The Truth About Kwanzaa

December 26th marks the beginning of Kwanzaa, a holiday promoted on its website as "an African American and Pan-African holiday celebrated by millions throughout the world African community." Additionally, many on the Left have embraced the "holiday" out of political correctness.

Did you know the true origins of Kwanzaa have nothing to do with Africa? Instead, it is rooted in the radical 1960's black power movement and Marxism. Additionally, do you know about the criminal history of the man who founded Kwanzaa?

Kwanzaa was founded in 1966 by Ron Karenga, (a.k.a. Ron Everett), who is currently a Professor and chairman of the Department of Black Studies at California State University, Long Beach. He was a founder of the black militant group United Slaves at UCLA, which was involved in the murder of two Black Panthers in 1969. He was imprisoned in 1971 "for torturing two black women by whipping them with electrical cords and beating them with a karate baton after stripping them naked. He placed in the mouth of one of the victims a hot soldering iron, also scarring her face with the device. He put one of her big toes in a vise, and detergent and running water in both their mouths."

Karenga told the Washington ComPost the following about Kwanzaa:

"People think it's African, but it's not. I came up with Kwanzaa because black people in this country wouldn't celebrate it if they knew it was American. Also, I put it around Christmas because I knew that's when a lot of bloods would be partying."
Blogger La Shawn Barber noted that Karenga once said the following about Christianity:

“Belief in spooks who threaten us if we don’t worship them and demand we turn over our destiny and daily lives must be categorized as spookism and condemned.”
Kwanzaa's seven principles, Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (self-determination), Ujima (collective work and responsibility), Ujamaa (cooperative economics), Nia (purpose), Kuumba (creativity), and Imani (faith), were also adopted by the Symbionese Liberation Army, the Bay Area Leftist terrorist group that abducted Patty Hearst in 1974.

In his WorldNetDaily column, Les Kinsolving recalled a debate with Karenga in the 1960's. For two other perspectives on Kwanzaa, see "Kwanzaa is for Pagans" by La Shawn Barber and "Kwanzaa — Racist Holiday from Hell" by The Rev. Jessie Lee Peterson of B.O.N.D.

IJ Watch--"Global O" Fails To Bring Peace, Doesn't Stop IJ From Glorifying It

This story can be filed in two categories: "We told you so" and "Get a life!"

The big Global Orgasm for Peace, which originated from a couple of aging hippies in West Marin County, was held yesterday. For those grounded in reality, we knew it was doomed to fail, as Islamic terrorists are still killing in the Middle East and Iran is still trying to obtain nuclear weapons for dangerous motives. Obviously, these madmen are not moved by the sexcapades of Leftists to put down their weapons, sing "Kumbaya," pass the doobie and....well you get the picture.

Though the "Global O" was a failure, the Marin IJ still felt it was worthy of story on the front of Saturday's Marin section. Their one sided article did not illustrate that the Global O was a failure. In fact, the paper should have been accompanied by a public service warning due to the photo of Donna Sheehan and Paul Reffel (who came up with the failed idea) in bed.

Typical of the Marin IJ. A newspaper that regularly glorifies the naive ideas of 1960's retreads and attacks patriots who recognize the enemy, because one simpleton is offended.

I take you back to what was stated here on November 20th.

"When it comes to fighting terrorism, these people are just shooting blanks. The only thing the Global O will do is set new records for Viagra demand in the Point Reyes Station/Bolinas area."

No word is available yet on whether or not Viagra sold out in West Marin yesterday.

Jihad in San Francisco Update: Driver Pleads Not Guilty, His Parents Blame One Victim, Terrorist Claims by Driver Not Followed Up Upon by MSM, City

Omeed Aziz Popal, who went on a rampage hitting pedestrians in Fremont & San Francisco in August, pleaded not guilty to charges of assault with a deadly weapon, battery on a peace officer and reckless evasion from police, according to an AP article.

Popal also faces murder charges in Alameda County for the death of one of his victims. His public defender said they plan to state Popal was not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming he was off his medication.

