or appointees, citing concerns the conservative will put their own personal beliefs above the law or voters' intents?
That's what Jerry Brown is doing and if he is successful in disenfranchising the will of California voters, he should be impeached by a recall.

Today comes word that the MAF delegation will head down to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (aka Club Gitmo) to bring Christmas cheer to the military personnel stationed there guarding al-Queda prisoners.
A story from NewsBlaze, posted by Syncro at FreeRepublic, tells more:
Sacramento, CA - Move America Forward, the nation's largest pro-troop grassroots organization, announced today their nationwide tour to support the troops will include a stop at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Melanie Morgan, Chairman of Move America Forward, said, "We are delighted and excited to be able to personally tell the United States military personnel at Guantanamo Bay how much we appreciate their service to America. We especially appreciate those who have had the difficult duty of containing the worst terrorists, who are imprisoned at the Naval Facility."
..."With so many politicians irresponsibly criticizing the job being done by American troops at Guantanamo Bay, we thought it was important for us to go there and personally tell them that the American people are 100% behind them - despite what a few self-serving politicians have to say," Morgan concluded.
The members of our volunteer military stationed at Club Gitmo have received the worst kind of treatment from the Left in this nation. Day after day, they receive physical attacks from members of the so-called "religion of peace" while they see these same terrorist scum championed by Democrats, Hollywood idiots and other hate-America first types. I can't think of a better gift for our troops there than to have a group of great Americans go down, thank them for their job and let them know most Americans support them 100 percent.
We'll post more about the trip when it comes available.

The Lindhs and their attorney, James Brosnahan, made another public argument for "Johnny Jihad," whose conversion to Islam led him to take a trip to the Middle East (on Mom & Dad's blessing) where celebrated the attack on the USS Cole and even swapped falafel with Osama bin Laden, before turning his back while a CIA agent who moments earlier interrogated him was killed.
According to the San Jose Mercury News:
"This is the last year that President Bush could consider giving a commutation to John Walker Lindh, and there are very good reasons to do that," attorney Jim Brosnahan said at a news conference Wednesday in San Francisco. "I've never eliminated the idea that President Bush might think it's the right thing to do, now that John has served seven years."
Raj Chatterjee, another of Lindh's attorneys, said others detained and/or charged in the "War on Terror" under similar or more serious circumstances have been released after serving less time. "There's a fundamental principle of U.S. jurisprudence, and that is that prison sentences must be fair and similar cases should be treated similarly," he said. "It has become abundantly clear that John has been treated differently."
And when liberals don't get their way, they get nasty. Brosnahan, a known liberal Democrat contributor (remember the Caspar Weinberger indictment before Election 92?), claimed then-Attorney General John Ashcroft "lied" about Lindh just to have a high profile suspect to charge. The parents of Johnny Jihad even went as far as to attack the father of the first American killed in the War on Terror, Johnny Michael Spann, according to the New York Daily News.
"John Lindh had nothing to do with Mike Spann's death," Frank Lindh said in San Francisco. "It was a shameful thing, I think, for that father to continue to make those claims against our son."
Here's an inconvenient truth for Frank Lindh, the "claims" of Mike Spann's father are true. John Walker Lindh did nothing to stop his new jihadi friends from killing one of his own countrymen: a son, a husband and a father. The writing of Robert Young Pelton, a CNN correspondent, confirms this. Pelton, who discovered Lindh after the prison uprising which killed Spann, even stated:
Quite simply, in my opinion, Lindh was a terrorist, a member of what we call al Qaeda, and a man who chose to stay with killers even though he was afforded numerous opportunities to separate himself from his murderous associates.
There's another little problem with Johnny Jihad's lawyer's argument that others who've done similar acts have been released, so why is little Johnny still in prison? David Hicks from Australia is frequently mentioned by these lib attorneys.
The dirty little secret is, once he was released, Hicks refused to apologize for joining up with Islamofascist terrorists. Why shouldn't we expect Lindh to act the same way? He'd just go back to Marin County to teach anti-Americanism at College of Marin, or maybe hang out with his cousin Musa Maguire and his 9/11 Troofer friends on the Islamic speaker circuit.
And there's another question I have. Say President Bush rejects the Lindh's request (and he should reject it outright), would an Obama Administration be more sympathetic? Is that why Frank Lindh made three donations of $500 each to the Obama Campaign, according to OpenSecrets.com? Were these donations made in an effort to release his terrorist son under a President who has been openly hostile to the military, including having a member of Code Pinko as a campaign bundler?
No President should even consider giving Lindh a commutation. To do so would only encourage more treason and disloyalty of American citizens to their nation, as they would realize there would be no punishment for it. Pardoning "Tokyo Rose" as well as the draft dodgers of Vietnam in the 1970's was bad enough.
What John Walker Lindh deserved was a quick field trial for treason by a military judge and execution by a firing squad (yes, I said it, the little bastard should have been executed instead of spending 20 years in prison!). The Spann family does not have a son, husband or father named Mike Spann alive today. Yet Lindh's parents are the epitome of the selfish "me first" Marin County attitude, thinking their son should be set free after taking arms against America.
