War Resistance 101 at San Rafael High School

Marin County Leftists have targeted high school children for their continuing anti-American, anti-military agenda. They will hold a "forum" entitled "Truth and Lies About Joining the Military" on Thursday night at San Rafael High School.

Panelists include Aidan Delgado, an Iraq war vet, Aimee Allison, former combat medic and Pablo Paredes, who was court martialed for refusing orders during the Iraq war. The panelists have promoted their anti-military campaign at other events, including one last October in Berkeley, CA. Participating organizations for that event included the International Socialist Organization, Not In Our Name (a front group for the Revolutionary Communist Party) and Code Pink(o).

Thursday’s event is being sponsored by the Marin Peace & Justice Coalition (an obvious oxymoron, they should be named Appeasement & Injustice Coalition instead), Veterans for Peace San Francisco Chapter, plus Marin County Hope Inc.

"The recruiters don't tell the truth because they just want to get people to join the military; they are using lures to get kids in to get their numbers up" Marg Piaggio, the co-chair of the Appeasement and Injustice Coalition, told the Marin IJ.

No Marg, you're the one who isn't telling the truth. You and your comrades pass off your hatred of America, Israel, President Bush and the military, as well as your embrace of Leftist dictators under the sugarcoated banner of "Peace & Justice." Anyone with a third grade education knows the difference between the United States Armed Forces and the Peace Corps. Additionally the military is an all volunteer force. No one is twisting the arms of high school kids to join the military.

I’m curious as to where the San Rafael School Board is in all of this? Do they know the extremist ideology of the Appeasement & Injustice Coalition and its allies? Why was there no attempt to get some balance to the forum, such as a military recruiter, a veteran or family of a veteran? Finally, why is taxpayer funded property being used for a fundraiser (admission for those 21 and over is $7 to $15) by extremist groups who are encouraging the sabotage of America's war effort?

My guess is it’s business as usual for Marin Public Schools. Remember how the Marin County Board of Education responded to the first anniversary of September 11, 2001? They produced a curriculum which (in part) told grade school children "Currently, it is unknown exactly who launched this attack, and no terrorist group has taken responsibility. There is widespread suspicion surrounding Osama bin Laden." The document also included links to leftist organizations and a quote from Trotsky, on the Red Army use of terrorism as a "necessary evil to promote the worldwide cause of workers and as a response to military actions of counterrevolutionaries and Western Powers."

There's also the radicalism of many teachers in Marin County who use their classroom as an indoctrination facility. I've heard how posters of Che Guevara (Fidel Castro's right hand man) are on display in some classrooms at Tam High School in Mill Valley.

Then again, what else are we to expect from a public school system that helped produce a traitor like "Ratboy" John Walker Lindh?

Another View of Iraq

Victor Davis Hanson has just returned from Iraq and has a much different view of the war than what is given to us by the MSM. See Standoff in Iraq: The IED vs. Democracy, which also appeared last Friday in National Review Online. Today, he's posted The Other Iraq.

Breaking: UAE Agrees To Delay Port Deal

From AP. Great news!

Hillary’s Education Plantation

The Hildebeast was shrieking against school vouchers on Tuesday, claiming it would lead to taxpayer funded “White Supremacist” and “Jihadist” academies.

“Wait a minute! We're not going to send a child with taxpayers dollars to the School of Jihad. 'Well, you gave it to the Catholics, gave it to the Jews, gave it to the private secular people. You're gonna tell me I can't? I'm a taxpayer.” said Hillary.

For video, see Michelle Malkin, Hillary, Unhinged on Vouchers.

Here’s another sterling example of Leftist hypocrisy, one set of rules for them, another for the rest of us. She sent her daughter to an exclusive private school in Washington D.C., yet she would deny our right to the same. Why? Like most Democrats, she is owned lock, stock & barrel by the NEA and other teacher‘s unions.

Hillary’s tried her hand at education before. She was in charge of “education reform” as co-governor of Arkansas. According to Christopher Andersen in his book American Evita, teacher testing championed by Hillary was lax in Arkansas. Her plan implemented “multicultural” studies over history courses. Non-compliant schools would face closures. After the first year of changes (1986), ACT scores in Arkansas went down.

Many studies have shown that the people who benefit the most from school vouchers are lower-income and minority children. It seems Hillary and her party are really the ones who run a plantation when it comes to the education of poor and minorities.

More On Why Port Deal Is Wrong

Do you need more evidence to make you skeptical about the UAE takeover of six U.S. ports? Read the following from LGF, DP World Chairman Not Overly Concerned with Terrorism and a link showing the UAE support of the terrorist group Hamas.

Michelle Malkin goes into great detail in her post Portgate & The Rubber Stampers.

I've heard a lot of the talking points in favor of the port deal and they still don't move me. In a post 9/11 world, we are entitled to skepticism about a deal such as this when we see that terrorism wasn't high on the list of concerns for DP World. The same goes for the UAE not recognizing Israel, their support of Hamas and aiding Iran in gaining nuclear technology.

As much of a supporter as I have been of President Bush, his support of this deal (as well as his Administration's insistence of a "guest worker" program as an answer to stem illegal immigration) is wrong and misguided. I must also (respectfully) have a rare disagreement with Rush Limbaugh, who believes this is a good deal from an economic standpoint. We cannot put economics before security, not at our ports, nor at our nation's borders.

Likewise, I will not promote the supposed national security awakening of Upchuck Schumer and Hillary Rotten Rodham. They are only against this deal for the political angle it gives their party, which has been weak on defense. Their stance doesn't fool me for a minute. Shame on a certain "conservative" talk show in the Bay Area who gave Schumer the Ambulance Chaser a forum on his radio show last week.

Furthermore, Congress needs to reexamine how foreign investment in this nation is conducted and include itself in the oversight. It’s not just the UAE and the ports. Look at how Communist China tried to take over Unocal last fall.