In her blog today, Michelle Malkin asked: What ever happened to Omeed Aziz Popal and his victims?

One of the victims, Susan Rajic, is now handicapped for life, paralyzed from the neck down after she was thrown against a parked car by the SUV driven by Popal.

But here's the sickening part. In response to a lawsuit seeking payment for Rajic's medial bills, Popal's parents are blaming her for the injuries she suffered, stating she was "careless and negligent." Popal's parents also said it was "within her power to act with due diligence to prevent her injuries."

Almost four months after this terror on the Streets of San Francisco, no one in the MSM has followed up on statements made by Popal, stating that he was a terrorist and that "everyone needs to be killed." Additionally, the MSM or city officials have not pursued claims that Popal shouted "Allah Akbar" when he was captured. Why? Is it because San Francisco Mayor Gavin "Screw State Law, Let's Marry Gays" Newsom and Police Chief Heather Fong are more concerned about political correctness than the safety of their citizens?

For more information about Susan Rajic and where you can contribute to a fund in her name, visit www.SupportSusan.com.

Hanging Terrorist Effigy Stolen by Marin County Terrorist Apologist--Did IJ Try To Incite Anger Towards Resident?

Today’s Marin IJ reported that the hanging Arab terrorist effigy in San Anselmo was stolen over the weekend, after the original story a week ago incited at four hate calls to the resident and at least three negative letters printed in the IJ.

Pat La Tray told the IJ, "Some little communist group or someone in the neighborhood did it (stole the effigy). This will be continued. It'll be impenetrable when I'm finished."

To those outside the area not familiar with the extreme liberal makeup of the San Anselmo/Fairfax area, it is where the American traitor, John Walker Lindh (a.k.a. "Ratboy") was bred in anti-Americanism. Several terrorist apologist groups like the Marin Appeasement & Injustice Coalition and Women in Black have held protests against the War on Terror in the surrounding area.

This morning, La Tray was on KSFO's morning show with Melanie Morgan, Brian Sussman and Officer Vic. He said one of the hate calls he received was from a West Marin publication. Showing the anti-Americanism typical in Marin County, the editor of that West Marin communist rag told La Tray his effigy should be of President Bush and Donald Rumsfeld, wrapped in a burning American flag.

Confirming my suspicions, it appears the IJ story was incited by the complaint of one person. That poses the question--given the liberal, anti-war slant of the IJ, did they write the story in an attempt to provoke anger at La Tray? Three letters, all of them negative, have run by the IJ in their Letters to the Editor section. All the letters called the effigy "racist" and implied that white Europeans were bigger terrorists than Muslims. Clearly, liberals in Marin are more offended by the true face of our enemy instead of 9/11, the burned bodies of American contractors hanging from a bridge, or the gruesome beheadings of Americans. For that matter, the IJ and Marin liberals weren't ashamed of the aforementioned traitor "Ratboy" Lindh.

While La Tray said he'd received over 140 expressions of support, the IJ has not printed any letters to the editor supporting him. Conversely, the IJ made space for letters expressing opposing points of view regarding recent articles on a Christmas display at a Novato house and the color of the Sol Food building in San Rafael. Why no letters to the editor supporting La Tray?

More liberal anti-war bias by the Marin Independent Journal? It appears so.

In case they were under a medical marijuana stupor on September 11, 2001, here's a reminder to Marin liberals who was behind the murder of 3,000 Americans that day.

The Terrorists. Don't see any blind women with seeing-eye dogs, toddlers, Irish-Catholics, Pentacostals or Southern Baptists in this group.

Since Melanie Morgan mentioned this website to La Tray (and thank you so much for your support this year, Mel!), I invite him to send us a photo of the new display when he completes it, as it would be an honor to publicize it here.

Baker Surrender Group Compared To Munich 1938 -- Another Great Ad by David Zucker

Hollywood Producer & Director David Zucker (Airplane! & The Naked Gun) has come up with another great advertisement which uses comedy to make a serious point. That is, how the Iraq Surrender Group led by James Baker is akin to Neville Chamerlain's appeasement of Adolf Hitler at Munich in 1938.

