Democrats To Protest Pro-Troop Caravan

Need more proof that the Democrat party is a Party of Treason that does not support the troops?

From FreeRepublic.com is an alert that the national, Nevada, Washoe County and Carson City Democrat Party will come out and protest the start of Move America Forward's "Fight For Victory" caravan, headed for Washington D.C. for a September 15th rally.

These Democrat websites also state the following lies about MAF:

"Move America Forward, a pro-war(?), California-based Republican front group, opposes a change of course in Iraq and has organized to push back on Americans’ resolve to end the war."

A Move America Forward e-mail alert responds: "This is fascinating to the staff and board members at Move America Forward because we welcome, and have invited to speak at our rallies, persons of ALL political parties who support our troops AND their missions in the war on terrorism. How a major political party could organize a national effort to counter a “Fight for Victory Tour” is baffling? Do these political activists not support Victory for U.S. troops in Iraq?"

Apparently not, because as Rush Limbaugh and others have accurately stated, the Democrat Party is invested in America's defeat for their political gains. In addition, these Democrats must have missed the FAQ section of Move America Forward's website. It states in plain English:

"Move America Forward is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization committed to supporting America’s efforts to defeat terrorism and supporting the brave men and women of our Armed Forces."

Interestingly, while these Democrats have their panties in a knot about MAF supposedly being a "Republican Front Group," they are the same ones making troop support a partisan issue. The e-mail address for the RSVP is linked to a group called Nevada Democrat Veterans and Military Families. Hardly a non-partisan group, the group states it was formed "to dismantle the perception that the Republican Party is more supportive of our troops and veterans (truth hurts, doesn't it libs? M.I.M.). As a new generation of Veterans return from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq the Caucus will support Democratic efforts to ensure that the Department of Veterans Affairs is provided with mandatory FULL FUNDING to fully meet the needs of the nation's veterans."

So? Even Republicans are for making sure that the needs of returning veterans are met. Notice however the Democrat veterans make no mention whatsoever of supporting our military to victory in the War on Islamofascist Terror? Instead of serving as a "support the troops organization," the Nevada Democrat Vets, as well as the uniformed-for-partisan-purposes bully Jon Soltz's VoteVets.org are nothing but liberal organizations whose sole purpose is to promote Democrats to elected power.

I, like some, can't help but wonder: Has "Dirty Harry" Reid been in contact with these groups recently?

On MAF's Daily File Blog, Catherine Moy eloquently puts it all in perspective:

"Many Democrats, including Sen. Lieberman, do understand what happens if we pull out of Iraq before our generals tell us we should.

Ignorance of why America is at war is not reserved for Democrats, of course. And MAF is not visiting Reid’s office because he is a Democrat. He will hear from America’s patriots because he has said that American troops have already lost the war.

Reid’s position is that of a loser. A quitter. A yellow-bellied partisan who wants to use the war in Iraq as a political tool. He and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are not only the leaders of the Democrat Party, but leaders of the white-flag brigade.

What is sad is the late, great Democrat Party has sunken to attacking patriots, those who believe that America will not lose the war in Iraq."

Shame on you Democrats organizing against supporting our troops! Six years after 9/11, America expected unity instead of petty partisanship from you, especially when it came to fighting the War on Islamofascist Terror.

IJ Watch--Liberal Criminal Defense Lawyer Calls For Bush Impeachment

The Leftist editors of the Marin Independent Journal saw fit to give their Marin Voice section in Tuesday's editorial page to Michael Marowitz, a San Rafael criminal defense lawyer, to argue for President Bush's impeachment.

Marowitz cited as reasons for Bush's impeachment the following:

"President Bush's legally frivolous use of executive privilege has thwarted Congress' ability to carry out this vital function (of oversight)."

Does that mean that the President is not allowed to protect himself from a partisan Congress which, instead of doing the business of the people, has been obsessed with investigating every aspect of this administration?

"We are only faintly aware that this administration has kidnapped and dragooned by torture the citizens of many nations in hidden dungeons spread throughout the world. The rational segment of our body politic has rightly concluded that Bush and his neo-con cronies (sic) misled the nation into war."

The Counselor, like many other liberals, shows he's more concerned with the terrorists than the safety of American citizens. Because these people whom Marowitz cries crocodile tears for would love to kill more Americans like they did on 9/11, a date the Counselor obviously has forgotten. He also shows no proof that Bush "misled the nation into war." Bill Clinton, as well as the intelligence agencies of several other nations, said Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. But that was not the only reason we went to war against Saddam Hussein's Iraq.

"He has attempted to create a fascist state under Republican rule by invading the province of prosecutorial discretion and by politicizing the Justice Department, by committing numerous violations of the Hatch Act, which forbids governmental personnel from spending time or using governmental resources for partisan political purposes."

Let's see, like Patrick Fitzgerald, the rogue prosecutor who charged "Scooter" Libby with perjury, even though Fitzgerald knew Libby did not commit the non-crime of leaking Valerie Wilson's name? Give us an example, Counselor, instead of the ad-hominem name calling ("fascist") whcih liberals like to participate in.

"His invitation to destroy the high wall separating church and state through funding of the activities of Christian groups and by pandering to religious zealots in defiance of court rulings during the disgraceful Terri Schiavo debacle debased various clauses of the First Amendment."