And for Lindh to go free while a hero like Mike Spann will never be returned to his loved ones, well, that would be the biggest crime of all.

Yesterday afternoon/evening, I had the honor of being the guest of a relative in the media at the White House Press Christmas Party. It also included meeting and having a photo taken with President and Mrs. Bush.
Meeting the President and First Lady was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and an honor. Both of them were warm and charming, and just plain down to Earth, which is one of the things I always loved about both Bushes.
There were also several media personalities whom I met during the course of the evening in radio and print media. Members of the TV media showed up during the second party, later in the evening. All this while eating some of the most delicious food and to have the opportunity to visit several rooms in the White House main floor.
It really was an evening to remember and I'm pretty sure I'll never attend any party quite like one at the White House.

Today, Jonn posted an investigation into the background of Geoff Millard, who is the DC Chapter of IVAW. He's appeared on various TV shows, such as the O'Reilly Factor, as a rep of IVAW. I recognized his face (but didn't remember his name) from these shows, as I saw him last April inside the hearing room at the Dirksen Senate Building during the Petraeus hearings. A security guard had pointed me towards an open seat next to where Millard was sitting. I thanked the guard but refused the seat.
In brief, this is the lowdown on Millard from This Ain't Hell, and please visit there for the details and evidence:
So let’s recap the “street cred” of the anti-war movement; Millard claims to be a sergeant, the Army says he’s a specialist. He claims to have a chest full of medals, the Army says he has two and a ribbon. Millard claims to have been awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, even though he was never a combat infantryman and the Army disagrees with him. Millard claims to have served on the Mexican border, Germany, Qatar, Kuwait and in Iraq and the Army has no record of him ever leaving New York State except for basic training and advanced individual training.
I wonder if Millard has ever heard of the Stolen Valor Act? (thanks again Jonn & Raoul for the clarification)
Plus, like fellow IVAW malcontents Evan Knappencrapper (who threatened to bomb Gathering of Eagles rally, "waste" troop supporters and wrote on his blog "assassinate Michelle Malkin") and Jon DeWald, Millard apparently likes to play the bully.
Now, I’ll admit that I have a hard-on for Millard since he tried to intimidate TSO and me at Winter Soldier by asking us for our blog URLs so they could monitor what we were writing about them from the inside. I’m pretty sure he didn’t ask any of the friendlier bloggers for that same consideration.
Later, he threatened to throw TSO, Rurik and me out of Winter Soldier because TSO talked to a Washington Post reporter. Oh, and he made one of his minions remove me from the Congressional hearing room for Winter Soldier after I filmed him playing general’s aide before the hearings checking mikes and shuffling paper.
Just like Cindy Sheehan (posted below), many of the public faces of IVAW are not the people they claim to be or are portrayed as by the media.
I was recently in Cuba to attend a Human Right's conference. Cuba is a lovely country (with many problems still) that will be celebrating 50 years of Revolution on January 1st of 2009.
Cuba is struggling economically because there are limits to what a tiny island nation can do, especially when the mightiest nation on this planet sits menacingly to the north and has maintained a blockade against trade and travel for many decades. The nation of Cuba is struggling economically, but since they have been able to survive (not quite thrive) after all this time gives the citizens of Cuba a rightful pride and sense of unity that is not so apparent in The Empire that has tried to crush them.
The Revolution led by the Castro brothers, Che Guevara and many other Cuban heroes overthrew the US puppet government in Havana led by US proxy General Fulgencio Batista. The puppet government was installed, in the US way, to protect US business interests in Cuba over the impoverished Cuban people. At the time of the Revolution 75% of Cuba's arable land was owned by US agri-businesses. The Cuban-elite took hundreds of millions of dollars of wealth from the country when they fled along with Batista. The Revolution to Cubans not only means independence, but it means literacy, education, healthcare, housing and, like I mentioned before, a great sense of pride.
Traveling back from Cuba, I was sitting on the cramped plane next to a Bay Area elderly Chinese woman who was returning from a luxury cruise to the Bahamas who asked me: "Why did you choose Cuba to have a Human Right's Conference when their record on Human Right's is not transparent?" Well, first of all, that is not entirely true, but secondly, I asked her if we should have had the conference in the US, when our record on Human Right's is atrocious. It is hard to criticize one nation when your own country is operating a medieval style torture prison on that country's soil.
President George W. Bush on Sunday made a farewell visit to Iraq, a place that defines his presidency (winning a war), just 37 days before he hands the war off to a successor who has pledged to end it (lose the war).
Air Force One, Bush's distinctive powder blue-and-white jetliner, landed at Baghdad International Airport in the afternoon local time, after a secretive Saturday night departure from Washington and an 11-hour flight.
Aiming to celebrate a new security pact between Washington and Baghdad, the president planned meetings with top U.S. officials stationed in Iraq as well as with Iraqi leaders.