Here's the ad, from YouTube.

Effigy Causes Stir To San Anselmo Resident--CAIR Comments To IJ

Effigy intended as statement against Islamic Terrorism (Photo from Marin IJ website)

In Wednesday's Marin Independent Journal, reporter Tad Whittaker wrote a story entitled "Effigy of 'Arab' stirs uneasiness in San Anselmo."

However, it appears the "uneasiness" that deserved a page one article involved just one San Anselmo resident, Pilar Sinelnikoff, who told the IJ she's "offended everytime she walks by" the effigy created by her neighbor, Pat La Tray.

"I'm appalled he (La Tray) calls himself an American," Sinelnikoff told the IJ. "He's pathetic."

City officials said they only received one formal complaint (possibly Sinelnikoff?) about the display. La Tray's neighbor across the steet commented "I don't have time to be offended."

La Tray said the effigy was his way of taking a stand against terrorism, as well as supporting the troops in Iraq. He told the IJ, "It is a patriotic symbol. It has nothing to do with race or religion." La Tray's wife, a citizen of Thailand, said she was not offended by the effigy and noted that Muslims in her home country were "oppressive."

Taking a stab at the ultra-Liberal makeup of Marin, La Tray added if the effigy looked like President Bush, people in Marin would probably cheer.

Or for that matter I'm sure, a hanging effigy of an American soldier (like the one up around Sacramento a couple of years ago) would get cheers from most Marin liberals who seem more offended by the US Miltary than they are al-Queda.

I understand La Tray's sentiments. The only constructive criticism I would offer him is that he put a photo of Osama bin Laden or Ayman al Zawahiri on the face of the effigy, so that detractors would know for certain he is making a statement against Islamofacist terrorism.

But it doesn't stop there. Whittaker got none other than Ibrahim Hooper of Council of American Islamic Relations to comment for the IJ story on La Tray's effigy.

"I don't think this would promote interfaith understanding," Hooper told the IJ, adding that he "understands the frustration caused by terrorism" but that there were "better ways to express opposition to it that don't reinforce stereotypes against Arabs or Muslims who don't participate."

Did anyone tell reporter Whittaker about how Hooper and CAIR have made a career of intimidating anyone who dares mention Islam and terrorism in the same sentence? They managed to get a radio host from WMAL in Washington DC fired for comments CAIR didn't like. They are currently representing the six Imams who were kicked off a US Airways flight last month in what many (myself included) believe was a premeditated publicity stunt to attack airline security.

The IJ must not know, either, that Hooper (formerly Doug Hooper and once an ABC reporter in Minneapolis) supports Islamic (or Sharia) Law. When asked in a ChronWatch.com article by Rachel Neuwith about CAIR's support of Hamas & Hezbollah, Hooper replied "CAIR does not support these groups publicly."

To the best of my knowledge, CAIR, doesn't care about easing the fears of American citizens about terrorism nor are they interested in fighting terrorism. They always want to portray Muslims as victims of supposedly "Islamophobic" America.

I couldn't say it better than M. Zuhdi Jasser, a Phoenix physician and chairman of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, who wrote in the Arizona Republic about the victimization card played by groups like CAIR.

"...Where were the news conferences, the rallies to protest the endless litany of atrocities performed by people who act supposedly in my religion's name? Where are the denunciations, not against terrorism in the abstract, but clear denunciations of al-Qaida or Hamas, of Wahhabism or militant Islamism, of Darfurian genocide or misogyny and honor killings, to name a few? There is no cry, there is no rage. At best, there is the most tepid of disclaimers. In short, there is no passion. But for victimization, always.

"Only when Americans see that animating passion will they believe that we Muslims are totally against the fascists that have hijacked our religion. There is only so much bandwidth in the American culture to focus upon Islam and Muslims. If we fill it with our shouts of victimization, then the real problems from within and outside our faith community will never be heard."