What was disgraceful about Terri Schiavo is how liberals like Marowitz wanted that poor woman starved to death because it might threaten their beloved sacrament of abortion on demand. Marowitz also shows a taste of Christophobia in the above passage, referring to "religious zealots," but does not show how the so-called "wall of separation" between church and state was "destroyed." As one famous TV commerical from the 1980's said, "Where's The Beef?"

These are just some examples from Marowitz' scrawl. The problem with his argument is all the accusations made against President Bush, Marowitz provides no concrete examples to support them. None of his allegations rise to the level of "high crimes and misdemeanors," because they are only based on "partisan discord." That is NOT ground for impeachment.

All that is lost on liberals like Marowitz, who has contributed money to at least one Democrat that I could find. They are so wrapped up in partisan anger about the 2000 and 2004 elections that they are more obsessed with taking down Bush and the rest of his administration, instead of al-Queda.

It's Official--Fred Thompson To Run For President

Former Tennessee Senator (and Law & Order star) Fred Thompson announced he will officially seek the Republican nomination for President on September 6.

"I believe that there are millions of Americans who know that our security and prosperity are at risk if we don't address the challenges of our time; the global threat of terrorism; taxes and spending that will bankrupt future generations, and a government that can't seem to get the most basic responsibilities right for its citizens," the former Tennessee senator and "Law & Order" actor said in a statement Thursday that laid out themes of his campaign.

An e-mail received from his website, I'm With Fred, states:

"On September 6, 2007, Fred Thompson will be announcing his intention to run for President of the United States with a webcast available to millions at I'm With Fred.com. The launch of the video will be followed by a five-day campaign tour through Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. On the evening of the 6th, there will also be a National House Party, during which there will be a conference call with Fred.

We enter this campaign in a strong position. Fred is consistently near the top in the polls, and conservatives across the country have put together the closest thing to a draft in recent presidential campaign history in an effort to bring about this day.

Veteran Arrested After Being Shoved Into Pro-Surrender Protester

This is unbelievable. From CBS Channel 13 (click for video) in Reno NV.

A veteran walking across the street in front of a group of pro-Surrender in Iraq protesters is shoved into a woman protester and arrested by police. Of course, the lying hippies yelled that the veteran attacked the woman, which (from the video) obviously did not happen.

Hopefully, this vet has been released and the charges against him dropped.

If you happen to be a part of events supporting our troops and countering the Surrender crowd, please make sure you have at least one video camera or other equipment (digital camera, phone video) on hand to guard against and document these kind of sleazy tricks the Lefties like to pull. Some of these people are apparently threatening to disrupt the Move America Forward caravan (I was directed to a link from Daily Kooks, which mysteriously appears to have been deleted). To these Lefties, free speech is a one way street, and they are intolerant of anyone who expresses "dissent" against them.

Black Flight From San Francisco

Interesting article from USA Today, "San Francisco hopes to reverse black flight" which I found on the Jawa Report. Here are some snippets.

African-Americans are abandoning this famously progressive city at a rate that has alarmed San Francisco officials, who vow to stop the exodus and develop a strategy to win blacks back to the city. In June, Mayor Gavin Newsom appointed a task force to study how to reverse decades of policies — and neglect — that black leaders say have fueled the flight.

...According to Census estimates, the number of blacks here shrank from 13.4% of the population in 1970 to just 6.5% in 2005 — the biggest percentage decline in any major American city.

The story goes on:

No single cause explains the continuing exodus, according to city officials, leaders in the black community, demographers and current and former black residents. The high cost of housing — one of the highest in the nation (just like here in Marin County-M.I.M.)— is a dominant theme, but there are other factors:

•The loss in the 1950s and 1960s of a key black enclave to urban renewal.

•High crime rates in some of the city's surviving black neighborhoods.

•Substandard public housing, as acknowledged by city officials.

•Dissatisfaction with underperforming urban schools.

"Black people really don't matter in San Francisco. It's what this generation of political leadership inherited," says Chuck Collins, president of the YMCA of San Francisco. "There's been a very uneasy truce with the black population."

The task force "ought to study what's wrong with the white power structure, why they can't be responsive to the African-American community," says Amos Brown, pastor of Third Baptist Church and president of the local NAACP chapter. "They didn't need us anymore."

The white power structure? How about the liberal power structure in San Francisco? Instead of race baiting, people like the Rev. Brown need to focus on the liberal politicians they keep electing. Fifty-six percent of San Francisco voters are registered Democrats. What has the Democrat Party done to create opportunity for the black community in San Francisco? Nothing! Nada! Zero!

Obviously, the only time politicians from Nancy Pelosi down to the local level need San Francisco's black community is when it's time for re-election.

Liberals Mad At Ted Nugent But Silent Over Bush Death Threats, Hatred Towards Military

Rock-n-Roll wildman Ted Nugent created a stir over comments he made onstage at a recent Anaheim, CA concert.

I was in Chicago last week…I was in Chicago and I said hey Obama, you might want to suck on one of these, you punk. Obama – he’s a piece of s**t and I told him to suck on my machine gun. Let’s hear it for him.

And then I was in New York and I said, I said hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless (rhymes with rich).