It was Bush's fourth visit to the war zone as president and his last before President-elect Barack Obama takes office Jan. 20. Bush's most recent Iraq stop was over 15 months ago, in September 2007.
Bush's trip was conducted under heavy security and a strict cloak of secrecy. People traveling with the president agreed to tell almost no one about the plans. The White House tried to avoid raising suspicion about the president's whereabouts by putting out false schedules detailing activities planned for Bush in Washington on Sunday. Though the security situation in Iraq has improved dramatically, a trip to that war zone is still considered dangerous.
As you recall, this blog and many others celebrated Victory in Iraq Day on November 22. For detailed reasons leading to this conclusion, read the following at Zombietime, who came up with the idea of VI Day, especially this:
On Sunday, November 16, Iraq's cabinet approved a security agreement with the U.S. which top analysts and pundits are saying is the closest we'll ever get to a bureaucratic declaration of victory and of the war's end. Hugh Hewitt, for example, says:
The Battle For Iraq Has Been Won. Will The President-elect Preserve The Victory?
Yesterday's vote by the Iraqi cabinet to approve a status of forces agreement confirms what most reasonable people had concluded this summer --that the battle for Iraq is over and the country is stable and secure even though its enemies remain in small enclaves within the country and across the border in Iran. It has taken five years and come at a high cost in American lives lost and in thousands of wounded soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines. It is, however, a crucial victory in the war against Islamist extremism and for stability in the Middle East.
None of this would have happened without the courageous leadership of George W. Bush, who stayed the course to pursue victory in Iraq.
Thank You, President Bush!
...Damage to the Wasilla Bible Church was estimated at $1 million, authorities said Saturday. No one was injured in the fire, which was set Friday night while a handful of people, including two children, were inside, according to Central Mat-Su Fire Chief James Steele.
He said the blaze was being investigated as an arson but didn't know of any recent threats to the church. Authorities didn't know whether Palin's connection to the church was relevant to the fire, Steele said.
Palin, who was not at the church at the time of the fire, stopped by Saturday. Her spokesman, Bill McAllister, said in a statement that Palin told an assistant pastor she was sorry if the fire was connected to the "undeserved negative attention" the church has received since she became the vice presidential candidate Aug. 29.
"Whatever the motives of the arsonist, the governor has faith in the scriptural passage that what was intended for evil will in some way be used for good," McAllister said.
The 1,000-member evangelical church was the subject of intense scrutiny after Palin was named John McCain's running mate. Early in Palin's campaign, the church was criticized for promoting in a Sunday bulletin a Focus on the Family "Love Won Out Conference" in Anchorage. The conference promised to "help men and women dissatisfied with living homosexually understand that same-sex attractions can be overcome."
The fire was set at the entrance of the church and moved inward as a small group of women were working on crafts, Steele said. The group was alerted to the blaze by a fire alarm.
While it's too early to tell, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a member of the Irreligious Left who was responsible for this. They've been driven into a frenzy by Palin's faith, since people like that horse's ass Keith Olber(no)mann mocked a prayer given by Gov. Palin and turned it around into saying the Iraq War was part of God's plan? None of them had a problem with the Racist Rev. Jeremiah Wright and the Trinity United Church of Hating Whitey. And, to the Left, Gov. Palin praying about "God's Plan" was more harmful than a black racist "pastor" screaming "God Damn America" or how "white folks greed runs a world in need."
Gov. Palin is gracious in her concern to the church leadership, but I don't think she needs to apologize for her faith and how it was perceived by the lib media. The bigotry of a few PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome) sufferers who can't stand people of faith isn't her fault. This arson at her church was the work of a bigoted coward who would, in a previous era, be found wearing a white sheet.
Let's hope Wasilla officials find the cowardly cretin responsible for this, and soon. Best wishes to the parishioners at Wasilla Bible Church, especially during this Christmas season.
UPDATE: Michelle Malkin posted information about a fundraiser from the folks at Team Sarah to help Wasilla Bible Church recover from this apparent act of arson.
Due to arson, Sarah’s home church has suffered $1 million in damage.
I have gotten numerous emails asking for how to help and make donations, so here is how we can show the church and Gov. Palin that Team Sarah members are here to support them in their time of need.
1. Please make your check payable to: Wasilla Bible Church

Proving Rush Limbaugh Right: Marin City School District Debates Changing School Name From MLK To Obama! UPDATE: District Rejects Name Change
At least that's what they are talking about tonight in Marin City, CA, the possibility of renaming the Martin Luther King Jr. Academy at 610 Drake Ave. after the incoming 44th President of the United States. The item was added to the agenda due to "community interest," and the topic is drawing a lot of debate on both sides, as this report from KPIX-TV and the Marin IJ describe.
Whitney Hoyt, president of the Board of Trustees, said the name change is possible, "but I think it's a good tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. to have a school named for him."
Principal Cherisse Baatin said school officials planned to survey staffers and students about changing the name. She said this week's discussion was "responding to the community interest."