IJ Watch -- More Anti-Death Penalty Bias

As they did for the execution of Clarence Ray Allen last month, and "Tookie" Williams in December, the Marin Independent Journal continues its obvious anti-death penalty bias in coverage of executions at San Quentin prison.

This time, it is for the planned execution of Michael Morales, which was delayed after the prison was unable to meet a court order for a medical professional to give him the fatal dose. It is uncertain when his execution will be carried out.

The IJ ran a photo of someone from the appeasement group Peace Novato in Tuesday's paper. They followed up on Wednesday with a photo of two death penalty opponents reacting to the delay under the photo caption Happy For Delay. Another photo on page A7 is of a Gandhi doll set up by Jes Richardson, who founded "The Gandhi Peace Brigade."

Besides the photos, there were also the plethora of quotes from opponents.

One of those interviewed was an aging hippie named Buff Whitman-Bradley, who is frequently quoted by the IJ due to his affiliation with the Marin Peace & Justice Coalition.

"For them to announce a basically improvised, last-minute way to kill this guy was pretty ghoulish," he said.

Well Buff, did you hear how your friend Mr. Morales killed his victim, a 17 year-old girl, Terri Winchell? He raped her, smashed her head in with a hammer and stabbed her in the heart. Why aren't you saying that Winchell's murder was "pretty ghoulish?"

That is the warped mind of Whitman-Bradley and his ilk. The perpetrator is the victim. Then again, he and his group are neither for peace or justice. They (like other so-called "peace" groups) are only apologists for Islamic & Palestinian terrorists, socialist dictators & brutal murderers. The MP&JC's response after September 11 was to hold protests Friday afternoon at the corner of 3rd & Irwin in San Rafael, CA. They'd hold signs denouncing military action against al-Queda while playing The Internationale on a portable stereo.

Lost in legal circus surrounding the murderer Morales are the victims of this horrible crime, the family of Terri Winchell.

"I'm totally disillusioned with the justice system," said her mother, Barbara Christian. "We've been waiting 25 years with the expectancy that he is gonna pay for his crimes. It feels like we just got punched in the stomach."

Carter Champions Hamas

Ankle Biting Pundits is the place to go for an analysis of Born Again Hypocrite Jimmy Carter's Pro-Hamas OpEd in the Washington Compost.

ABP also shows Carter's past history of attacking Presidents who succeeded him, as well as his endless support of terrorists and dictators worldwide.

Minnesota Democratic Party -- Pro Troop Ads "UnAmerican, Untruthful & A Lie"

Joining the ranks of fellow party members Tiny Dick Turbin, Ted "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy ("The U.S. military presence has become part of the problem, not part of the solution") and Hanoi John Kerry, the Minnesota Democratic Party is also attacking our military.

According to PowerLine Blog, the state party is trying to suppress TV advertisements supporting our military in Iraq and the War on Terror. Brian Melendez, chairman of the Minnesota Democratic Party, held a press conference last Thursday, calling the first of two ads "un-American, untruthful and a lie."

See PowerLine Blog for more details, as well as links to the ads in question.

Alec Baldwin -- "Cheney Is A Terrorist"

From the insane Left's Huffington Post, Hollywood Idiot Alec Baldwin weighed in on the Cheney incident.
"Cheney is a terrorist. He terrorizes our enemies abroad and innocent citizens here at home indiscriminately. Who ever thought Harry Whittington would be the answer to America's prayers. Finally, someone who might get that lying, thieving Cheney into a courtroom to answer some direct questions."

Words of wisdom from a guy who terrorized his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, by beating her.

Clinton Hypocrisy Alert -- Bill & Hill on the Cheney Aftermath

Last week, it was Hillary Rotten who said the following regarding the aftermath of the shooting accident involving Vice President Cheney.

"A tendency of this administration -- from the top all the way to the bottom -- is to withhold information ... to refuse to be forthcoming about information that is of significance and relevance to the jobs that all of you do, and the interests of the American people...Putting it all together, going back years now, there's a pattern and it's a pattern that should be troubling...The refusal of this administration to level with the American people on matters large and small is very disturbing, because it goes counter to the way our constitutional democracy ... is supposed to work."

Now today comes her alleged husband, (and President Bush's "adopted brother") Bill, repeating the DNC mantra. According to AP, the impeached former President (and alleged rapist) accused the administration of having an "enormous penchant for secrecy."

I dont' remember the aggessive MSM coverage after:
Vince Foster's suicide
The possession of 900 FBI files and who hired Craig Livingstone
The secrecy behind Bill's medical records never being released
The disappearance (and subsequent reappearnce) of the Rose Law Firm billing records

How about Hillary's response to Pardongate and her (literally) big brother Hugh's involvement? Here it is.(Thanks to Rush Limbaugh for posting on his website.)
"You know, it came out as a surprise to, uhh, me. Uhh, I didn't know about it, and -- I didn't know about it. I don't know anything, um. I did not know. I did not know. I knew nothing about that, and, uhh, I had no knowledge. But, uh, I didn't know anything. I was heartbroken and -- and shocked by it, and it was a surprise. (Cackling.) I don't know. I wish I knew. You know, I don't -- I don't have any -- any memory at all of -- I knew nothing. Uhhh, I knew nothing. I had no knowledge of that. You know, I never knew. I didn't -- I knew nothing -- I don't know any facts -- I know nothing about -- I -- I don't know anything -- I did not know about it. You know, I have no idea. Um, you know, I -- I don't have any information. I don't know anything. But I only can tell you, uh, what I know."

No, don't see any secrecy in the Clintoon administration. NOT!

It seems Ms. Clinton and the Hero of Chappaquiddick, Ted Kennedy had a laugh at Cheney's expense. According to New York Newsday, it was during a Armed Services Committee hearing.

"When one general used the expression "shooting ourselves in the gut," Kennedy interrupted to say, "I'm not sure that's a good analogy today."