Since I’m in California…how about Barbara Boxer, she might want to suck on my machine gun. Hey, Dianne Feinstein, ride one of these you worthless wh*re.

Liberals have their panties in a knot and are distorting what was said, claiming Nugent joked about "killing Obama"or he "threatens Obama and Clinton With Machine Guns." the Daily Kooks claim Nugent's rant was a "Call To Shoot Obama, Hillary - Media AWOL." Bob Beckel, the prostitute buying Democrat hack, was all up in arms over Ted Nugent but did not condemn the Democrat hate speech towards our military. I don't remember Bob Beckel ever condemning the various outright assassination comments about President Bush.

Nowhere in the video does Ted Nugent make a reference to killing or shooting Obama, Hillary, et al. I think it was a form of sexual innuendo and bravado. Anyone familiar with Ted knows he's famous for that, as well as loud hot guitar riffs. If you don't like it, don't go to his concerts or buy his records. I don't consider myself a fan of Ted Nugent (I like some of his songs) or endorse everthing he says, but at least he's one rock star who stands up for our troops, the Second Amendment and a drug free lifestyle. Note the following comment from Brad Gustafson (via Nugent's website).

"As a veteran of Desert Storm, I want to thank you for the Great show in Rockford. The tribute to the military made me so proud to have served my country. Your dedication to my Brothers and Sisters protecting right now is incredible, again THANK YOU so much for your support of the our MILITARY we need more true Americans like you."

That's more than I can say about anti-American creeps like Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders, who said at a concert.

"Have we gone to war yet? We f**king deserve to get bombed. Bring it on. Let's get rid of all the economic (expletive) this country represents! Bring it on, I hope the Muslims win!"

Liberals who are using the "hypocrisy" card towards conservatives over Nugent's comments need to take a closer look at themselves. They said nothing about Hynde declaring this nation deserves to be attacked. They didn't raise a peep at the Daily Kooks hate speech towards four contractors killed and burned in Fallujah, wishing death upon Vice President Cheney and Tony Snow. You could hear a pin drop from liberals when it came to movies, video games and artwork about assassinating President Bush. Remember the "Kill Bush" T-shirts. What about the "We Support Our Troops When They Shoot Their Officers" sign at a supposed "anti-war" rally in San Francisco?

The Left loves to dish it out, but can't take it when its dished back at them.

NAACP--Let Vick Play Football After Completing Sentence

What does the woman who accused the Duke Lacrosse players of raping her and Michael Vick have in common?

The NAACP has sided with both of them.

Last month, the hypocrisy of the NAACP on the Vick case vs. the Duke Lacrosse players was illustrated here. Now, the supposed civil rights organization says Michael Vick should be allowed to play football with the Atlanta Falcons, once he serves his time after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities and conspiracy to sponsor a dog in a fighting venture.

R.L White, president of the NAACP Atlanta Chapter, said, according to AP "...the NFL, Falcons, and the sponsors not to permanently ban Mr. Vick from his ability to bring hours of enjoyment to fans all over this country."

"Michael Vick has received more negative press than if he had killed a human being." White also said. "His crime is, it was a dog."

Oh, it was "just a dog." Never mind the gruesome manner which Vick and his associates executed these dogs and fought them. Never mind also, that many serial murderers start off killing dogs or cats. Never mind that, racists not too long ago didn't feel guilty about discriminating against African-Americans and Jim Crow laws, because they were "just blacks."

Instead of serving as it once did, as a civil rights organization, the NAACP has become a civil wrongs group. If they were interested in the betterment of the lives of African-Americans, why don't they promote individual responsibility? Why don't they condemn the rampant out-of-wedlock birthrate in the black community? Where are the cries against bad role models like gangsta (c)rappers who promote degradation of women, as well as dog fighting? They won't, because the NAACP has leaders like White and Julian Bond who only specialize in race-baiting, racial division and the promotion of liberal Democrats.

Booker T. Washington, the great educator and African-American leader, once said:

"There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs....There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who do not want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."

He must have been talking about people like R. L. White, Julian Bond and Jesse Jackson.

Recommended Program on History Channel: 9/11 Conspiracies - Fact or Fiction

I want to highly recommend watching the rebroadcast of the two hour program 9/11 Conspiracies - Fact or Fiction, which will re air Saturday, August 25th at 8 p.m. and Sunday August 26 at 12 a.m.

This program aired last night and really takes apart these wackos in the so-called "9/11 Truth" movement. Here's a snippet as a preview.



There is also a website that takes on the prepubescent Dylan Avery (who is in desperate need of a girlfriend), the creator of the crockumentary "Loose Change." The website is called Screw Loose Change and I will be adding it to my blogroll. It also takes on other "truthers" like Alex Jones from Austin, TX. Jones got his start on ACTV public access as a tinfoil hat clown ranting about the "New World Order" and then landed a job at KLBJ-AM 590 in Austin to voice his black helicopter conspiracy theories. Cindy Sheehan, congressional candidate, appeared on his show recently and stated, "It (WTC collapse) does look to me like a controlled demolition - I'm not an expert - but it does look to me like a controlled demolition - I'm looking at common sense."