Trellin Condra, a former student at Martin Luther King Jr. Academy who has been an administrative assistant at the school for the past 14 years, said "all the staff here is not too pleased" with a name change.
"We like it how it is," said Condra, who was an eighth-grader at the former Richardson Bay School in 1969 when the student body voted to change the school's name to honor King. At that time, the school was in Sausalito before being relocated to Marin City.
...."I like the name Martin Luther King," Condra said. "We just learned about (Obama) a short time ago."
Seventh-grader Angelyne Beltran, 12, of Marin City, said she's against a name change.
"They just want to rename it because he's the first black president," she said. "I don't believe in that. We should keep it how it is now. They should do that in Chicago, not over here."
Eighth-grader Patreona Walker, 13, of San Rafael agreed.
"I was excited about the election, but I think they should just keep it the same," she said, noting students learn a lot about King in studies. "There could be other things that could be named after (Obama) in the future."
Teacher Louis Edney said the Martin Luther King Jr. Academy "stands for a lot of freedom.
"The kids seem very proud of the name," he said. "To change it would be too many changes."
Seventh-grader Asante McCoy, 12, offered a compromise.
"I don't think they should change the name, but I think they should add it in as MLK-Obama or something," he said. "I wouldn't mind that."
Rush Limbaugh is right once again! I heard him mention a couple of weeks ago how a school in New York was going to be named after Obama and he said the following:
I have a warning. Not only am I not joking, Snerdley, I have a prediction. Pretty soon there will be nothing left named Martin Luther King, Jr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevards all over our country will soon be Barack Obama Avenue. Martin Luther King schools will change to Barack Obama schools. Mark my words. It isn't going to be long before things named after Martin Luther King will be collector's items.Back to the case in point, Barack Obama does not deserve the honor, as he has not accomplished anything except having an adoring mainstream liberal media help him win an election.
Martin Luther King Jr., on the other hand, gave his life for the cause of equality among blacks and whites, with the goal of a "color-blind" society. That is a concept lost on the race-baiters who hijacked the civil rights movement after Dr. King's assassination, as well as Obama and many of his radical friends (like the racist Rev. Wright).
We'll see how this turns out after tonight.
UPDATE: The district rejected the name change, according to the Marin IJ.
It Snows In College Station, Texas As California Plans $41 Billon Deficit To Combat Glo-Bull Warming
And it's snowing where my sister and my brother-in-law live. They send this photo below.
No, they don't live South Dakota, or even Maine. This snowfall happened Wednesday in College Station, TX.
Snow is a rarity in Aggieland. According to Right Mind, a friend told them they hadn't seen this much snow in the 22 years they lived in the area. KBTX in Bryan/College Station says this is the first snow for many students attending Texas A&M.
Winter officially hit the Brazos Valley, and for some Texas A&M University students, it was an experience they'll never forget.
"The first time I've ever seen snow live, ever, ever," said Texas A&M student Karen Miranda.
Wednesday evening Miranda and a friend gave snowman-making a whirl, in College Station.
"Its amazing, I've been screaming the whole day. I've been dancing in the road the whole day," said Miranda.
Miranda was not the only college student in town who had never seen the white stuff in person.
"When I go to Colorado, and I don't go to Colorado, so I guess on television or on the internet," said Texas A&M student Erin-Elise Wilson.
While records show more cooler weather in many areas, as well as the rare snowfall in others, California has adopted the nation's most sweeping plan to combat "greenhouse gases," which are alleged to cause so-called glo-bull warming, according to this Associated(with Obama) Press.
The eight-member Air Resources Board unanimously approved the plan despite warnings it will put costly new burdens on businesses at a time when the economy is in extreme crisis, with California forecasting a staggering budget gap of $41.8 billion through mid-2010.
Republican (RINO) Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (Schwarzenkennedy) said he believes the regulations will spur the state's economy and serve as a model for the rest of the country.
"When you look at today's depressed economy, green tech is one of the few bright spots out there, which is yet another reason we should move forward on our environmental goals," Schwarzenegger said in a statement.
The strategy relies on 31 new rules affecting all facets of life, including where people may build their homes and what materials they use to do it.
...Air regulators said the average Californian could see more fuel-efficient cars and plug-in hybrids on showroom floors; better public transportation; housing nearer to schools and businesses; and utility rebates to make their homes more energy-efficient.
But there will also be costs: Cars could become more expensive, and Californians can expect higher electric rates as utilities increase their use of renewable energy. Homes built with energy-efficient materials could also prove more costly, as could gasoline reformulated to release less carbon dioxide.
So what does this mean? Even a Texas Aggie is smart enough to figure this one out. A higher cost of living, more government control and less personal freedom for Californians. They will be told what cars to drive, how high (or low) to set their thermostats, among other things. The price of housing will go up, as "green housing" will become more expensive, placing the American dream of home ownership out of the reach of middle class Californians (like it isn't already). Businesses will not be able to do business in The Golden State, thus they will pack up and head East, taking potential tax dollars with them.