WoolseyWatch--Terrorists, Rapists & Cop Killers, Oh My! Lynn Votes Against Resolution Condemning Mumia Abu-Jamal Honor

Twenty five years ago, Philadelphia Police Officer Dan Faulkner was murdered at point blank range by Mumia Abu-Jamal, a member of the Black Panther Party and the terrorist group MOVE. In the following years, this convicted cop killer has become a cause for members of the detestable Looney Left such as Ed Asner, Susan Sarandon, Danny Glover and Snoop Dog. He has published books, been the recipient of honorary degrees and given commencement speeches at universities such as UC Santa Cruz.

Michelle Malkin noted that a resolution was approved by the US House of Representatives last week which, according to Opinion Journal.com, condemns "...the decision of St. Denis, France, to name a street in honor of Mumia Abu-Jamal, the convicted murder of Philadelphia Police Office Danny Faulkner."

Thirty one Democrats, including Lynn Woolsey, voted against the resolution. Most of these members are part of the Communist wing of the Democrat Party, a.k.a the "Progressive Caucus.” James Taranto of Opinion Journal renamed Woolsey's gang the "Cop Killer's Caucus."

Siding with a cop killer like Mumia is another footnote in Lynn Woolsey's history of supporting child rapists, potential terrorists and the September 11th jihadists. She voted in the past two years against resolutions remembering the events of September 11, 2001. She spent 2006 voting against bills authorizing the NSA act. She was part of a brief filed in a lawsuit which tried to halt the NSA Terrorist Surveillance program. In 2004, Woolsey wrote a letter of reference for Stewart Pearson, the rapist of a 17 year old Terra Linda girl. Nevertheless, she keeps winning the endorsement of Leftist rags like the Marin Independent Journal & Pacific Sun, plus the liberal voters of Marin & Sonoma Counties keep re-electing this extremist by large margins.

Lynn Woolsey is not "for peace" nor is she a champion for women. She's nothing but a mean, snippy, anti-American extremist who can always be counted upon to side with perpetrators of crime and terrorism instead of its victims.

Iraq Surrender Group Is Munich 1938 Redux

"In war there is no substitute for victory... for history teaches with unmistakable emphasis that appeasement but begets new and bloodier war. It points to no single instance where this end has justified that means, where appeasement had led to more than a sham peace. Like blackmail, it lays the basis for new and successively greater demands until, as in blackmail, violence becomes the only alternative." -- Gen. Douglas MacArthur to Congress, April 1951

I cannot think of any other comparison to this phony baloney Baker Iraq Study Group for Surrender than the sellout of Czechoslovakia by Chamberlain at Munich in 1938. Nowhere is victory mentioned. Already, the liberals in the Democrat party and their propagandists in the MSM are making political hay with this.

Negotiating with Iran and Syria is insane. For James Baker to compare it to negotiating with the Soviet Union shows how outdated his ideas are. As for "consensus" and "bridging the divide" I could give a damn less. Victory over the terrorists in Iraq should be our only objective. Failure should not be an option.

Though he is a decent and honorable man, it looks like George Bush #41 is now exerting his influence over George W. It should be noted that "consensus building" and "diplomatic solutions" is not only what left Saddam Hussein in power, it made George H.W. Bush a one-term President.

This report belongs in the White House fireplace, not on the President's desk.

SFSU Student Board Approves Resolution Condemning Desecration of Terrorist Flags

From Little Green Footballs is a link to San Francisco State University's Golden Gate XPress Online article about a student body resolution against the desecration of flags.

Hezbollah and Hamas flags, that is.

Preceding an ongoing investigation into SF State College Republican behavior, the Associated Students board unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the student group for purposely stomping on flags containing the Arabic symbol for God.

“Associated Students, Inc. deems the College Republicans’ actions as contrary to university values and feel they should be held accountable by the university for their actions,” the resolution says.

...Amid heavy campus police presence at an Oct. 17 anti-terrorism rally in Malcolm X Plaza, some members of the crowd turned angry when the College Republicans stepped on homemade Hezbollah and Hamas flags, though the student group claims they were not initially aware the flags contained the Arabic symbol for God.