That's not common sense, it's called Bush Derangement Syndrome instead. Sheehan, Jones, Avery, Rosie O'Donnell, Charlie Sheen and other "Truthers" suffer a bad case of it.

Global Warming Being Blamed For Hurricane Dean

I'm keeping a close eye on Hurricane Dean, because it could make landfall in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas where I grew up and where family members still live.

But regardless of its path, I'm waiting to see how some will exploit the damage and loss of life caused by this storm for their own political purposes and causes, like was done for Hurricane Katrina (D-Louisiana).

In some ways, it has begun, as P.J. Gladnick of Newsbusters.org points out (Global Warming Already Cited in Hurricane Dean Story).

What the "Sky is Falling" Chicken Little crowd ignores is the history of intense hurricanes extends further back than five years ago. What about Hurricane Camille, which struck southern Mississippi (the same area Katrina hit in 2005) with 200 mile per hour winds? That was in 1969. Six years later, magazine stories were being published about global cooling and the coming ice age.

South Texas has been no stranger to strong hurricanes. There was the Labor Day 1933 hurricane. 1933 was the second strongest season next to 2005, were they talking about man-made global warming then?

Which brings us to August 1980, when Hurricane Allen hit the area. Allen was the strongest Atlantic hurricane since Camille, with winds once measured at 190 miles. It set a record for the longest time a hurricane stayed at Category 5 (three days). It had a slightly lower barometric pressure than Hurricane Katrina. Those of us who lived in the Rio Grande Valley woke up early the morning of August 9, 1980 to wind and rain and reports of tornadoes hitting areas in Brownsville, while we held our breath for the stronger winds to hit. Though the destruction was great, it was not as bad as first feared. Allen came ashore at a wildlife refuge in eastern Cameron County and lumbered up to the Willacy/Kenedy County border, destroying the tiny fishing village of Port Mansfield. Thankfully, no lives were lost in the lower Rio Grande Valley area.


Other Category 5 hurricanes had threatened those of us living in South Texas. Anita in August/September 1977 and Gilbert in 1988. However, they hit about 100 miles south of Brownsville, near La Pesca, Mexico. So where was all the talk about Global Warming in 1977, 1980 and 1988?

It would be great if there was more facts and historical perspective in reporting on hurricanes and other storms, instead of the politicization and global warming fearmongering we've seen lately.

Liberals Mourn Terrorism Conviction of Jose Padilla

Jose Padilla, the Muslim convert arrested for a possible plot to set off a dirty bomb for al-Queda, was convicted yesterday, along with two other defendants, for giving material support to al-Queda and conspiracy to murder.

While patriots can look at his conviction as another victory in the War on Islamofascist terrorism, fear and paranoia left liberals and Democrat grassroots activists dumbstruck. Their responses made it appear to be in sympathy for Padilla and mourning that he and his terrorist co-conspirators were found guilty. They screamed about the supposed upcoming "police state" and claimed (with not a shed of evidence) that Padilla had been tortured.

The Washington Compost wrote an editorial that decried the five years taken to get a verdict is "an indictment of the (Bush) Administration."

Two examples from the Leftist kook website Daily Kos were posted yesterday at LGF. One post called Padilla a "martyr" in the War on Terror, stating:

"The case against against Padilla hinged on one piece of paper: an application with his fingerprints. If this is enough to incarcerate and torture an American citizen, then America the Beautiful has truly fallen to fear, fascism, and intolerance.

...What a travesty of justice, what a farce of a trial.

Everything points to a coming police state and woe unto all dissenters, both here and everywhere."

Another Kos post, "Padilla Found Guilty...But So Are We For Letting A U.S. Citizen Be Subjected To This" was written by Jesselyn Radack, a former Justice Department official. She wrote:

Over five years after his arrest, multiple trips to the Supreme Court, and being held (and apparently tortured) for years in a military brig without charge, counsel or judicial review--Padilla is found guilty. It's a jury verdict that has been so de-legitimized by the Administration's shenanigans in this case, that it's rendered practically (if not legally) meaningless. And we should all feel guilty for allowing a U.S. citizen to be subjected to this.

Radack, as you recall, spoke to an anti-military rally in Washington D.C. last January held by the Communist front group United for Peace and Justice. Cheers came from the audience when she mentioned working on the case of the Marin Taliban, John Walker Lindh. Now, along with Lindh, Radack has another terrorist in Padilla to feel sorry for.

Bob Fertik, one of the loons at Democrats.com, actually had the audacity to say Padilla's conviction is another reason President Bush should be impeached.

"It's time for every American to demand Bush's impeachment - before we all become Jose Padillas."

Sorry Bobby boy, you cannot impeach the President for doing his constitutional duty. Then again, Fertik has been agitating for Bush's impeachment since 2001. To illustrate how sick Fertik and the folks at Democrats.com are, they made fun of Ann Coulter's tribute to Barbara Olson, the conservative author killed on American Airlines Flight 77 on 9/11. The next year, they claimed United Airlines Flight 93 was shot down on orders from President Bush.

More Slander of US Troops By Obama, AP

Add Barack Hussein "Osama-Obama" (as "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy called him) to the list of Democrats like Hanoi John Kerry and Tiny Dick Turbin who have slandered our troops.