And for all their grand designs of plug in cars and "green" energy, where will the energy come to power them, if coal or even nuclear power is not used? Did you ever think of that, Arnold? What about all you tree-hugging Sierra Club members who hate "cheap gas?"
The only "warming" in California is caused by the hot air coming out of the RINOs and liberals there, who are owned by the environmental extremists. I'm already envisioning traffic in the next few years headed east on I-80 and I-10. Cars with trailers and vans headed out of California, that is.
Get ready for the exodus! Take it from me. Leaving Caleefornia is the best decision you'll ever make.
"Any preacher who dares to point out the simple ugly facts found in every field imaginable is demonized as volatile, controversial, incendiary, inflammatory, anti-American and radical," Wright said, taking time out to note the thousands of Japanese civilians who died 67 years to the day when American warplane dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. (Actually, Dec. 7 marks the day when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.)
Wright probably knew that and calculated coming back to the pulpit Dec. 7th to make his attack, being the attention whore he is. This black version of Fred Phelps probably wouldn't even admit Japan attacked the US at Pearl Harbor, or would find a way to justify it if he was asked.
Any family member or friend of a Pearl Harbor survivor should be outraged by this black racist and this so-called "church."
A daylong work stoppage during which employees were encouraged to "call in gay" to express support for same-sex marriage drew spotty participation nationwide Wednesday, with some gay rights activists praising the concept but questioning its effect.
In San Francisco's gay Castro district, residents and merchants said they endorsed the message behind "Day Without a Gay" but didn't think a work stoppage was practical given the poor economy and the strike's organization.
"If we are going to make a huge impact and not be laughed at, then we have to take the time and make the time to communicate with all the parties. We could have shut down a lot of the hotels," said David Lang, a gymnastics coach. "In theory it's a great idea, but it's being done wrong and now that it's been done wrong, I don't think it will be done again."
Even openly gay far-Left California Assemblyman Mark Leno didn't take the day off.
What's next? Back to the tactics of bullying of Prop 8 donors by the Gay Gestapo?

CHICAGO, ILL. -- Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
That's one of Obama's first priorities today.
He's meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon (November 5th) in Chicago to discuss it.
Will an "anonymous" Obama aide now say that Obama is "mistaken" about the meeting or that the TV station "misspoke?"
GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba - Blaring from a speaker behind a metal grate in his tiny cell in Iraq, the blistering rock from Nine Inch Nails hit Prisoner No. 200343 like a sonic bludgeon.
“Stains like the blood on your teeth,” Trent Reznor snarled over distorted guitars. “Bite. Chew.”
The auditory assault went on for days, then weeks, then months at the U.S. military detention center in Iraq. Twenty hours a day. AC/DC. Queen. Pantera. The prisoner, military contractor Donald Vance of Chicago, told The Associated Press he was soon suicidal.
...Now the detainees aren’t the only ones complaining. Musicians are banding together to demand the U.S. military stop using their songs as weapons.
A campaign being launched Wednesday has brought together groups including Massive Attack and musicians such as Tom Morello, who played with Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave and is now on a solo tour. It will feature minutes of silence during concerts and festivals, said Chloe Davies of the British law group Reprieve, which represents dozens of Guantanamo Bay detainees and is organizing the campaign.
...Not all of the music is hard rock. Christopher Cerf, who wrote music for “Sesame Street,” said he was horrified to learn songs from the children’s TV show were used in interrogations.
“I wouldn’t want my music to be a party to that,” he told AP.
...Morello, of Rage Against the Machine, has been especially forceful in denouncing the practice. During a recent concert in San Francisco, he proposed taking revenge on President George W. Bush.
“I suggest that they level Guantanamo Bay, but they keep one small cell and they put Bush in there ... and they blast some Rage Against the Machine,” he said to whoops and cheers.
Well, Tom Morello, the little commie who loves cop killers (Mumia abu Jamal) should be put in a cell at Club Gitmo and be forced to listen to speeches by Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, at full volume.
After reading the horrors of what happened in Mumbai, I have a lot less patience for these limp-wristed, Left wing pussies who complain that the terrorists aren't comfortable enough, that the music's too loud or the air conditioner is set too low. Islamofascists can cut people's heads off, assault a two year old Jewish child and leave him crying for his mother (whom they killed) and some of these Leftist wimps insist on playing patty cake with them. Their reasoning is it tarnishes our image. Well screw that! I think there are some nations and some groups of people (Islamofascists and the nations who aid them) who need to fear us more!
So, to Hell with Tom Morello, Chloe what's-her-face and the idiot from Sesame Street. Crank up the noise, except I'd make some subtractions and additions to the play list.
AC/DC and some of the other groups music is torture? I don't know. To some, maybe, but every time I hear this, I crank it up on the car stereo and rock out.
If I were in charge of Club Gitmo interrogations, I would use "music" by the following "artists" to torture the terrorists.
