WoolseyWatch--Pressuring City Councils To Speak Out In Favor of Surrender in Iraq
After news of the ICE raids last week, I've been checking back on my former area of residence for more news of liberal insanity.
And I found some, thanks to Lynn Woolsey.

The IJ article continues:
And I found some, thanks to Lynn Woolsey.
According to Brad Breithaupt in the Marin IJ, Woolsey wants local city councils to add their voices in favor of surrendering Iraq to al-Queda. While the only reliable ally for the extremist House member is the hippie city council of Fairfax, Mill Valley is being pressured by petition signers to pass a resolution calling for our military to surrender.
Woolsey asked local mayors: "To bring an end to the occupation and to halt the hemorrhage of tax dollars from local projects, I encourage local governments to add your voices to your constituents; by adopting resolutions sending a strong message to Washington - our troops have done everything that has been asked of them, and it's time to bring them home."
Woolsey said the war is "unwinnable" and affects every citizen.
Unwinnable? And what do you base that on, Ms. Woolsey? Testimony from a bunch of phony soldiers in the IVAW? I guess she wouldn't have heard recently about al-Queda chatter admitting that they are losing in Iraq.
"A prolific jihadist sympathizer has posted an ‘explosive’ study on one of the main jihadist websites in which he laments the dire situation that the mujaheddin find themselves in Iraq by citing the steep drop in the number of insurgent operations conducted by the various jihadist groups, most notably Al-Qaeda’s 94 percent decline in operational ability over the last 12 months when only a year and half ago Al-Qaeda accounted for 60 percent of all jihadist activity!" (see chart below)

The IJ article continues:
Larkspur Mayor Kathy Hartzell said she hasn't seen Woolsey's letter, and Mill Valley's was mailed to an old post office box address, said Mayor Shawn Marshall.
Hartzell added the Larkspur council doesn't take stands on matters "that are outside the parameter of our responsibilities."
San Rafael Mayor Al Boro said he's not planning to put Woolsey's request on his council's agenda, either.
There's not a lot of political support for the war on the San Rafael council, he said - adding it is not an issue the council can control or have an impact on.
Somebody forgot to tell Lynn Woolsey this isn't the old Soviet Union, where the lower level party leaders are supposed to goosestep to the direction of their higher ups when they snap their fingers. These city councils understand their priorities are local and they're not supposed to waste time and money meddling in international affairs.
No, Lynn, there is no occupation in Iraq. The country has been handed over to the people and new government there. There has been tremendous success there. Despite the delusional thinking of her and her party, most Americans don't want military defeat. They want victory. The cost of surrender, retreat and defeat would affect all American citizens for the worse, as al-Queda would have access to an oil rich nation as a new base for terrorist operations and would be emboldened to attack America and her allies.
And, yes, we are winning in Iraq. The problem is, Lynn Woolsey and the far Leftists really don't want America to win.

Woolsey is a nut case just fishing for votes! City Councils should not be involved in the national arena, period!