At a campaign stop in New Hampshire yesterday, the candidate for the Democrat party's nomination said of our soldiers in Afghanistan:

"We've got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there."

Then the Associated (for Terrorists) Press came to Osama-Obama's aid and claimed, from their count, (they don't list their source) "that Western forces have been killing civilians at a faster rate than the insurgents have been killing civilians."

No wonder many Americans believe there is a liberal media bias.

...and the Democrats claim they support our troops?

Daly, Anti-Military Groups Renew Attack on Blue Angels

The attempt by San Francisco politicians and anti-military groups to ground the Blue Angels during fleet week began anew today.

A story in the Examiner, linked by Michelle Malkin on her blog, notes that S.F. Stupidvisor Chris Daly introduced a non-binding resolution to the Audit and Oversight Committee for a vote that "would call on San Francisco’s congressional representatives, including Sens. Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein, to 'use all resources at their disposal to bring a permanent halt to unnecessary flyovers by military aircraft.'”

As of this writing, it is not known if the measure passed, but the Examiner story mentioned two of the three supervisors on the committee--Sean Elsbernd and Michela Alioto-Pier were not in favor of the plan. If it is passed, the proposal would go to the entire board for a vote.

This attempt to ground the Blue Angels is not about "public safety." It is another attack on the United States Military by local politicians and groups hostile to those in uniform. In writing this proposal, Daly huddled with anti-America, anti-military groups like Global Exchange and Code Pinko Women for Peace, led by Castro apologist Susan "Medea" Benjamin. Code Pinko's treasonous past has been illustrated several times here at M.I.M.

Stupidvisor Daly, as a so-called "progressive" is an obvious fellow traveller to these groups hostile to our military as well as law enforcement. According to Wikipedia, Daly was also behind a measure to eliminate the post of Police Chief in San Francisco due to disagreements with the politically correct Chief Heather Fong about police patrols. Daly was quoted as saying "What they (S.F. police) fear is the end of their reign of terror in San Francisco."

Even more telling about Daly's status as an extreme Left winger is how me met his future wife at the World Youth Festival, (organized by the leftist youth organization World Federation of Democratic Youth) in Havana, Cuba. When the event was held there in 1997, the theme was "For Anti-Imperialist Solidarity, Peace and Friendship."

Whittier Democrat Club Angry At Ma Sheehan

Cindy Sheehan, a.k.a. "Mama Moonbat" formally announced her candidacy for Nancy Pelosi's congressional seat on Thursday and at least one Northern California Democrat club expressed its displeasure.

According to the Whittier Daily News, J. Paton Marshall, corresponding secretary for the Robert F. Kennedy Democratic Club published a letter to Sheehan in their newsletter. The Whittier Democrats told her, "If you continue with this threat to embarrass the speaker (Pelosi), it is very possible that the voters will turn against the Democratic leadership in Congress and return the Republicans to the majority."

Showing the Democrat's true agenda, the letter also says, "If that happens, all investigations will cease and justice for Bush and Cheney will be impossible."

From that line, I guess it's safe to say the Whittier Democrats, like most nationally, want to see Bush and Cheney "brought to justice" more than Osama bin Laden and al-Queda.

Murtha's Staff Hangs Up On Blogger Who Asks About Haditha Marines

Murder charges against two Marines in the deaths of 24 Iraqis in Haditha were dropped on Thursday. The news was met without an overdue apology from the office of Abscam unindicted co-conspirator "Jihad" Jackoff Murtha.

If you recall, Murtha, a former Marine, prejudged these men on national television, accusing them of killing "innocent civilians in cold blood." His words were picked up by al-Jazzerra, proving that the Islamofascist enemy is listening to our defeatist politicians and using their words for propaganda.

Yesterday, Bryan at HotAir.com called Murtha's office and was hung up on by the Congressman's staff.

IJ Watch--Editors Dishonor Troops In Editorial

"I support the troops, but I don't support the war."

That's a statement used often by the so-called anti-war Left who are too cowardly to say how much they hate the military. At best, this statement is oxymoronic. It is like going up to a group of 49ers fans and stating "I support the 49ers, but I hope they don't go to the playoffs."

The editors at the Marin Independent Journal took up the mantra in yesterday's editorial "Honor the warrior, if not the war."

Their editorial focused on two stories of the price of war. One was former San Rafael High School wrestler Bjorn Steinmo, who was shot in the face two weeks ago in Iraq. This man truly had the Hand of God protecting him, as the bullet missed hitting his brain. The other story was about a documentary "Shakey's Hill" produced by former CBS cameraman and Ross resident Norman Lloyd.

In the online version of the IJ editorial, the editors wrote:

"Their stories are important. Wars often are so big it is easy to overlook each individual's sacrifice.

WE ARE GRATEFUL that Bjorn Steinmo escaped death near Fallujah. We wish him good luck and a speedy and full recovery. We hope he comes home to Marin soon.

We thank him, and all those other soldiers, who have put their lives on the line in service of their country - whether it be in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq or earlier wars.

Nice enough, right? But the slap in the face with the velvet glove came in the final paragraph which did not appear in the on-line version, but appeared in the print edition. It read:

"But we urge our leaders to stop posturing and to find a path that gets our brave young men and women from harm's way."