1. Any (c)rap "music" (Ludicris, Dr. Dre, P-Diddy, etc. The whole genre)
2. Michael Bolton
3. Yoko Ono
4. Elmo songs from Sesame Street
5. Kenny G.
6. John Mayer
7. Bruce Springsteen
8. John Cougar Mellenhead

...it should be pointed out, Mr. Obama has a relationship with Mr. Blagojevich, having not only endorsed Blagojevich in 2002 and 2006, but having served as a top adviser to the Illinois governor in his first 2002 run for the state house.
In the Democratic gubernatorial primary that year, then-state sen. Obama endorsed former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris. But after Blagojevich won, Obama came around enthusiastically. At the same time, meanwhile, Axelrod had such serious concerns about whether Blagojevich was ready for governing he refused to work for his one-time client.
...On the Chicago TV show "Public Affairs with Jeff Berkowitz" on June 27, 2002, state Sen. Obama said, "Right now, my main focus is to make sure that we elect Rod Blagojevich as Governor, we..."
"You working hard for Rod?" interrupted Berkowitz.
"You betcha," said Obama.
"Hot Rod?" asked the host.
"That's exactly right," Obama said.
In 2004, then-Gov. Blagojevich enthusiastically endorsed Obama for the Senate seat after he won the nomination, and Obama endorsed Blagojevich for his 2006 re-election race in early 2005.
In the Summer of 2006, then-U.S. Sen. Obama backed Blagojevich even though there were serious questions at the time about Blago's hiring practices. At the time, numerous state agencies had had records subpoenaed, with U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald telling authorities he was looking into "very serious allegations of endemic hiring fraud" with a "number of credible witnesses." In an interview with the Chicago Daily Herald in July 2006, then-Sen. Obama said, "I have not followed closely enough what's been taking place in these investigations to comment on them. Obviously I'm concerned about reports that hiring practices at the state weren't, at times, following appropriate procedures. How high up that went, the degree at which the governor was involved, is not something I'm going to speculate on.
"If I received information that made me believe that any Democrat had not been acting in the public interest, I'd be concerned," Obama said.
That said, Mr. Obama said, "If the governor asks me to work on his behalf, I'll be happy to do it."
Apparently the governor did. At the Illinois State Fair in August 2006, Obama spoke on Blagojevich's behalf.
"We've got a governor in Rod Blagojevich who has delivered consistently on behalf of the people of Illinois," Obama told the crowd.
In January 2007, Blagojevich's office reserved the Old State Capitol for
Mr. Obama's presidential announcement at Obama's request.
Blagojevich spokeswoman Rebecca Rausch told reporters that "Representatives
for Sen. Obama contacted the governor's office regarding use of the Old State
Capitol. We contacted the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and reserved the
Old State Capitol for the Senator on February 10th."
The Old State Capitol is where President Abraham Lincoln delivered his
"House Divided" speech in 1858.
The clip of an interview with David Axelrod which I posted earlier refutes Barack Obama's claim today that he "never spoke" with corrupt Illinois Democrat Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
Now an "anonymous" Obama aide is saying Axelrod "misspoke," according to Politico.
An Obama aide, speaking on the condition of anonymity, took back David Axelrod's remark last month that Barack Obama and Rod Blagojevich had spoken recently.
"What the president-elect said today is correct, David Axelrod misspoke," the aide said.
Obama said today the men had not spoken.
An open question: When they last spoke.
The Obama camp is obviously in full CYA mode. Which raises suspicions in my mind.
Culture Of Corruption: Ill Gov Blagojevich Arrested, Accused Of Selling Obama Sen. Seat; Obama Denies Talking With Gov., Axelrod Said Obama Did
CHICAGO - Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich embarked on a "corruption crime spree" and tried to benefit from his ability to appoint President-elect Barack Obama's replacement in the U.S. Senate, federal officials said Tuesday.
At a news conference in Chicago on Tuesday, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald called it a sad day for the citizens of Illinois and alleged that the governor tried to "auction off" the Senate seat "to the highest bidder."
He said the alleged behavior "would make (Abe) Lincoln roll over in his grave."
Blagojevich had been arrested hours earlier and was released later in the day after posting a $4,500 bond.
A 76-page FBI affidavit said the 51-year-old Democrat was intercepted on court-authorized wiretaps over the last month conspiring to sell or trade the vacant Senate seat for personal benefits for himself and his wife, Patti.
I had no contact with the governor or his office so I was not aware of what was happening. As I said it is a sad day for Illinois. Beyond that I don't think it's appropriate for me to comment.
QUESTION: Has he (Obama) expressed a preference on who might replace him in the Senate?
AXELROD: "He has not, uh, I know he has talked to the governor...."
Everybody might as well forget about the dead end alley known as Obama's birth certificate.
Byron York at NRO has excerpts of the indictment.
"I've got this thing and it's f***ing golden, and, uh, uh, I'm just not giving it up for f***in' nothing. I'm not gonna do it. And I can always use it. I can parachute me there."