Clinton threw back her head and laughed so heartily it echoed through the cavernous committee room"

If Ted can dish it out, let's see if he can take it. (Click here and have your sound turned up)

Muslim Protests in America Over Cartoons

The protests over the cartoons of Mohammed in a Danish newspaper have made their way to America. There is a protest in Washington D.C. today at the Danish Embassy. Michelle Malkin is on the scene for Cartoon Jihad in Washington D.C. Will link to her updates when she reports back.

A similar protest was held yesterday in New York City. While there was no violence, many signs had disturbing messages. More from LGF & Michelle Malkin)

I wonder if this was the same person who held the same sign at Ground Zero a couple weeks ago.

UPDATE: Want to know more about the Islamic Thinkers Society? Here's a link to a flag desecration video from The Jawa Report and the entry from Wikipedia. I hope the authorities are watching these people closely.

Court Oversight for NSA Program? Sen. Roberts Is Wrong

According to AP, Sen Pat Roberts (R-KS) said yesterday he "wants a special court to oversee" to NSA terrorist surveillance program, which is still labled by the misleading MSM as "domestic wiretapping."

Sen Roberts is wrong.

Where in the Constitution does it authorize either the Congress or the Courts to serve as auditor of every decision the President makes as Commander in Chief? Nowhere! There is a reason why the Framers selected the President of the United States ONLY as Commander in Chief of our military. Because they knew the decisions regarding war in the hands of too many people would hinder the effectiveness of our ability to fight threats from hostile enemies.

Now is not the time for Republicans to wimp out. The American people are behind the President in regards to the terrorist sureillance issue. Our ability to pursue terrorists and stop future terrorist attacks should not be compromised further.

What we need are Congressional hearings into who leaked the NSA story. That leak is more damaging to national security than the supposed "leak" of a Democrat donor who held a desk job at the CIA. Whoever leaked the NSA story, as well as the management of the Treason Times of New York, should be punished to the full extent of the law.

Get a spine, Sen. Roberts. We do not need futher politicization of intelligence from people like Sens. Rockefeller & Levin. You need to put a stop to this!

Drumroll Please: The Inaugural Presentation of The Lt. Gen Russell Honore "Stuck on Stupid" Award

When MIM launched at the beginning of this year, I mentioned that we would have a weekly award to the biggest idiot in the news as chosen by our editorial staff. All we were looking for was a name for our award, and it had to be a good one. Our friends at Ankle Biting Pundits have the Judge Smails Buffoon of the Week award (by the way, did anyone let Lynn Woolsey know she was a recent recipient?) So, we decided to take a cue from them.

Our award is named after Lt. Gen Russell Honore and a famous phrase he used in dealing with the idiotic press after Hurricane Rita on September 20, 2005.

Reporter: General, a little bit more about why that's happening this time, though, and did not have that last time...

Honore: You are stuck on stupid. I'm not going to answer that question. We are going to deal with Rita.

There was a lot of competition in the news this past week for the award. Yet, a Bay Area politician is the inaugural recipient of Marooned in Marin's Lt. Gen. Russell Honore "Stuck on Stupid" Award (and he ought to love an award named after a military man). He is none other than San Francisco City Supervisor Gerardo "We Don't Need No Stinkin' Military" Sandoval.

After voting down the USS Iowa battleship as a museum for the City of San Francisco, the Board of Supervisors is collectively deserving of the Honore Award. Yet, Sandoval took stupidity above and beyond the call of duty when he stated on Fox News' Hannity & Colmes that "we should not have a military." It was even too much for liberal Alan Colmes, who put down his DNC talking points briefly to challenge Sandoval. (Transcript from

Sandoval: The United States should not have a military. All in all, we would be in much, much, much better shape.

Colmes: You've got to be kidding me. We should have no military, we should have no ability to defend ourselves; we should have no armed forces in this country?

Sandoval: Well, we shouldn't have a military that goes abroad and starts wars.

Colmes: You just said we shouldn't have a military. I don't want to give -- I'm speaking out very forcefully to you, because I don't want to give the impression that Democrats hate the military or don't want a military. We may disagree with certain wars, like the ones fought now.

Sandoval: No, but you said should we give up.

Colmes: But to say that we shouldn't have a military is absolutely absurd. It's incredible. That's a ridiculous fringe point of view.

Hannity: That's exactly what I was thinking, Alan. Welcome to San Francisco.

Sandoval: If you're saying that we don't have a right to defend ourselves that's different from we shouldn't have a military.

Colmes: What do you want to defend ourselves -- what do you want to defend ourselves with?

Sandoval: Well, you got cops. It's called the Coast Guard. There's lots of things different.
Colmes: You want to send cops to defend our shores if we're attacked? You want to send cops overseas if we're attacked? Cops?

Yes Alan, Cops? But even the City of San Francisco handcuffs its police force regularly. Look at the recent flap the Mayor of San Francisco and the politically correct police chief created over videos which made for a retirement party. Military recruiters are barred from campuses, guns have been taken away from law abiding citizens. No wonder the murder rate has gone up in the City By The Bay. Walk down certain streets and you’ll be greeted with the sour stench of urine or see human feces on the sidewalk. Yes that’s life in a “progressive” city. Nothing but a cesspool of “good intentions” gone wrong.

Sandoval has in mind another ship where the Iowa was supposed to dock, "the wreckage of the lost ship Fantasy."

MSM Too Busy "Dick Hunting" To Notice Saddam Tapes, UAE Port Takeover

Rasmussen Reports (most accurate poll for the 2004 Presidential Election) came out with a poll today showing only 27% of those polled believe Vice President Dick Cheney's hunting accident raises concerns about his ability to serve as Vice President.

Basically, most Americans believe it was just an embarrasing accident. Nothing to get worked up about.

Think the mainstream media would notice? Naaaah. They're so obsessed with finding some scandal to topple Cheney and then set up President Bush's impeachment. As a result, the media is too busy "Dick Hunting" and ignoring several important stories.