"Cut and run!" Says the IJ Editorial Board.

What an insult to these brave warriors as well as their brothers-in-arms who will never return. How about the IJ editors instead urging a way for our nation and leaders to unite so that these brave men and women can come home....after they have achieved VICTORY?

In his eloquent speech to a joint session of Congress on April 19, 1951, General Douglas MacArthur said the following:

"....But once war is forced upon us, there is no other alternative than to apply every available means to bring it to a swift end. War's very object is victory, not prolonged indecision. In war there is no substitute for victory. ... for history
teaches with unmistakable emphasis that appeasement but begets new and bloodier war. It points to no single instance where this end has justified that means, where appeasement has led to more than a sham peace. Like blackmail, it lays the basis for new and successively greater demands until, as in blackmail, violence becomes the only other alternative."

If America did in Iraq what the Marin IJ editorial board, liberal Democrats and a couple of eunuch Republicans would like to do (cut and run), what would happen? Another generation of Americans would have go back to Iraq and fight and even bloodier war, facing an Iraqi population who would resent and not trust us, fearing we might leave once again and let them suffer.

Freedom is not free. Unfortunately, too many liberals here in Marin do not value their freedom, because the price being paid for it is too high. They are too consumed by their insane personal hatred for President Bush that they want our nation to lose the war to Islamofacism.

If the Marin IJ wants to "honor the warrior" they should let them complete their mission and achieve victory. To leave the battlefield before victory is won dishonors those who are wounded and those killed.

And that would be un-American.

Dellums & Lee Wrote Letters For Bakery, Attend Bailey Funeral

Chaucey Bailey, editor of the Oakland Post who was murdered by an employee of Your Black Muslim Bakery last Thursday, was laid to rest in Oakland today. He was "remembered as a hard-working, fearless and uncompromising reporter serving the city's black community (story and footage at KPIX Channel 5).

Also, today, Mattier & Ross in the San Francisco Chronicle wrote that the bakery where Bailey's killer had worked and which had been suspected of various other violent crimes, had earlier received letters of support from Oakland Mayor Ronald "Red" Dellums and U.S. Representative Barbara "Sole Vote Against Military Action after 9/11" Lee.

Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums and Rep. Barbara Lee of Oakland found themselves in the unwelcome spotlight this week over the letters of support they wrote on behalf of the notorious Your Black Muslim Bakery, but they aren't the only politicos who have supported the group over the years.

At the height of its power back in 1996, the splinter Muslim group - whose members were implicated in last week's slaying of newspaper editor Chauncey Bailey - got the city to approve an advance on a $1.2 million federal redevelopment loan to launch training program for health care jobs.

Within three months, the group had burned through $275,000 without turning out a single graduate.

They did, however, spend $650 a month to lease a Cadillac.

Amazing! Your tax dollars at work.

And who was one of the speakers eulogizing Bailey at his funeral? Mayor Dellums, as Michelle Malkin noted on her blog. KPIX-5 also wrote that Representative Lee was among those at Bailey's funeral.

Unnamed Hollywood Lib Says Penn Went Too Far

Even some liberals in Hollywood think Marin resident Sean Penn went too far in travelling to Venezuela to serve as dictator Hugo Chavez propaganda tool.

Bill Zwecker wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times:

"Asking not to be identified, one major Hollywood producer -- himself a big contributor to liberal causes and Democratic candidates -- told this column Sunday, "It's no secret that Sean is very left-wing, even in a town where liberal or even radical politics have long been common. But as much as many people here despise [President] Bush, a lot of us think this trip to Venezuela by [Penn] was wrong.

"Danny Glover did it too. ... It isn't the proper thing and only gives ammunition to conservatives who like to point to Hollywood as being anti-American."

Very interesting. Of course, Hollywood liberals don't look down on Penn's visit because it's anti-American, they're worried that the American public will voice their displeasure at the Box Office.

Sean Penn's Rationalization For Treasonous Venezuelan Trip: "I'm A Journalist"

Why did Sean Penn fly from the San Francisco Bay Area down to Venezuela for a suck up visit to that nation's dictator, Hugo Chavez?

The Leftist actor from the wealthy Marin County hamlet of Ross, CA said he went "as a journalist and so I owe it to that medium to wait until I've digested, fact-checked and finished my journey here."

Journalist? What publication sent the actor/aspiring journalist to the Peoples Republic of Venezuela to go on a Potemkin Village tour with the Great Dictator Chavez as his tour guide?

Was it the San Francisco Chronicle? Doesn't look like it as of now. I called the Chronicle on Monday afternoon and was connected to one of the political columnists, who said he "had no idea" if Penn was writing about his trip for the paper.

Penn wrote a piece in 2004 from Iraq and covered Iran's Presidential Election in 2005 for a series. To get a flavor of Penn's brilliance as a writer (and I say that with tongue in cheek) read his first paragraph from Day 2 of his Iranian visit.

"We were sitting in Nayeb restaurant in central Tehran. I’d been holding a piss through the hours of prayer service. So after I ordered my lunch, I excused myself to the men’s room. 'Men’s' was written in Farsi above, and “Manly” in English below. I stepped into the water closet, grateful to just have a piss. If I’d had more serious business there, it would’ve been a squat job with no hook for one’s jacket. Now, that would’ve been manly."