Ross also reports the following:
The FBI affidavit said Blagojevich had been told by an adviser "the president elect can get Rod Blagojevich's wife on paid corporate boards in exchange for naming the president-elect's pick to the Senate."
Obama in the loop?

“It is absurd to accept a guilty plea from people who were tortured and waterboarded,” said Romero, who is at Guantanamo to observe the proceeding…
Not only did Khalid Shaikh Mohammed mastermind the 9/11 attacks, he personally beheaded Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl (on videotape), just moments after Pearl was forced to say on camera:
“My name is Daniel Pearl. I am an American Jew from California, I come from a Zionist family. My father is Jewish, my mother is Jewish, I am Jewish. My family acts according to the ways of Judaism. We made many family visits in Israel. In the city of B’nei B’rak, there is a street in the name of my grandfather's father, Chaim Pearl, who was a city founder.”
Anthony Romero should have a meeting with the families of those killed on 9/11 and repeat his insipid, stupid defense of these Islamofascist. But I'm sure that slick, terrorist ass-licker wouldn't have the guts to tell the survivor's families why he supports anti-Semitic, anti-American Muslim terrorists.
So will Stewart Smalley go diving in the 100,000 lakes for missing votes or whine to Harry Reid like a spoiled three year old and let the Democrat majority in the Senate steal it for him?
Now the "Big Three" automakers are in line to get more money in a "bailout" to the tune of $15 billion. And once again, the White House and the Democrats are telling you and I, the American taxpayer, to bend over once again and take our medicine.
As I said during the Wall Street Bailout. No way.
Let's face it, all this bailout is, is a financial reward to the allies of the Democrat Party, the Auto Unions. The unions are a large part of the problem to begin with, due to the "cradle to grave" benefits packages they demand. Plus, compare foreign auto companies and their productivity/profitability due to being non-union with that of the "Big Three."
And, this business of an "auto czar" is nothing but an attempt for the government to tell auto companies what kind of cars to make, namely tiny "greenie weenie" cars which no one wants to buy, because they are small and outrageously expensive.
At the same time, the same usual suspects, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, are up there overseeing all this like the foxes guarding the hen house. It was those two who prevented any oversight into Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and the real estate markets crashed as a result. These two should be investigate for their role in that mess and have their asses thrown out of Congress, but their protected by Nancy "Nine Percent" who turns a blind eye to her party's own "Culture of Corruption."
Sixty one percent of Americans are opposed to this bailout. Let's hope there are enough Republicans in the Congress who have learned from the defeats of 2006 & 2008 and will have the courage to listen to the majority of Americans opposed to this bailout.
If not, there will be a heavier electoral price to be paid in 2010.

"Big Easy" Voters Do What "Nine Percent" Nancy Refused To: Get Rid Of "Cold Cash" William Jefferson (D-LA)
Republicans also sent another Congressman to Washington (more at WSJ on both races).
In the 2nd Congressional District, which includes most of New Orleans, Republican attorney Anh "Joseph" Cao won 50% of the vote to Rep. Jefferson's 47% and will become the first Vietnamese-American in Congress. His only previous political experience was an unsuccessful 2007 bid for a seat in the state legislature.
In the 4th Congressional District in western Louisiana, Republican John Fleming squeaked past Democrat Paul Carmouche in the race to replace retiring 10-term Rep. Jim McCrery. Only a few hundred votes separated the two.
Republicans made an aggressive push to take the 2nd District seat from the 61-year-old Mr. Jefferson, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of bribery, laundering money and misusing his congressional office.
...."The people of the 2nd District have spoken,'' Mr. Cao, 41, told supporters at a restaurant near the French Quarter. "We want new direction. We want action. We want accountability."
....Greg Rigamer, a New Orleans political consultant, said his analysis showed turnout in predominantly white sections of the district was double that in black areas. He said that helped push Mr. Cao to victory over Mr. Jefferson, who became Louisiana's first black congressman since Reconstruction when he took office in 1991. "This is quite a feat," Mr. Rigamer said of Mr. Cao's victory.
New Orleans voters had long been loyal to Mr. Jefferson, re-electing him in 2006 even after news of the bribery scandal broke. Late-night TV comics made him the butt of jokes after federal agents said they found $90,000 in alleged bribe money hidden in his freezer.
"Honest Leadership" from Democrats, as promised above in 2006, is an oxymoron. Pelosi refused to do anything about Jefferson, just as she appears unable to punish another corrupt Democrat, Charlie Rangel, the race baiter from Harlem.
The rebuke against the new Democrat majority and the incoming Obama Administration, which began last Tuesday in Georgia after Saxby Chambliss' win, continues.
Now, it's time to stop Stuart Smalley and the 'Rats from stealing the Minnesota Senate Seat.
At 7:55 a.m. the sneak attack by carrier aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy began. By the time it was over almost two hours later, 2,400 Americans were dead, almost 1,200 wounded. Additionally, almost 200 American military aircraft were destroyed and eight battleships damaged or destroyed.