...‘They were voicing their concerns that this event was even allowed. They were offended,” said Kimberly Castillo, board member and chair of University Affairs, the committee that drafted the resolution. “We felt it our duty to respond.” Administrators have been criticized for even allowing the rally to take place.

“The actions on the part of the College Republicans amount to no more than hateful religious intolerance, and constitutes an attempt to defy policies outlined and defined by San Francisco State University’s values,” the resolution says. “Members ... pre-mediated the stomping of the flags knowing it would offend some people and possibly incite violence.”

This action stemmed from an October 17 anti-terrorism rally in which flags of the terrorist groups Hamas & Hezbollah were stomped upon by members of the SFSU College Republicans. Proving the Leftist bias on campus, the XPress story that day noted Hezbollah and Hamas as "two Islam-based political parties in the Middle East designated by the United States as terrorist organizations." Terrorist groups viewed as political parties? Perhaps XPress staff writer Jason Shuffler has not been educated at SFSU about the following acts of terror against America committed by one of those so-called "political parties" named Hezbollah.

*The 1983 bombing of the Marine barracks in Beriut, Lebanon.

*The 1985 hijacking of TWA Flight 847 in which US Navy diver Robert Stethem was murdered by the terrorists and his body thrown on the tarmac at Beirut airport.

*The kidnapping of Westerners in Lebanon, including several Americans, in the 1980s. They included the death by torture of CIA Agent William Buckley in 1985. In 1990, Hezbollah released a videotape showing the body of Marine Col. Rich Higgins hanging from the ceiling where he was being held. Higgins was abducted by the terrorist group in 1988.

I'll bet that the Associated Students board of SFSU won't extend the same protection to the American flag. If a student burned Old Glory on campus, the board would probably issue a resolution proclaiming the flag burner as "Student of the Month."

What else has gone on at SFSU that has NOT attracted the outrage of the Student Board?

In May 2002, Jewish students were harassed by a larger group of pro-Palestinian protestors, who (according to the liberal New Republic) hurled epithets such as "Hitler didn't finish the job" and "F--k the Jews" at the Jewish students. Where was the outrage from the SFSU Associated Students board?

In November 2004, Arab students attacked the College Republicans during a "Turnout the Vote" rally. According to Derek Wray, then President of the College Republicans, one protestor said she wanted to "blow up the College Republicans on campus." Where was the outrage from the SFSU Associated Students board?

In 2005, terrorist attorney Lynne Stewart (along with Cindy Sheehan) gave a speech at SFSU. Here is a transcript of the speeches made. When was the last time a pro-America, anti-terrorist speaker was allowed to speak at SFSU?

More evidence that San Francisco Values include support for the enemies of America and Israel. It is also another illustration of how our College campuses are not institutions of higher learning, but indoctrination facilities for the hate-America Left.

If The Shoe Fits, Wear It--Navy Views San Francisco as Anti-Military, Moves Warship Commissioning

A 2008 commissioning of the US Navy's most powerful warship has been moved from San Francisco to San Diego because of the city is seen as anti-military.

From Michelle Malkin.com

Retired Marine Corps Maj. Gen. J. Michael Myatt, chairman of a high-powered committee that was to support a commissioning ceremony for the Makin Island, said he has been informed that the ship would not be commissioned in San Francisco, as scheduled, but in San Diego.

Myatt said he had been told that the Navy was concerned about San Francisco's refusal to provide a homeport for the retired battleship Iowa, which would be turned into a museum, and for the city school board's decision to abolish junior ROTC training in San Francisco high schools.

One of the factors that turned the Pentagon against San Francisco, he said, was widely quoted anti-military remarks made by various city politicians. Some of the remarks got considerable attention, especially ones made by Gerardo Sandoval (M.I.M's Stuck on Stupid Award winner), a member of the Board of Supervisors, who was quoted on national television as saying national defense should be left to "the cops and the Coast Guard.''

Wonder if the City Stupervisors are going to moan over the lost revenues due to the commissioning being moved and their anti-military perception. Hey, San Francisco, you've only got yourselves to blame. You brought this on yourselves!