How about the treason of former Vice President Al (Queda) Gore? No word. ABC did air potions of the Saddam Hussein tapes, but that didn't raise many eyebrows. That story might mean Bush was right, after all, for invading Iraq.

Then there is a story that really concerns me and should concern every American. Dubai Ports World, located in the United Arab Emirates, could control six seaports currently owned by London-based Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co.

The Bush Administration is foolishly supporting this sale of the shipping terminals in New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, New Orleans, Miami and Philadelphia to the UAE company. Today, several lawmakers are wisely urging a second review.

Where was the media on this? Until today, they didn't seem to notice. Too busy "Dick Hunting." Need an example? Check out this audio exchange on the John Gambling Show on WABC-AM in New York City with ABC White House Correspondent Ann Compton (courtesy of Mark Levin Fan.).

(Excerpt from Newsmax)

GAMBLING: Ann, let me ask you a question. Is anybody talking about this story . . . about the Dubai Ports World Corporation running our major ports in the United States? You know anything about that?

COMPTON: Whooops. [Nervous laughter]

GAMBLING: The reason I ask you is exactly what you just finished talking about - sucking the oxygen out of the White House and Washington press corps . . . . This is like letting Saudi Arabia do security in our airports. And I think that Washington reporters need to jump on this thing.

COMPTON: Well, send me a quick email, John. It sounds like something I need to see.

IJ Watch -- Ashley Promotes Hanoi Jane's Upcoming Mill Valley Appearance

Along with being the Features Writer for the Marin Independent Journal, Beth Ashley must also be the Treason Reporter for the paper.

Last November, she wrote the sympathetic feature of the American Taliban John Walker Lindh, a.k.a. Ratboy. There have been other feature articles she's written about so-called "peace" groups. In addition to frequently using her Lifestyles Column as a Bush Bashing soapbox, she has also admitted to taking part in so-called "anti-war" rallies.

So, any editor worth his or her salt would not let Ashley cover those stories, you'd think. Not quite! Well, that's the mainstream media for you.

Ashley promoted (without any critical questioning) the February 22 appearance of Hanoi Jane Fonda for a benefit showing of the film "Sir! No Sir" at Mill Valley's Throckmorton Theatre. The film, produced by filmmaker David Zeiger, is a document of the "thousands of GIs whose courageous rebellion helped end the war in Vietnam," according to a poster for the event.

Listed on the host committee for the movie are Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans of Code Pinko, the group which gave $600,000 in aid to Iraqi insurgents. Country Joe McDonald (admittedly named by his parents after Joseph Stalin) and Maria Muldaur ("Midnight at the Oasis") are also on the committee.

Besides the "testimony" of pro-NVA veterans for the movie, Fonda and Donald Sutherland are depicted in what Ashley describes as a "USO type tour" to counter the great Bob Hope and the patriotic entertainers who entertained the military in the real USO.

What Ashley didn't tell IJ readers was the Fonda/Sutherland troupe was called FTA for "F--k the Army." According to the website Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation, FTA "set up coffee houses near military bases and presented shows that featured American defeats, soldiers refusing to fight, and the murder of officers by their troops. After the shows, FTA cast members mingled with soldiers and encouraged them to desert or to sabotage the Army. FTA's coffee houses also recruited soldiers and veterans into the VVAW" (Vietnam Veterans Against the War, which was led by John Kerry.)

The movie, as well as Ashley's story promoting the appearance, is simply another forum for her and aging 1960's leftists to spread their lies about Vietnam and claim parallels to Iraq. According to the foreign policy expert Fonda, Iraq and Vietnam are similar from the perspective of "national arrogance."

Fonda told Ashley:

"My heart aches, just aches for the men and women who are serving (in Iraq) which we should have never invaded. There were other ways of getting rid of Saddam Hussein (name one, Jane! That‘s right, you can’t!). But we sent our troops over there without adequate training, without adequate body armor, without adequate numbers to do the job. We put them in a terrible situation."

Oh, how big of you Jane! How phony you are! Did your heart ache for the nearly 3 million South Vietnamese who were slaughtered because of the antics of you, John Kerry, Ramsey Clark and the rest of your crowd? Their blood is forever on your hands!

For more perspective on who Jane Fonda is, here's some other notable quotes from her over the ages:

"I would think that if you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would someday become communist." Fonda at Michigan State University, November 22, 1970.

"It's hard to be hopeful, frankly. What concerns me very much is the saber rattling and the calls for vengeance. I think it has to be dealt with as a crime. And when there's a crime, you don't bomb a city or a country - you use very, very clever intelligence, undercover-type operations to get the criminals and punish them, and then you try to understand the underlying causes of the crime." Fonda in an interview after September 11, 2001.

Uproar over Cheney Incident -- Media Desperately Seeks Next Scandal

There was outrage today among the mainstream media, that they were not told first about the accidental shooting by Vice President Cheney of one of his hunting companions.

Well, if I had to deal with a MSM that leaks classified information, makes up a bogus story about my boss' Texas Air National Guard records, I'd say calling up NBC, See BS, ABC or CNN would be the last thing on my mind.

Need one more reason? How about having to deal with this clown, Dana Milbank, from the Washington Compost? So much for objective journalism. Michelle Malkin has more about Milbank's absurdity.

I think getting help quickly for Mr. Whittington would be my first priority, if I were the Vice President. They were in a pretty desolate area. I'm familiar with the area where Armstrong Ranch is, as I grew up and went to college in the area. It is in mostly unpopulated Kenedy County in between the towns of Raymondville and Kingsville Texas. A drive to Kingsville, the closest town with a decent hospital, is about 45 minutes. From what I understand, Mr. Whittington was transfered from Kingsville to Corpus Christi, which is another 30 minute drive up U.S. Highway 77 (I don't know if they might have taken Farm Road 43, a.k.a Weber Road, into Corpus Christi.)