Wow! Now that's Pulitzer Prize winning material! Just the kind of writing I like to read while having breakfast. No wonder that, under Phil Bronstein's reign as editor, the Chronicle has rapidly lost readership. A high school newspaper has more credibility than the San Francisco Chronicle.

Could it be the anti-capitalist group Global Exchange is behind the trip to Venezuela? Penn went to Iraq for the Chronicle with Susan "Medea" Benjamin, a Fidel Castro sympathizer. It was suspected that Global Exchange may have also been behind his trip to Iran.

Eventually, if he is indeed writing about his trip, we will find out who will be the publisher of Penn's glorification of Chavez' Socialist wonderland. What is interesting is how liberal journalists who have attacked conservative bloggers as "people in their pajamas in front of a computer" are strangely silent about Penn's journalism credentials, or lack thereof. They don't ask if Penn has taken a newswriting class, or if he knows what an AP Stylebook is or how many school board/city council/county commissioners meetings he has covered.

Penn is as much of a journalist as I am a pilot of a Boeing 737, meaning he isn't one. I'm certain he will report on the following which a poster on entertainment website TMZ wrote.

"...Having spent two years in Venezuela, I will know if Penn is a true journalist when he reports that all of the privately owned property in Venezuela is being taken away by the government, aka socialist leader Chavez. (sounds like Russia) As an oil rich country, the only OPEC nation outside of the Middle East, all of the oil profits are being squandered by making nice-nice with the likes of Fidel Castro, China and other nations that do not need oil GIVEN to them, and not being put back into the welfare of the country."

That will not be covered by Penn. That is, if Benjamin and Norman Solomon are aiding Penn in his "fact checking." Solomon, a Leftist activist, accompanied Penn to Iraq in 2005. the year before, Solomon said "if President Bush wants al-Jazeera to stop airing grisly footage of dead Iraqi civilians, as commander in chief he could order U.S. troops to stop killing them."

In any case, if Penn intends to write about his time in Venezuela, Benjamin and Solomon will most likely make sure it will be nothing but pro-Chavez, anti-American propaganda. In that respect, Penn is a willing "useful idot" not just to Hugo Chavez, but also anti-American Leftists like Medea Benjamin and Norman Solomon.

Also, in an upcoming interview with Esquire, Penn was asked if he wants the U.S. to win the War in Iraq. He cowardly evaded hoping for America's defeat, saying instead, "I think we're past that point in human evolution where there's such a thing as winning wars."

Shame on Bill O'Reilly!


I've watched his so-called "No Spin Zone" from time to time. While I never understood why his liberal critics labeled him a conservative (because he isn't), I'd watch anyway. I disagreed with him when I believed he was wrong and I agreed with him when he was right.

He was right a recently when he exposed the cesspool at the Leftist site DailyKos and how their YearlyKos convention was being sponsored by Jet Blue Airlines. DailyKos is a hate site. I've seen so many examples of hatred towards the Bush Administration, our military, anti-Semitism, etc. At their convention, they had the nerve to snub a man in uniform who told the Kos'ers in attendance that the surge was working.


But the Kos'ers went to war on O'Reilly. They must have done a number on him, because he decided he needed to be "fair and balanced" and attack a conservative site.


So he targeted FreeRepublic.com and sought to find something, anything he could wave in front of the camera, call FReepers "vile" and put us in the same class as people at DailyKos.

Well, Bill O'Reilly, that is a comparison that is way out of line. Let me tell you why.

I have been a member of FreeRepublic since 2000 so I know what I am talking about. The site introduced me, and many others, to the world of grassroots conservative activism. It gives us a meeting place to discuss the issues of the day and participate in protests or counter protests of liberal speakers, so-called anti-war rallies, etc. There are guidelines also to our FReeps and the postings on the website. In case you missed it, Bill, there is a disclaimer on the Home Page which reads:

Sure, there are occasional posts that cross the line, but my experience has been that these are few and the posters usually are "trolls" who come to the site to cause trouble. The moderators do a great job of making sure that the standards for the postings are met. They will find, or be alerted to offensive postings and they are deleted. The same standards are applied to our "FReeps" and we do our best to make sure they are upheld. People who don't want to follow our simple rules are asked to leave and not come back.

Apparently, instead of finding out more about how FreeRepublic operates, you fished for a few posts (one of which cannot be found) to find the angle you wanted to spin. At the same time, you mostly wanted to interrupt Kristinn Taylor when he tried to explain everything to you. I'm sure I or anyone else could fish around, find offense postings at your site, but I don't care to give you the $50 bucks a year (or $5 bucks a month) for that privilege.

The good people at FreeRepublic are patriots who cannot and should not be compared to the anti-American hate posted at a regular basis on DailyKos.

Here he is on his Useful Idiot to Dictators Tour with Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. Chavez is holding up a photo of Marxist revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Che's image is the one on shirts worn by upper middle-class Marin kids, as well as fellow Marin County celebrity idiot, Carlos Santana.

Chaucey Bailey, R.I.P. -- Another Victim of "The Religion of Peace"

Chaucey Bailey, editor of the Oakland Post, was murdered Thursday near the Alameda Courthouse. After a raid yesterday at Oakland's Your Black Muslim Bakery, a 19-year old worker, Devaughndre Broussard, has confessed to the murder (from LGF).