The USS Arizona, hit with an armor piercing bomb, exploded and sank in almost nine minutes. Almost 1,300 men rest entombed in the remains of the ship. Fuel can still be seen coming from the remains.

Information and photos on the attack here, from the Navy Historical Center.
This year, commemoration activities will focus on the response by America, according to AP, including the surprise raid on Japan by Jimmy Doolittle and his Raiders. One of the living Doolittle Raiders will be a keynote speaker.
If there is an airshow in your area and the Tora, Tora, Tora wing of the Commemorative Air Force are there, check it out. It is an opportunity for all ages to learn about the attack in a way that a history book cannot tell. The video below was taken at an Airshow in Harlingen, TX in October 1980.

We are starting our new radio show on January 4th from 2 to 3 (a.m. or p.m.?) on Green 960. It will be on every Sunday and will be streamed and PodCast from the Green 960 website for our out of San Francisco supporters.
We are lining up some exciting shows and interviews, but we need sponsors and subscriptions because the show will cost us about 1200.00/per week.
FOR:$250.00 You will get a signed copy of one of Cindy's Books (Final Edition; Limited Amount) and a "shout out" from Cindy on the air: (this segment is sponsored by YOUR NAME from YOUR CITY)
$500.00 You will get all of the above and a 30 second PSA (Public Service Announcement) for any event you are doing/or for your organization.
$1000.00 You will get all of the above AND become a Founding Member of Cindy Sheehan's Soapbox. This will entitle you to a special mention on our website and advance notice of our special events and plans.
$50.00 a month will make you a sustaining member and a special occasional surprise from Cindy Sheehan. Plus, you will be listed on our website as a sustaining member.
I'm afraid to think what the occasional "surprise" might be from Cindy for the $50 donor.
Maybe she can enlist the help of her friends linked with the Holy Land Foundation to fund her radio show. It's going to be hard for her to fund a radio show with only the five assorted moonbats in the Bay Area who think she still has something relevant to say. I mean, how many times can you say "Bush = War Criminal" in an hour before people will turn the dial? Besides, what's she going to talk about, since she won't have George W. Bush to kick around anymore?
Even if she gets the funds, I don't see her show lasting any more than a month. Cindy Sheehan used up her 15 minutes years ago, but kept insisting on resetting the clock. Even writers who might normally agree with her at the far-Left "alternative" rags East Bay Express (who called her a "shallow egotist) and S.F. Bay Guardian are sick of her. They finally found out what we conservatives were saying back in 2005.
Anybody have one of those giant stage hooks to pull her off the stage?
Throughout the piece, Ayers is as in denial of his past as O.J. Simpson, trying to argue how the Weather Underground group weren't really terrorists while rationalizing his group's violent acts.
"Peaceful protests had failed to stop the war. So we issued a screaming response. But it was not terrorism; we were not engaged in a campaign to kill and injure people indiscriminately, spreading fear and suffering for political ends."
Lies. Coming from the same scum who once said, "Kill all the rich people. ... Bring the revolution home. Kill your parents."
What were Ayer's then girlfriend and other Weathermen killed in a 1970 Greenwich Village explosion planning to do with the bomb they were building? They were planning to set if off at a non-commissioned officers' dance at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. This was followed by the WU's "Declaration of War" on "Amerika," written by Ayers' wife, Bernardine Dohrn.
All over the world, people fighting Amerikan imperialism look to Amerika's youth to use our strategic position behind enemy lines to join forces in the destruction of the empire.
Black people have been fighting almost alone for years. We've known that our job is to lead white kids to armed revolution. We never intended to spend the next five or twenty-five years in jail. ....Tens of thousands have learned that protest and marches don't do it. Revolutionary violence is the only way.
Now we are adapting the classic guerrilla strategy of the Tuparmaros to our own situation here in the most technically advanced country in the world.
Che taught us that "revolutionaries move like fish in the sea." The alienation and contempt that young people have for this country has created the ocean for this revolution.
...The parents of the "privileged" kids have been saying for years that the revolution was a game for us. But the war and racism of this society show that it is too fucked up. We will never live peaceably under this system.
Then there is this excerpt from Ayers' 1974 Communist inspired manifesto, Prairie Fire.
"We believe that carrying out armed struggle will effect the people's consciousness of the nature of the struggle against the state. By beginning the armed struggle, the awareness of its necessity will be furthered. ...Revolutionary action generates revolutionary consciousness; growing consciousness develops revolutionary action. Action teaches the lessons of fighting, and demonstrates that armed struggle is possible. ...The cities will be a major battleground, for the overwhelming majority of people live in the cities; the cities are our terrain.
Ayers' lies are just a continued glorification of the 1960's anti-American radicalism, which popular culture and education has glorified for preceding generations in the hopes they would carry on. Never once have they mentioned that the 1960's anti-war movements were led entirely by domestic Communist organizations for the express purpose of Communist victory in Vietnam.
And of course, Ayers is too much of a coward to be questioned about these matters, so leave it to a sympathetic leftist rag like the New York Slimes to print his garbage.