For all the uproar over Cheney not reporting this immediately to the MSM, there wasn't the same outrage when Her Royal Heiness, Hillary Rodham Clinton and her entourage injured a policeman as they ran through a stop at an airport. See Newsmax for more.

Just another day for the MSM. They're so desperate to get rid of Bush & Cheney they'll do their best to dig one up.

Gore's Middle East Slap at America, Funded By the Bin Laden Family

Al Gore's seditious speech at the Jeddah Economic Forum apparently was funded in part by the family of terrorist Osama bin Laden, according to this story from Newsmax.

The source for the article is Arab News, a Saudi news organization. They reported over the weekend that one of the funders of the Jeddah Economic Forum was the Saudi Binladin Group. The company, Saudi Arabia's largest construction company, is run by bin Laden's brothers and cousins.

Jeddah, the site of the forum attended by Gore, is Osama bin Laden's hometown, Newsmax reports.

What is unknown is how much Gore was paid for his speech, in which he claimed Arabs in America were systematically rounded up and held in "unforgivable conditions."

Is it likely that, because of his treason, the former Vice President will change his name soon, to Al-Queda Gore?

Recommended Reading -- Atomic Iran by Jerome R. Corsi PhD

I wanted to pass the word about a book I just finished reading, Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians by Jerome R. Corsi PhD. With the threats coming from that Hitler-esque leader of Iran, this is essential reading to know what we're up against.

Along with the threat from Iran, Corsi also details how the Mullahs of Iran have lobbied many Democrats for support. Remember how, in the first Presidential Debate, Sour Grapes Kerry suggested giving the Iranians fuel for their nuclear program? That's only one of the details mentioned in this book.

Corsi was also co-author (along with John O'Neill) of Unfit For Command,

Al Gore’s Sedition in Saudi Arabia

The other night, I was talking about how the losing Democratic Presidential candidates become “bitter partisans” who spend the rest of their lives tearing others down to build themselves up.

I’d mentioned George McGovern & Jimmy Carter, but I left out Al Gore.

Gore, who I believe is still emotionally unstable from his 2000 loss to George W. Bush is back again for another one of his outbursts against the President and the United States. The former Vice President today spewed the typical left-wing lies that the United States was rounding up people or Arab descent “indiscriminately” and holding them "unforgivable" conditions.

This time, the crowd wasn’t his usual or Kool-Aid drinkers, it was, according to an AP story, a “mainly Saudi audience” at the Jeddah Economic Forum in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

He also attacked the way Saudi visa applications had been blocked, saying "The thoughtless way in which visas are now handled, that is a mistake. The worst thing we can possibly do is to cut off the channels of friendship and mutual understanding between Saudi Arabia and the United States."

According to the AP article, Gore claims the Bush Administration is “playing into al-Qaida's hands” by “routinely” blocking the visas. Maybe he needs to look in the mirror instead when making that statement.

Where has Gore been the last week? Has he been locked away in rehearsals with the Dixie Hicks for their next overseas Sedition Tour? Has he not noticed the riots and violent protests by Muslims over the cartoon controversy? The irresponsible rantings of a former Vice President against this nation while in the Middle East is what plays into the hands of al-Qaida and their acolytes in the media. It gives them propaganda ("Look! Even a former Vice President attacks a sitting President" is the message sent.) and fuels more antipathy against the United States in the War on Terror.

Yet that is the selfish and childish nature of Al Gore, his refusal to get over the fact he lost a close Presidential election. Hey Al, do us all a favor. Go to a psychiatrist and seek psychological help. While you’re at it, why don’t you and your fans at a certain website take a hint from their name and Move On! Your pre-9/11 attitude at this dangerous juncture threatens us all.

"We Were Smeared" California National Guard Member Says of MSM

NewsBusters, from Brent Bozell's Media Research Center, features an OpEd entitled "The War You Didn't See" by Robert C.J. Parry, which ran in today's Los Angeles Times.

Parry was a first lieutenant in the California National Guard's 1st Battalion, 184 Infantry. He served in Iraq 18 months since 2004.

His piece is essential reading, because it shows how the old media is not interested in the success of Operation Iraqi Freedom, but instead in ginning up controversy and doubt about our success there. It echoes what I've heard repeated many times from listening to those who have served in Iraq, how the media is ignoring the successes there.

Near the end of his article, Parry states:

"I saw the successes. I struggled with the failures. But most important, I saw people who once had nothing now bursting with hope and thanks."

A Warm Welcome to Bay Area Talk Radio

While we're on the topic of talk radio, Marooned in Marin would like to extend a warm welcome to Bay Area airwaves, the Great One, Mark Levin. Now newly syndicated as of this month, Levin's show appears on KSFO-560 AM weeknights from 8 to 10 p.m.

Levin has been a fill-in host for Sean Hannity and had his own daily talk show for the past couple of years on New York's WABC-AM. He served as Chief of Staff to Attorney General Edwin Meese during the Reagan Administration. In addition to his radio show, he is the author of last year's New York Times bestseller, Men In Black, How The Supreme Court is Destroying America, a columnist for National Review Online and President of the Landmark Legal Foundation.

I highly recommend listening to his radio show, as well as reading his book. Along with his take on current events, you will learn much about our Constitution and how it works from a real Constitutional attorney. Also check out his fan site, Mark Levin Fan. (Many thanks to Steve, John from Dublin and everyone else at the site, for listing us among their links.)

I'd also like to send a belated "Thank You" to David Gold, the weekend host at KSFO, for mentioning MIM on his radio show last weekend. His is the "to go" show on Saturday & Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. I dig that bumper music (especially the Albert King & other blues songs he plays.)

George McGovern "Bush Bashes" in Marin

Former Senator (and losing 1972 Democratic Presidential Candidate) George McGovern came to Corte Madera's Book Passage Bookstore on Thursday to peddle his new booklet, "Social Security and the Golden Age." His visit was the subject of a glowing profile by Marin IJ Entertainment Writer Paul Liberatore in the Marin section of Friday's paper.