Reason given for murdering Bailey? Broussard was angered by stories Bailey had written about the bakery, including articles about previous legal problems. He was also working on another investigative piece against the group.


An article posted on Robert Spencer's Jihad Watch notes that one of the guns used was linked to the bakery. This isn't the first time trouble has been caused by people affiliated with the bakery. Remember the vandalism in Oakland liquor stores in 2005? Two of the men involved received a five year felony probation sentence. Other crimes, including two kidnappings and two killings, occurred in the same neighborhood.


The store's founder, the late Yusef Bey (died in 2003) was once a candidate for Oakland Mayor, according to Sam Spade's San Francisco. He also notes:

In San Francisco we used to see well-dressed black men wearing bow ties and pushing little shopping carts loaded with small pies. They were Your Black Muslim Bakery soldiers. Those jackasses ignored anyone who was not black and focused on selling their little pies to black people exclusively so they could try to recruit them into their racist hate organization. Fortunately I don't see many of those creeps on the streets of San Francisco anymore.


Now the police have finally found out that the leaders of Your Black Muslim Bakery are criminals, narcotics pushers and murderers. It's been common knowledge around the Bay Area for years, so why did it take the police so damn long to wake up and smell the coffee?

Probably because even though people knew, they were afraid to expose it for fear of being labeled as intolerant racists. CAIR (the Council for America's Islamic Revolution) probably would have marched in, called anyone who dared expose the bakery "Islamophobic" and threatened lawsuits. Never mind that the name Your Black Muslim Bakery implies racism and separatism. Thus the double standard. If a group of white Southern Baptists started a Your White Christian Grocery Store, it would have rightfully been exposed and shut down.

Now Chaucey Bailey is dead because too many remained silent about the extremism coming from a bakery.

Sean Penn Cozies Up To Another Dictator, Hugo Chavez

Leftist actor and Marin County resident Sean Penn reprised his role as a useful idiot propaganda tool for anti-American dictators and regimes.

This time, he met with Venezuela's Socialist dictator Hugo Chavez, a fan of Penn's movies and his stance against the War in Iraq. According to AP, Penn applauded while Chavez spewed anti-American venom such as the following:

"In the name of the peoples of the world, President Bush, withdraw the troops from Iraq. Enough already with so much genocide. ..."The U.S. government is afraid, yes afraid that the people of the United States will learn the real truth...because if the people of the United States, those millions and millions of poor people ... if that nation realizes what is truly happening here, there would be a revolution in the United States,"

Chavez also met privately with Penn and asked him "why the (U.S.) empire attacks Chavez so much?" Penn, according to Yahoo news, also wanted to find out more about the situation in Venezuela, touring poor barrio areas as well as state-funded film studios in the oppressed nation. I'm certain these were all Potemkin village style tours arranged by Chavez.

One actress raised in Venezuela, Maria Conchita Alonso, chided Penn, saying "he has no clue what really is going on in Venezuela so he should not talk about it." She hoped Penn "comes to his senses and he realizes that he's being used."

Unfortunately, I don't believe Penn is intelligent enough to realize he's being used. He is so consumed with BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) that he is willing to travel anywhere to give aid and comfort to regimes hostile to the United States because they share his views. Penn is so hostile to President Bush I'm sure, if given the chance, he'd meet with Osama bin Laden and lick his blood stained boots.

Penn is brave enough in our free nation to attack the Bush Administration with a venom similar to Chavez. But if he's so brave, why doesn't Penn ask Chavez about his recent censorship of opposition media while he's lunching with the Great Dictator? Similarly, why doesn't Sean, the great geopolitical analyst, ask his buddy Hugo about the brutality shown towards those who marched in opposition to Chavez' regime? Despite his false pretenses, Sean Penn is not a man of peace. He is a far-Left extremist who once advocated "taking arms against the government." He has spoken at supposed anti-war rallies organized by Communist front groups like United for Peace & Justice. In addition to Chavez, Penn has played as propaganda stooge for dictators like Saddam Hussein during the lead up to the Iraq war. I guess Sean's a chip off the old block. His father Leo was a blacklisted Hollywood actor & director who supported Joseph Stalin and opposed intervention in World War II, until Germany invaded the Soviet Union.

Behind Penn's phony facade as a man of peace is his history of violence. For those who don't know, Sean Penn is quite the "peace activist." He was given a prison sentence for assaulting a photographer in 1987. The following year, he had assault charges filed against him by Madonna, but they were withdrawn the next month when she filed for divorce. More recently, in 2003, this man of peace had his car stolen in Berkeley with a loaded 9mm Glock handgun and unloaded .38-caliber Smith & Wesson inside. In 2005, he was spotted with a shotgun while attempting to rescue people stranded from Hurricane Katrina.

Sean Penn cares nothing about the poor and oppressed in Venezuela or Islamofascist nations like Iran. Instead, he has become this generation's Hanoi Jane Fonda, a traitor who aids and abets jack-booted thug dictators and their regimes which are hostile to this nation.

By the way Sean, you'll never get my money when your movies play at the local theatre.
