First lady Laura Bush says Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin lacks sufficient foreign policy experience but is a very quick study.Or is that what she really said?
Over at FreeRepublic.com, a Freeper named an amused spectator found a YouTube clip of the CNN interview with Mrs. Bush, conducted by Zian Verjee, which tells a different story.
TRANSCRIPT
It's obvious from the interview that Mrs. Bush was not trying to imply that Palin was inexperienced. Unfortunately, she clearly meant to say that has not been in her relm of duties as governor. Never mind that Mrs. Bush clearly stated Palin has executive experience.BUSH: I have a lot of confidence in Sarah Palin, she’s got a lot of really good common sense, and I think that’s very important. She’s also got executive experience from being a governor and a mayor. I’m thrilled to have the chance to vote for Sarah Palin on the Republican ticket.
VERJEE: (Laughs hysterically) But do you think she has the kind of foreign policy experience....?BUSH: Well, obviously, of course she doesn’t have that, you know, that’s not been her role but I think she is a very quick study and uh and fortunately John McCain does have that sort of experience.
But that's just what happens. Say one phase the Obama MSM desperately wants to hear and they twist it out of context in their shameless attempt to help the Obama Campaign.