Judging from the tone of Liberatore's story, McGovern's visit was, to put it simply, nothing but a regular Marin County "Bush Bash."

The former Senator's new tome is nothing but recycled liberal propaganda against President Bush's call for Social Security reform. He states that the idea that Social Security will run out of money is "total fiction."

"No American is ever going to miss a single Social Security check," he was quoted in the IJ story. "That's an absolute fact."

If that's true, George, then how are we going to pay for a system which all evidence shows is going broke? Even your party's last President, Bill Clinton, asserted Social Security would go broke. Let me guess? Higher taxes must be the cure, right?

McGovern's 1972 campaign for President essentially changed the Democratic Party for the worse. Up until then, the Democratic Party was once home to great leaders like FDR, Truman and JFK. While many of us could disagree with many of their policies (or personal behavior) there was never any doubt that these men would defend America against all enemies. Yet the 1960's radicals were drawn to McGovern’s appeasement-at-any-cost message. Together, they turned the party of reason of FDR, Truman & JFK into the party of treason it has become today. A party whose elected leaders continuously undermine America in the fight against the greatest threat to our survival, which is Isalmofacist terrorism.

Liberatore's story details McGovern's attacks on the Bush Administration over the War on Terror and Iraq. The writer lists all the liberal talking points against the administration, the "false premise" for the War in Iraq (Liberatore ignores that other intelligence agencies besides the CIA, as well as the Clinton Administration, said Iraq had WMD's) plus the media and Left’s new big lie, "secret eavesdropping on American citizens without warrants." (Nice job drinking that DNC Kool-Aid, Paul!)

"I think more serious wrongs have been done under this administration than under the Nixon administration," McGovern said, adding he'd rather have Nixon in the White House than Bush. Here again is the Left's obsession with Nixon, as well as Vietnam. The War on Terrorism and George W. Bush is another reason for fossils like McGovern and the old hippies of Marin to congregate. They reminisce about their salad days of the 1960's & 70's and wish to recapture their youth one more time by opposing another war and another Republican president.

But the McGovern visit and Liberatore’s uncritical review gives us a glimpse into what’s wrong with the modern Democratic party. Their leaders (Kerry, Kennedy, the Clintons) all came of age in (and are obsessed with) the 1960’s. Their ideas are based out of that blame America first era and have not changed. It doesn’t matter to them that Americans reject that ideology every time. They only look at us as not being “sophisticated enough.”

Finally, we see in McGovern, as with Jimmy Carter earlier this week, the bitterness of two losers. America overwhelmingly rejected McGovern’s candidacy. Similarly, Carter was fired in 1980 after four years of that born-again hypocrite nearly ruined America. McGovern, like Carter, never got over defeat at the ballot box. Far from being elder statesmen, they instead make a career as bitter partisans, tearing down those who came after them in order to reconcile their own failures.

The Danish Cartoons of Mohammed -- A Synopsis

The deadly and violent protests by Muslims over images of Mohammed in a Danish newspaper continue. Secretary of State Condolezza Rice today accused Syria & Iran of stroking outrage over the cartoons.

For the benefit of those who have not seen the 12 cartoons, here is a copy of the newspaper in which they September 2005. (Zombie & other mirror sites have bigger images of the cartoons, as well as other depictions of Mohammed over history. According to Zombie, "hundreds of paintings, drawings and other images of Mohammed have been created over the centuries, with nary a word of complaint from the Muslim world. The recent cartoons in Jyllands-Posten (the Danish newspaper) are nothing new; it's just that no other images of Mohammed have ever been so widely publicized."

Lorenzo Vidino writes in his National Review Online piece how the controversy was ginned up using faked cartoons (not a part of the 12).

Here are the three fakes, one of which was actually a photo of a French Pig Squealing Contest winner (the one in the middle). It was implied that this image was of Mohammed as a pig. For more details, see Lying Danish Imams by Michelle Malkin.

For all the controversy in the Muslim world, the images ran in an Egyptian newspaper in October 2005. Little Green Footballs has more details.

CNN & The Treason (New York) Times have refused to show the cartoons "out of respect for Islam," but didn't show the same respect when it came to a "painting" of the Virgin Mary with elephant dung. (Neal Boortz & LGF on the double standard of CNN & The Times).

More on this story as it continues to evolve.

Counter Protesting an Anti-Terror Ground Zero

The United American Committee held a National Rally Against Islamofascism Day in various cities around the nation. Here is a photo, courtesy of their website, showing two counterprotesters at the site of the World Trade Center. (Note the flag on the "State Terrorism" sign, instead of the 50 stars in the blue field, it is a Star of David.)

Turning the King Funeral into The Wellstone Memorial, Part Deux

What should have been a respectful memorial to Coretta Scott King has been corrupted by the money changers in the Temple.

There was the supposed Rev. Joseph Lowry, who had to jump on the "no WMDs in Iraq" mantra, then bemoan how there's money for the war, but not for the poor.

He was followed by Jimmy Carter, a supposed Born Again Christian. (I guess Liberation Theology is the doctrine Carter believes, since he's a close friend of dictators & tyrants.) Carter showed how much of a low class jerk he has been since getting a well-deserved pink slip from the American voter in 1980. He used Mrs. King's funeral to attack the NSA terrorist surveillance program and the aftermath Hurricane Katrina. But then again, he's used every opportunity to bash his predecessors just to rehabilitate his failed Presidency. (A radical & nuclear Iran, the birth of Isalmofacism, plus brokering the deal which led to Nuclear North Korea, nice legacy Peanut Boy!)

All this was done while President Bush, the First Lady and ex-President Bush #41 were in the audience.

For all the handwringing over the NSA program, I find it funny that neither Carter, Teddy Kennedy or Bill Clinton (complete with him biting his lip) apologized to the King family for the wiretapping of Dr. King by Democrats: John F. Kennedy & Robert F. Kennedy.

I had a feeling Mrs. King's funeral was going to be politicized. These people have no shame.

Marin Democratic Party Hates Bush More than Terrorists

Why do I make such a provocative statement? Well, according to Saturday’s Reporter’s Notebook in the Marin Independent Journal, the Democratic Central Committee of Marin approved a resolution to impeach President Bush.

What for? Their excuse is the President’s “illegal domestic wiretapping of American citizens,” which is the big lie being promoted by the party’s national leadership, its elected officials, plus their grassroots activists and PR agents in the mainstream media.

If it was any other time, this would be a good joke. However, with the threats facing America after 9/11, times are too serious for this cheap partisan stunt by Marin Democrats.

What they don’t get is that President Bush is only doing what he is required to do by the Constitution, defend this nation from foreign enemies. Other Presidents have done similar during times of war, including Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt, who said, "It is too late to do anything about it after sabotage, assassinations and ‘fifth column’ activities are completed,”

There’s the hypocrisy factor as well. I don’t remember the Marin Democratic Party getting worked up about the Echelon Program, the use of the IRS as a political weapon and the possession of 900 FBI files, all during the Clinton Administration.

This is because there is a selfish motive for both the leaders of the Marin and National Democratic Party. Partially, it is the reacquisition of political power, but there is also a quest for revenge. They've never gotten over the razor thin 2000 Presidential election, losing the 2004 election and the 1998 impeachment of their beloved President Bill Clinton. Thus, during a time of war, this nation continues to endure a five year political temper tantrum by the Democratic Party.

That’s why former DNC chairman Terry “the Punk” McAulliffe and senators like Barbara Boxer promoted a work of celluloid treason called “Fahrenheit 9/11. “Dirty Harry” Reid bragged how “we (Democrats) defeated the Patriot Act.” “Turbin” Durbin of Illinois compared our military to Nazis or Pol Pot’s executioners and Hanoi John Kerry implied our military in Iraq were terrorists. You can count on elected Democrats to put the “civil rights” of al-Queda terrorists above the survival rights of American citizens.

It is culminated with what we see today, with the start of these sham hearings into the NSA terrorist surveillance program. As much as they refuse to admit it, the Democratic Senators (as well as a few RINOs) are on the side of the terrorists. To these Democrats, it is Republicans and President Bush that are more of a threat to national security than al-Queda or Osama bin Laden. They have such a clinically psychotic hatred for George W. Bush, Republicans and the US military that they’d risk the destruction of this country and the lives of its citizens to future acts of terror, just to Bring Bush Down.

The major problem is these Democrat leaders are so blinded by their Bush hatred that they don't see how they're fueling the resolve of terrorists and rogue regimes who threaten America, such as Iran. Listening to bin Laden’s latest audio tape, it was hard to tell the difference between his words and those of Chappaquiddick Kennedy or Nancy Bella-Pelosi.

Democratic Congressmen stood with Republicans on the Capitol steps on the afternoon of 9/11 and pledged national unity. Their sophomoric version of God Bless America that day was as far as their empty pledge of unity went. Instead, they’ve taken every opportunity to divide America for their own selfish motives. Thus, they are putting the lives of American citizens at risk by showing our enemies a divided front.

Maybe if the leaders of the Democratic party fought Islamfacist terror with half the zeal they use against Republicans and President Bush, we’d be closer to finishing this war.

IJ Watch -- More Proof of IJ's Pro-Woolsey Bias

I wouldn't have caught this one had it not been brought to my attention by my wife, who told me of this story in Sunday's IJ, "Money Battle Favors Woolsey."

It wasn't the content of the story, it was the photos used by the IJ in the print edition.

"It looks like he (Joe Nation) is missing a tooth," my wife told me.

I agreed and noticed more about the two photos upon closer examination.

The photo of Woolsey looked as if it could be an older photo, when she was a few years younger.

The photo of Nation looks as if it is a bad copy of a copy of a digital photo (or somehow distorted). Since Nation has been Marin's representative to the California State Assembly, I'm sure they'd have a better photo than this.

I've scanned the two photos for reader comparison.

D.C. "Peace" Protesters Display Sign of President Bush Beheaded

I was just browsing FreeRepublic and saw this post. Apparently, the World Can't Wait (a front group for the Revolutionary Communist Party) had another one of their "Hate Bush, Hate America" rallies in Washington D.C. today.

If you need any proof how many of these so-called "peace protesters" are anything but peaceful, take a look at this sign showing a beheaded President Bush. (I hope the authorities are keeping a close eye on these people.)

Then there's the kooks here with the "9/11 Was an Inside Job Sign".

(Thanks to Kristinn at FreeRepublic for these photos and the post.)

IJ Watch -- Editorial Promotes the Lies of Mother Sheehan & Woolsey

John Walker Lindh, a.k.a "Ratboy" isn't the only traitor whom the Marin Independent Journal champions in its pages.

Along with the so-called local "Peace & Justice" groups (who are really apologists for Muslim terrorists and Socialist regimes around the world), there's so-called "Peace Mom" Cindy Sheehan, whom the IJ defends in today's editorial entitled, "Peace mom certainly didn't deserve to get the boot."

According to the IJ, it was wrong to boot Mother Sheehan from the President's State of the Union Address, claiming the Capitol Police "not only overreacted in their physical arrest of Sheehan, but they were enforcing a rule that doesn't exist." The editorial board goes on to say she "wasn't waving a placard or being disruptive. She just wore the question she has been asking for more than a year on the front of a shirt."

Wrong! According to an AP story, demonstrating in the Capitol Building is a misdemeanor. Mother Sheehan wasn't waving a placard, she was wearing one, a T-Shirt which read "2,234, how many more?" The Washington Compost also reported that she was "vocal" and "ignored instructions to close her jacket and quiet down."

The editors also promote the lies spewed forth by Sheehan and Woolsey since the incident, that Woolsey "didn't know" Sheehan was going to wear the T-Shirt.

According to some sources, Woolsey was warned that Sheehan planned to disrupt the President and was encouraged by her Democratic colleagues to give Sheehan a ticket to the SOTU. Also, Code Pink (whom Woolsey and Sheehan are active with), was one of many extreme leftist groups which promoted SOTU "get togethers" to "Drown Out Bush’s Lies.”

As with Woolsey, the IJ has once again gone out of its way to give favorable coverage to Mother Sheehan. Not once have they printed how she actually met with President Bush, before her grief was manipulated by George Soros funded groups and the Kerry Campaign during the 2004 election. Neither has the IJ printed any of Mother Sheehan's outrageous anti-American and anti-Semitic quotes.

"Now that we have decimated [Iraq], the borders are open, freedom fighters from other countries are going in."

"Am I angry? Yes, he (Casey Sheehan, her son) was killed for lies and for a PNAC [Project for a New American Century] Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel."

"We should not let Israel/USA invade Syria or Iran."

"You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you’ll stop the terrorism."

"I was raised in a country by a public school system that taught us that America was good, that America was just. America has been killing people, like my sister over here says, since we first stepped on this continent, we have been responsible for death and destruction. I passed on that bullshit to my son and my son enlisted. I’m going all over the country telling moms: 'This country is not worth dying for.'"

And then there's this telling and prophetic quote, which debunks the lie that Sheehan wasn't going to disrupt the SOTU Address:

"For the next State of the Union address, maybe the hypocrites in Congress should shamefacedly display blood-soaked hands, instead of proudly wriggling fingers stained with ink to symbolize sham Iraqi elections."

That leaves only one conclusion: the IJ Editorial Board is too blinded by their partisan contempt of George W. Bush to tell the truth about Cindy Sheehan and Lynn Woolsey's disrespect for our nation, our President and our military.

IJ Watch -- Defending Woolsey From Her Primary Opponent

Today's IJ editorial "Joe Nation Should Run on his Record" defended extreme-leftist Lynn Woolsey from accusations Nation made against her in Monday's IJ.

Nation, a liberal Democrat who is Marin's outgoing State Assemblyman, accused Woolsey of taking several privately funded trips. He also attacked her record of voting against pay increases for the military, yet voting for pay raises for her and other Congressmen. He is running against Woolsey in the Democratic Primary for her Congressional seat.

To the IJ Editorial board, Nation's accusations are "slinging mud." However, her voting record against the members of our military and breaking a promise not to take privately funded trips should be considered fair game.

This is not the first time the IJ Editorial Board has taken Woolsey's side. The paper showed courage in February 2004 by reporting how she wrote a letter of reference for the rapist of a 17 year-old Terra Linda girl. Yet, once Woolsey apologized, it was good as gold for the IJ's Editorial Board and they endorsed her re-election in the 2004 primary and general election.

Shame on the IJ Editorial Board!

Ethics Investigation, Censure for Woolsey Urged

Due to the antics last night of her guest for the SOTU address, Cindy Sheehan, Marooned in Marin is calling for the House of Representatives to conduct an ethics investigation or hold a censure vote for Lynn Woolsey.

I plan on making calls to the appropriate House members today. Feel free to call your Congressperson where you live if you agree such action should be taken.

UPDATE - 8:30 p.m. Feb 1, 2006

According to The Washington Prowler on AmSpec Blog, Democratic House sources have said that Woolsey "was warned in advance that Sheehan intended to let loose a protest during the speech." Furthermore, the Prowler states that "She was encouraged to give the ticket to Sheehan by others inside her caucus." (For the record, Woolsey is a member of the Progressive Caucus. Click here for list of members)

I have no doubt that Woolsey knew and hoped to disrupt President Bush's State of the Union Address last night. This justifies an ethics hearing by the House, a vote of censure or both.

There are other reasons I am calling for the House to take action against Woolsey, one of which is how I believe she has violated her oath of office, which reads:

"I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

Woolsey has given aid and comfort to both foreign and domestic enemies. She has lent her support to the supposed anti-war group Code Pink. This group has given $600,000 in money and medical aid to the terrorist insurgents in Fallujah, Iraq. Additionally, Code Pink was one of several groups involved in a mock "war crimes" trial in Istanbul, Turkey on June 27, 2005. The "tribunal" produced a joint declaration that the terrorist insurgency in Iraq was "legitimate and justified. It deserves the support of people everywhere who care for justice and freedom."

Additionally, she was a featured speaker at a January 2003 rally against the Iraq war sponsored by A.N.S.W.E.R. at San Francisco's City Hall. The group is a front group for the Stalinist Workers World Party and is led by Former U.S. Attorney General (and current Saddam Hussein defense attorney) Ramsey Clark. It is not uncommon at A.N.S.W.E.R. rallies to see banners and signs equating the United States and Israel to Nazi Germany.

Woolsey also deserves an ethics investigation for using her office and Congressional stationery to ask for leniency for the rapist of a 17 year-old Marin County girl. In December 2003, the Congresswoman stated to (Marin Superior Court) Judge Terrence Boren that "Stewart Pearson is a young man from a supportive family. I believe he has a promising life ahead of him, and I urge you to consider these factors when deciding upon a suitable sentence."

Pearson had volunteered for Woolsey and his mother worked in her office.

According to news reports, Pearson raped the 17 year-old after smothering her face with a rag soaked in household cleaning chemicals. He was sentenced to eight years in prison and other charges of sodomy and assault against him were dropped.

Her opponent for this year's primary, outgoing California Assemblyman Joe Nation, accused Woolsey in Monday's Marin IJ of taking 11 privately sponsored trips over the last five years, totaling $43,000. This prompts the question: Has Woolsey been using her office for personal gain?

I strongly urge a member of Congress to start an ethics investigation into Lynn Woolsey. Her actions show he is unworthy of the public trust as a Representative of the United States. On behalf of all patriotic Marin County residents, I publicly apologize to President Bush, to America and to the members of our military for the embarassment that is Lynn Woolsey.
